Very renowned bengali cuisine restaurant at Kolkata. Situated at Dalhousie.Ambience was very aesthetic and smart interior. We had bhaat, daal, alubhaja, fish kaliya, mutton kosha, chatni, papad, rashomali. All the items were not that level good or tasty that we heard before. Mugh dal was really good, and others were moderate in taste.Staff behavior could be more polite.Hope will visit in future with positive vibes.

Had lunch at The Bhoj Company with family. The ambience was nice and pleasant. The quality of the food was questionable. We ordered for fish fingers. It tastes good with kasundi. In the main course we had kochu pata chingri, mutton Dakbunglow which was not cooked properly. The mutton pieces were undercooked. Apart from this we had chicken kosha and basanti pulao. The taste was average. In dessert, rosomalai was preferred. It was amazing. Loved the taste and flavour. You may try out the outlet in Salt Lake.

I think I dont really have much words to describe this restaurant. Each and every dishes I tried was extremely traditional and delicious. The service was quick and nice. If youre thinking about going there dont wait just try there food once. Hoping you would love it. 😊 been there twice and both the time I had good dining experience . If you’re going on weekends or occasions you may have to wait there to get a table .The price does good justice to the quality and quantity. Will visit there soon and I would definitely recommend this placeSpecial Recommendations1. Loitta Mach Sheel e Bata2. Katla Kalia3. Pabda mach ( shorshe and patla jhol )4. Bhetki paturi5. The restaurant’s extremely beautiful Bengali atmosphere and the polite, courteous and friendly behavior of the staff should be appreciated first and foremost. This restaurant is mainly famous for Bengali food, but Chinese is also available here.We have tried here:1. Dum Polao2. Mutton Dak Bunglow3. Murgi Sheel-E Bata(Bhoj Special)4. Lime SodaThe items of polao and mutton were extremely tasty and also good in terms of quantity. But what is special about this restaurant is that Murgi Sheel-E Bata . It is a must-try when you are visiting this restaurant. And the price also matches the amount and taste of the food. So, for me its a must try restaurant for the authentic bengali food lovers and for all also.

Most worst experience ever... Yesterday I went with 3 friends... Ordered different Thali... And there was RAW smell from the mutton... Just worst preparation ever... Even 6 ballygunge Place has 1000 times better preparation on mutton... I have taken normal water... And they charged me with packaged drinking water on bill... I didnt expect these type of Things from Bhoj Company... But now Ill recommend dont go there... And even when I wanted to order a Chicken item again they were trying to push sell the Mutton items telling chicken not available... As they knew that there is something wrong with mutton... But I denied... Then they gave the chicken item within 10 mins... So I dont know why they are sooo nasty nowadays

