It is the only commerce college in Barasat. It is not a good college but lots better than Birati college, NBPCM etc. Although there are some good teachers but the college office is disgusting. Overall it is ok for B.Com students only but try to avoid it. Barrackpore Rastraguru Surendranath College, BGC (Belgharia), DDMRM is definitely good option for B.Com students (in WBSU).

The college was established in 1972 by the name of Barasat Evening College. However, it was converted later on as a general college. The college is located beside the main road. The nearest available railway station would be hridaypur and not barasat. The infrastructure is good,however, as an academic institution,it needs huge improvement including teaching and other student related benefits. Students need attention as they need to suffer a lot.

Overall this is a good college and there are a lot of combinations in subjects to study. But, the office workers are rude and they dont pay attention to the problems sometimes though some of them are very helpful. Study in the college is not so good and in some department, the professors are inattentive and careless but as opposite, in some department, the professors are really impressive. Location of the college is just beside the national highway, so, the traffic noise makes disturbance a bit.
