Probably the worst saree shop in all of Kolkata. We went in just to browse & our eyes were burning due to the innumerable amount of bulbs burning inside the store making it unbearably hot, they refused to switch off any of them.When it came to sarees I saw one I had bought for my Mom in April from a store in Gariahat, I knew the price as my Mom wore it just a few days ago & I saw the tag, it was for about ₹1,200 but at this store the same khadi cotton saree was selling for ₹2,400. I even had them pull it out of the shelf just to be sure.When we started leaving without buying anything the owner became unbelievable rude and even said that we were people of poor taste who didn’t realise that he had the best collection. We went to a store next door & spent ₹13,000 of sarees without poor taste. Plenty of options nearby for sarees and this one is proven to mark up its prices.

Horrific experience. They will almost decide for you what you are going to buy. They wont let you think or even give you time to decide instead will start asking you whether you are going to pay in cash or card! They will judge you if you are not buying expensive sarees, will pass remarks at customer! The owner intervenes and just dont know how to behave. If you have a specific taste, I can assure you it will be difficult to like something from their collection. Never visit again.

Adi Indian Silk House is a pure Marwari shop & there sales persons almost begs before customers on road to visit their showroom on 1st floor and after entering it, they unnecessarily start to open each & every sarees for sale before customers whether customer wants or not and after purchase the Marwari owner at cash teases the customer after payment that you saw so many sarees and purchased only one, whether customers like it or not.Under no condition do they entertain customers happily for exchange (just excuses not to exchange) forget about return.They want money only and no service, they treat customers according to their purchase.This shop has somehow forgot, that it has no monopoly here at college street because there are plenty of other shops nearby with better products varieties and lower price & better behaviour ofcourse and slowly & slowly the customers will come to know about it and would never ever visit it again ...

DONT BUY their expensive saree online. Its still better to go in the shop to see the real quality of the saree. Because once you get the defective saree you cannot exchange or refund and they wont even be sorry. If you got good quality saree you are lucky but i wasted my money buying from them. Worst shop ever. When you go shopping new sarees,they are welcoming. But they are selling defective & torn products, and you would like to exchange those. The exchange part is very tough. They are constantly asking to visit later and giving excuses why the sarees cant be exchanged even on weekdays. I told that I am non resident of Kolkata and I cant visit the shop after 7.30 pm as I have to come back to my home which takes more than 4 hours. They are not at all co operating and whenever asked for the exchange date,they say not to visit. This is highly disappointing and please dont harass your customers like this. I have seen often the owner replies to the reviewes,and I ask you to look into the same.