🌈 The Bhoj Company- Dalhousie is reopening their BBD Bag brunch. For the betterment of everyone, this outlet is introducing a massive changes from the interior to sitting arrangements, from food preparation to food serving.🌈Checks according to WHOs Protocol-✔️Masks are mandatory as you enter the restuarant premises.✔️Mandatory contactless sanitizer aslt the entrance.✔️For the customers safety tables are placed 6 feet apart.✔️Digital Menu & online payment option are preferable from our smartphone.✔️Maintaining WHO protocol all staffs & waiters are wearing face shields, masks & gloves.✔️Staffs temparature are checked on a regular basis.✔️After every guest leaves, tables & chairs are thoroughly sanitized.✔️All the plates, cutlery, crockery & utensils are given maximum sanitization after each meal.✔️After every two hours all the open surfaces are cleaned with chlorhydrate solution.🌈Food- I ordered for-💐Bhetki Fish Fry (With Kasundi)- Every bengali has an intense love for fish fry as starter. 4 fresh Vetki fish fillet, fried until crispy texture, server with mustard sauce known as kasundi.💐Luchi & Aloor Dum- As every bengali, this combination is one of my favourites from the listm When gorom gorom luchi are served with spicy Aloor Dum, I cannot resist myself anymore.💐Gondhoraj Chicken Fry - Small fried chicken pieces infused with gondhoraj lemon flavour. Absolutely different in taste from any other chicken fry.💐Sada Bhaat & Shile Bata Loitya- Loitya Fish is a very popular fish in every Bengalis kitchen. Shile Bata Loitya is basically a preparation of smashed Loitya fish seasoned with proper spices. The taste is just outstanding. When it is combined with plain rice, I personally love this a lot.💐Dum Pulao With Chicken Kasha- Sweetness of pulao & spiciness of chicken curry- isnt it amazing? Both the items set their individual mark to your taste buds.💐Rosomalai- Every food story is incomplete without a sweet ending.Imagine,2 soft chhena balls dipped in thick malai!!!!! Bengali cuisine is so rich and delectable. To taste some authentic Bengali delicacies I went to this restaurant. This restaurant is located in Dalhousie. It is a two storied property and very spacious one too. It can accommodate upto 100 people approx. The decor is simple yet aristocratic. What all I tried?• Luchi with Kashmiri Aloor Dum - There were 4 pieces of luchi served. The aloor dum had a distinctive red color due the use of kashmiri red mirch. I loved the taste. It was heavenly ❤️.•Gondhoraj Chicken Fry- Long strips of chicken marinated with gondhoraj and then deep fried. The smell was so good and the chicken was soft inside with a crispy outer covering.•Kachu pata Chingri Bhaapa- This is such an authentic Bengali rich that you have to try it. The dish was cooked to perfection. Have it with basmati rice and you are surely going to fall in love with this dish.• ILISH Bharta- This is such a unique dish. I had it for the first time. Being a hugeee Ilish lover I was completely spell bounded. The Ilish was de-boned and then turned into a Bharta.• Dum Pulao - Bashonti coloured pulao slowly cooked in dum to enhance its flavours . It had a lot of dry fruits in it making it very rich.• kosha Mangsho- This is what love looks like. I loved the color so much. It looked tasted and tasted even better. The mutton was cooked to perfection and the gravy had the right consistency. It wasnt too spicy yet had that perfect balance of flavours. Went very well with the pulao.•DAAB Chingri- 😍 this was my reaction after taking the first bite. The jumbo prawns were cooked in coconut malai . The curry was ambrosial. It went very well with the basmati rice. Also there were 4-5 pieces in the daab chingri.• Dhakai Morog Pulao - This was exuberant. The taste ,the flavors, the tenderness of chicken was oozing out. I loved it so much. I cant name a dish that I found mediocre. Everything was so unique and delicious that I consider all my recommendations to be important.•papad•chutney - I opted for mango chutney . You can ask for any other .•Rasomalai- A perfect ending to this gala meal with this super sweet and tasty dessert .The staff was so courteous and helpful .The service was very very prompt. Do visit this place during pujas. You are surely going to love this.

The best part of this joint is the food. The lipsmacking delicious food. If you are really looking forward to have an authentic bengali platter experience please do visit this joint. The luchi aloo dum, being an authentic bengali delicacy is difficult to satisfy one Bengalis taste bud... Yet with the warm luchi and the delicious alur dum there was a satisfaction to the core. The next in course was kochupata chingri. This dish alone can take up all your rice. Pairing with rice, there is a burst of flavours, which alone can be experienced if one tastes such. The extra mustard was an inexplicable addition which brought out the whole flavour. If you want to go a bit daring, try out dum pulao with sheel ae bata loitta. The first time i had such a combination, it was exceptionally good. There is a perfect blend in the loitta. Even you dont like such, you will definitely fall in love after tasting. There are many more exceptionally mouth-watering dishes you can try. But these are a must.

Few days back, I visited the Bhoj Company which is located in Dalhousie, admist the hustle bustle of the office crowd. They have 3 outlets spread all over Kolkata, with this one being the oldest of the lot. The Bhoj company is known for their Authentic Dhakai cuisine and I must say that they have truly lived up to their reputation. The interiors are nicely done. They have kept it simple yet elegant. On my visit, I tried the following dishes:• Luchi and Alur Dom- The Luchi was served hot and it was fluffy as per my liking. The alur Dom was a bit on the spicier side and I really liked the way it tasted.• Gandhoraj Chicken Fry (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED)-The chicken pieces were very well fried and was sauted with secret sauces. The addition of Gandhoraj lebu kind of took the dish to the next level and it became my absolute favourite.• Rice• Kachu Pata Chingri Bhapa (RECOMMENDED)- This is a traditional Dhakai Cuisine and again it had a strong flavour of Mustard Oil and Kochupata.• Murgi Sheel E Bata (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED)Dhokar Dalna- Another traditional Dhakai cuisine and the chef nailed it. The dish was immaculately made with adequate amount of spices thus giving me a foodgasmic experience.• Pulao- I liked the Pulao. It complemented very well with the Chicken Kosha. The best part was that the Pulao was not heavily scented.• Chicken Kosha- The chicken Kosha was good if I compare with the other dishes I tried.• Rasomalai (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED)- It looked like Baked Rosogolla which you usually get in Kolkata. It was creamy and tender. The perfect dessert one can have after a satiating lunch.Overall I had a great dine in experience and I am eagerly looking forward to my next visit.

Some days back I went to this place for dinner to relish on some authentic Bengali/Dhakai dishes.LOCATION: This restaurant is located near Dalhousie which is very easily accessible by all routes ie bus or metro.•Nearest Metro station: Chandni Chowk or Esplanade! The restaurant has two floors with a spacious arrangements along with some paintings hanging on the wall. Now coming to the food that I had:Started off my dinner with very basic bangali dish ie1.Luchi Aloordom: ( RECOMMENDED)This dish can be opted separately or as combo. This combo was really amazing here with fluffy and soft flatbread(luchis )along with Aloordom. Although a little bit of salt would made the curry more amazing!2.Gondhoraj Chicken Fry: ( RECOMMENDED)This was the best fusion to basic chicken fries I have ever had. This is a dish consisting of spicy crispy chicken fries along with the flavour & taste of Gondhoraj lebu!Ahhh just amaaazing!😍3.Dhokar Dalna4.Plain rice with Kochu Pata Chingri Bhapa: ( RECOMMENDED)The Chingri( Prawn)bhapa was amazing in taste cooked in crushed mustard gravy along with kochu Pata saag( spinach). It was a bit spicy and piquant because of the real crushed mustard used while cooking. It was really very flavourful.5.Sil e bata Loita Mach6.Pulao with Mutton Kasa: The pulao was very light & it had the perfect balance of sweetness and other spices just like a true Bengali likes their Pulao to be. This can be taken with Mutton/Chicken kasa as both will go perfectly fine with Pulao.7.Rosomolai: And at last took rosomalai for dessert and they were so good and cheap it was a perfect thing to end our meal with. This can be a perfect place for families, friends and office goers to have and cherish some good Bengali dishes. Well apart from this, they serve Chinese cuisine as well!

|| The Bhoj Company - A Real Authentic Bengali Cuisine Delicacy||Bengali cuisine is all about the emotion of bengal serving in a plate. A Bengali meal follows a multi-course tradition where food is served course-wise usually in a specific format, marking it as the only meal of the subcontinent to have evolved such convention. The bhoj company understood the perfect & they are really serving some authentic dishes of West Bengal & East Bengal. It is located in Dalhousie, BBD Bag just near Lal Dighi/ Lal Bazar Police Station. Easily you can locate it from road. Parking is a little bit concern here because you need to park your vehicle little far away then you have to walk to reach here.Ambience is really impressive. Large sitting capacity with 2 floors. Large potted plants give a great greenery environment. Well decorated with bengali traditional things on the wall.I have tried some A-la-carte dishes & they have launched a special Durga puja thali.# In A-la-carte I have -》 Luchi (4pc)& Kashmiri Aloor Dum(2pc) : This is the best breakfast dish according to bengalis. Bengalis have a different soft corner for luchi. The aloor dum was really too good. A perfect beginning of meal.》Bhetki Paturi : All time favourite thing. The bhetki fillet with mustard & chili in steam rice will take you to another world. A sure try dish.》 Kochu Pata Chingri Bhapa : A pure east bengals dish. The preparation was so tasty that you can have a whole meal with it.》 Murgi Sheel-E-Bata : This is a rich dry gravy of chicken keema. Its little spicy & steam rice only goes with it.In Special Durga Puja Thali the items included are -*Durga Puja Special Moha Bhoj Thali*Bhetki Fish FrySaladRiceDum PulaoShona Moong DalJhuri Aloo BhajaKochu Pata Chingri BhapaShorshe Ilish (1pc - Jumbo) / Chitol Kalia (1pc - Jumbo)Kossa Mangsho (Mutton / Chicken) - 2 pcsChaatni PapadMisthiMishti DoiThe quantity was sufficient & they really maintained a great quality. Table booking is recommended.Ambience: The interior decor of this place will give you a classic feeling of hospitality accompanied by Bangaliana. Staff service is totally appreciable and prompt. Indoor seating is available in both upstairs and downstairs.Food Review:1. Postor Bora: Talking about starters in a Bengali menu, this dish has been grabbing attention since ages. The postor bora was totally crispy and utterly tasty.2. Rice and Moong Dal: People say a Bengali lunch is incomplete with bhaat daal. In my opinion, indeed it is. The rice was perfectly boiled and moong dal tasted like heaven.3. Kochu Pata Chingri Bhapa: This is something I have been impressed at. Didn’t know kochu pata can be so tasty when prepared with prawns4. Murgi Shile baata: This is something I had for the first time. I never knew that chicken can be made this way. The taste was balanced and totally delicious.5. Lote maach shile baata: One of the famous Bangladeshi dish. They were able to make it perfectly perfect.6. Dum Polao with Chicken Kosha: The combination is literally a killer in the dining. The polao was literally finger licking good whereas the chicken kosha was spicy and perfectly made to serve with the pulao.7. Aamer Chatni: Bangali lunch is really unfinished without this one. Having it after the lunch felt like nailing the last nail in the coffin8. Rosho Malai: Served perfectly as a desert. It was fresh and made with nolen gur.I would really request everyone to try this restaurant out and if you are a fan of Bangladeshi Cuisine then this place will not let you down.

This outlet of The Bhoj Company is located just opposite to BBD Bag bus terminal or besides Mumtazuddin mobile shop. This is a fine dine in restaurant with two floors of sitting arrangement. Interior is quite well decorated and every corner of this place will remind you the Bengali culture. Most importantly the place is spacious.Staff here are very friendly and helpful. Service is quick too.I had tried-Luchi(Recommended) ,Alur Dom(Recommended) ,Gandhoraj Chicken Fry(Recommended),Rice,Kachu Pata Chingri Bhapa(Best),Loitta Mach Sheel E Bata,Dhokar Dalna,Pulao,Chicken Kosha,Mutton Kosha,Rasomalai. Before reviewing about food here, I want to let you know that Bengali food here is basically Bangladeshi food. So majority of the dishes are served with a twist of Bangladeshi cuisine.Gandhoraj Chicken fry is one of the some Chinese dishes found here. It was like Chicken drumstick or Chicken Lollipop, but without bones and with strong aroma of lime. This was totally moutb watering.Luchi and alurdom are served as a combo here. This combo contains 4 piecese Luchi and 4 pieces of alurdom. Luchi was really soft and large in size. Alurdom was really delicious, not too spicy or tangy.Loitta mach sheel e bata was minced loitta mach/fish mixed with fish curry.Kochu pata Chingri Bhapa is a dish I really liked. It was too spicy because freshly prepared mustard paste, but that spiciness blended well with the kochu shaak and chingri(Prawn). And this dish is recommended with plain rice. Now pulao was with full of dry fruits and sweet. The taste of pulao was much more appealing with chicken and mutton kosha. Chicken and mutton both were well cooked. Chicken pieces were juicy and soft. Mutton was also fresh and well prepared.Lastly Rasamalai/Rasomalai /Rosomalai here was not like normal rasomalai we normally eat in Kolkata. It was large in size and more condensed. So in conclusion it is a good place for Bengali food lovers. And people who do not love Bengali cuisine that much, they can try Bengali food here, they would surely love the food.

It was evening and we were literally craving for some snacks and fritters. And when a Bengali craves for snacks and fritters, you get▪️Murgir Cutlet▪️ Fish finger▪️ Paneer finger▪️ Moghlai porota with alur domNext, all you gotta do is eat.To begin with, I am not the biggest fan of Moghlai Porota so was skeptical at first. But one bite in and I was floored. I never had such soft, crispy and flavorsome moghlai porota ever, anywhere. Hands down. The filling was just about adequate and had spread beautifully inside it making every bite a delight. And the Alur Dom was just the perfect accompaniment to the porota. The spices and the aroma of it all was enough for me to grab another bowl of it. Equally, the Paneer Finger had juicy slices of paneer that had been fried in a tempura batter. It was hot and crispy from the outside and juicy from the inside. Exactly how I want paneer fingers to be. Coming to every bongs favorite, the Fish Fingers. Many of you would know that nowadays, in most of the places, in fish finger you find an unwelcoming taste of unecessary and extra batter with a filling of something else but not fish. Here, it was exactly how a fish finger should be. You could take a bite and know that they used fresh fish. Again, one of the best I had in the long run. The Murgir Cutlet too had a taste worth remembering (or rather thinking about and salivating). The filling had subtle taste of coriander and the spices elevated it an all new level.Though we kept our choices simple but every dish tempted us to order more. And we did. Yet craved for more. Trust me, be it any occassion or just a casual meet up or even if its nothing, I believe, the food here at The Bhoj Company will simply elate your mood.

Fresh Lime soda , Aam Porar Sorbot, at the beginning and I didnt like the fresh lime soda.Aam porar Sorbot was nice. In Starter there were Panfried chilli chicken, crispy chilli baby corn , among them pan fried chilli chicken was not up to the mark, little salty but the babycorn was too good & crispy.. For Main course I have ordered Veg Manchurian, Kung Pao chicken , Egg Fried Rice, Chilli Garlic Noodles.. I like the Kung Pao chicken & Chilli Garlic Noodles the most.. At last we have tried Kesar Kulfi but that was so small in size , tastes good. Such A nice place For Dineout or Lunch... Do Visit Once .. You will love it

What strikes me first entering this restaurant... Is.. its quite a lavish setup... Might hit your pocket ... Lowering your chances of getting smaller quantity.. due to high prices in the Menu.. But surprisingly .. i found that the cost of the Foods is really Reasonable .. THE Bhoj Company.. A pure Bengali cuisine... Is equipped with some mouth lickering bengali cuisuines... Specially Bangladeshi Recipes.. are the star marked one.. starting from starters to Sweets... Every Food is eye catching, excellent quality as well as in quantity too.. A full Paisa wasool.. Place.. situated near Dalhousie ... Opposite of Lal Dighi ... Near Old Dalhousie Bus stand..

Heard a lot about this place Bhoj Comapny which specialises on Bengali cuisine ,located at Dalhousie BBD Bagh stands this beautiful looking restaurant serving delicious fare of quintessential Bengali food . The decor is not much grandeur , walls being dressed with some striking pictures of men teasing women . The restaurant has two storeys with efficient and helpful staffs . There is an all over soothing atmosphere with a nostalgic touch .Food will make you feel at home yet away from it. When I visited the placed I mainly focused on their Bengali cuisine .We started off with the likes of luchi and alur dom . This traditional Bengali breakfast is an all time favourite for most of us Bengalis . The luchis which is a typical bread made our of flour were very soft which was paired with alur dom. A pinch of salt and squeeze of lemon added to the alur dom tasted great . This combo ( 4 pieces each of luchi and alur dom ) comes at the cost of 120. Besides these can also be ordered separately .Next we went for one of their signature preparation called the gondhoraj chicken fry . Boneless chicken pieces cut in strips , marinated with secrect spices ,lots of ghondhoraj lemon juice coated with crumbs and fried till golden brown . Priced at 200 this wasnt simply good in quantity but was equally pleasing to bite onto.Moving on to the mains , I paired Basanti polao with mutton kasa. Another duo which has been winning hearts since ages . Basanti polao has been named after Basanti puja of Bengal ,this is a sweet rice preparation made specially for festivals or special occasions . Here the polao had lots of raisins, cashew nuts great balance of sweetness just like it should be . The mutton kasa could have been a little better in terms of flavours as I had high expectations from this place. Nevertheless chicken kasa being outstanding erased the presence of the former . It was served piping hot and the overall flavour had no spicy kick . It tasted equally good with rice as well as polao.Another interesting and most enjoyed part of my meal was the seel e bata murgi with sada bhat . Spicy boiled chicken made into a paste by a very traditional handheld grinding stone known a Seel Nora. A Bengali version of bharta which was extremely tasty and I thoroughly enjoyed every spoon of it.My friends also had few fish preparations which I didnt as I was already full. There was a prep namely seel e bata loita ,kochu saak die chingri bhapa which I heard had a great kick due to the presence of original mustard .Does any good hearty meal end without dessert? And what better than a traditional rosomalai . Strangely it looked like baked rosogolla at the first sight but was actually Gur er rosomalai which tasted heavenly . This was something I craved for more .They also serve Chinese which they have included thinking of their regular customers to have a chnge of taste to their palate which having Bengali cuisine continuously . May be next time I will taste few more dishes from this section .

** Location = Stephen House, Dalhousie BBD Bag Area.** Brief Intro = Bengali New Year is on the cards and me along with my foodie friends decided to hit on a place which serves authentic lipsmacking bengali food in affordable prices and being very close to my workplace, we decided to try The Bhoj Company.** Ambiance/Decor = Splendid yet simple decor, having enough seating capacities for full family time and the servers were very prompt in their service taking care of the customers throughout the meal is definitely another plus point.** Things tried = Their Poila Boisakh Special Menu is humongous and  we tried out some of them :♛ Gandhoraj Chicken Fry : Their signature dish and the aroma of Gandhoraj Lemon makes it impeccable.♛ Bengali Style Fish Fry : Another one of their specialty, they serve it with Kasundi which is an amazing condiment to this item.♛ Jhinge Alu Posto♛ Aloo Bhaja♛ Kochu paata Chingri Bhapa  : One would definitely remember their grandmas special dish, this is one is so perfectly cooked that the colocasia leaves(known as Kochu Pata in Bengali) melt in your mouth. Goes best with steamed rice(Gorom Bhaat)!♛ Maach Paturi  : The quintessential dish of every bengali celebration, this makes you go for more!♛ Potol Chingri Bharta.♛ Chingri Malaikari : Another marvel from their Kitchen. The coconut milk, the jumbo prawns, uffff!!!♛ Lote maach shile baata : The legendary bombay duck or loitya shutki of Bangal culture was made with enormous perfection.♛ Pabda Maacher Jhol begun Diye.♛ Chitol Maacher Muittha : Another one from the Bangal culture, the chital fish kofta is just legendary and they made it worth remembering.♛ Pompfret Bhuna : Authentic pomfret fish bhuna looks amazing and tastes memorable.♛ Chhanar Dalna.♛ Murgi Shile baata : Minced chicken paste, it was an amazing dish, a rare one indeed. Must Try!♛ Chitol Peti.♛ Ilish Biriyani : Ilish/Hilsa is love and biriyani double love, so this is just love! Recommended!♛ Sorshey Ilish : Another rare item from the bengali kitchen, the mustard hilsa combo was indeed great!♛ Mutton Biriyani.♛ Chicken Kosha.♛ Mutton Kosha : This is another must have item from their menu! Too Good!♛ Roshomalai and mishti doi to end the humongous spread!** Overall = I was mesmerised and too full to have anything more, the spread is indeed gargantuan covering from starters to mains and desserts, hats off to the team of The Bhoj Company for helping me recollect the dishes I had from my childhood days and it is definitely recommended, despite being located in Office Para this place receives excellent footfall. Located in the B.B.D Bag Dalhousie area, this restaurant is one of the finest bengali cuisine outlets in Kolkata.. Ambience is soothing, staffs are friendly, and above all, the food tastes excellent. The most famous dish is the thakis, and we had the mahabhoj thali which had the options of Ilish, chingri, bhetkir paturi, loita mach etc.. One mahabhoj thali is enough for 2 persons.. In addition we had laccha paratha and chicken dukbunglow.. Every dish was prepared with love and tasted awesome.. A must recommended place from my side.

I have been an ardent fan of The Bhoj Company till today. They have been quite arduous in meeting my eccentric demands till date.Having ordered Dum Pulao, Lau Chingri, Egg Curry and Katla Bhaja Jumbo with a small request that I be given a gada and not a peti piece. When the first container you open is not to your requirement (I was given a peti piece), everything else tastes bland and useless. This is the first time I am rating The Bhoj Company a 2, simply bcoz when I called them up, the person said that they didnt have a gada piece without considering that they do have an option of rejecting a particular dish or the entire order.Hospitality gone for a toss, this being the second day in consecutive at Kolkata.

The name The Bhoj Company kept popping up in my Facebook,Instagram and Zomato news feed since the last few months. Finally having got an opportunity to visit, I was extremely excited!Ambience gets a thumbs up at the very beginning . On entering, sweet melodious instrumental versions of Rabindra Sangeet floated amidst the two tired restuarent- a ground floor and the mezzanine one, walls of which are decorated with babu culture paintings.Coming to the menu, the first of the items to be served was murgir (chicken) cutlet, with kasundi and tomato ketchup - a classic related to Bengali cuisine.Luchi, the perfect phulko luchi, cholar daal and aloor dum greeted us next. While aloo had been a hit for me, the daal, I felt could have been better seasoned. Something was off.Next up were piping hot rice with jhinge aloo posto, kochu pata chingri bhapa and sil ey bata loitha. Jhinge poshto needs no description. Posto is always love. It generally happens that we dont taste food back home but are eager to have the same thing sitting in a restuarant. I never knew kochu pata(half pasted) prepared with shorshe(poppy seeds) and prawns in mustard oil could taste so so good. Same goes for loitha maach(Bombay duck), a mash with its perfect blend of spices (Bangladeshi style) is sure to remind someone of their grand mums cook.Next up was Doi Katla(Jumbo), a classic Bengali preparation. Each individual piece is of 250 gms,as we were informed by the staff. So, if you plan to order, be sure you dont end up wasting the item.Shorshe Ilish(hilsa, prepared in a mustard gravy) is another one of Bhoj specials, a huge jumbo piece. You can literally smell the intoxicating jhaaj of mustard oil!But wait, the best is yet to come. Priced at 500, this deliciousness, a bowl of Ilish Bharta, is a must must have. Never miss out on this guys! You can just have this with rice and be satisfied and give this place a 5point rating! I am certainly going back again, just for this. Also, a bengali lunch on a hot summer afternoon is incomplete without aamr chatni, which again was well prepared.Staff service is friendly and courteous. They even asked us Khabar bhalo legechey toh? (Was the food good enough?). :)And amidst all this, what won out hearts is the food is perfectly spiced, not too less, not too much. It reminds you of home-cooked food.Pricing is affordable and well within budget for the quantity provided. You surely gain many recommendations, Bhoj Company. Thank you!

My friend and I went to this place end of February. The decor was soothing, ambience was fine. We ordered mixed basil fried rice and garlic chicken. The staff and attendants all were polite and responsive. The only thing that disappointed me was the unusal waiting period before they served us our order. It was 25 minutes almost by my friends watch though we were told it would only take 10-12 minutes.I feel this place could really turn up as a nice place, decked up amidst the heart of Kolkata to provide with a taste of Bengali delicacies, just if they also take care of the simple fact that customers time is equally important.

Bengali cuisines are pride of Kolkata because it shows the culture, it shows the love we Bengalis put together to make our food. The Bhoj Company is doing the same thing to make every Bengali feel proud.Ambience & Service :-------------------------------------------------Taking about ambience they have gone with simple but elegant look of the restaurant because for we Bengalis our first priority is food quality not ambiance. If I talk about food quality they’re doing top notch work to make you fall in love with their food. That compliance with their excellent service and a large variety of dishes served beautifully on table, the overall experience makes it a must visit place. What we had in Lunch :-------------------------------------------------We were lucky enough to try their Pahela Baishakh special menu and the overall experience made me to write the following words…Bengali Style Fish Fry :-------------------------------------------------What we know as fish and chips in cafes, they presented it Bengali style. Textured fish fry with pure Bhetki filling served with french fries a lovely appetiser to start the Bengali meal.Lote Maach Shile Baata :-------------------------------------------------A dish that needs lots of effort to make and the result is whole new level of satisfaction to your tastebuds. Just compliment it with some steamed Basmati rice.Chitol Peti Jhol :-------------------------------------------------Believe it or not, it was my first time I tried Chitol Fish and luckily it was Peti means the belly part. My god, the taste was of another world. Why I haven’t tried this before. The oily part of the fish there’s nothing better to taste.Mutton Kosha :-------------------------------------------------Authentic Bengali style Mutton Kosha with perfect marination of spies and extremely well cooked making it softest meat ever, a perfect compliment with simple Basmati rice.Ilish Biryani :-------------------------------------------------Who doesn’t love Biryani? But when the Biryani is made with Bengalis most loved fish Ilish then it could be any better. Come on Chicken and Mutton Biryani is so old school. Just put an effort and go with Illish, I bet the taste is worth it.Conclusion :-------------------------------------------------A true Bengali can’t hold anymore after seeing these authentic Bengali dishes. The Bhoj Company is the perfect destination on this coming Bengali New Year. A very Happy New Year in advance to all reading this review.

We went there today for lunch. It is in proper place, easily noticeable, sufficient space, comfortable and two floor restaurant. Decor and ambience are impressive. We ordered for dehradun rice, Fish batter fry , kochupata chingri , Chicken Kosha , Ilish Bhapa and Aamer Chatney. We wanted to order Ilish Thali and Loitta Mach Sheel e bata but they said We couldnt get that because they didnt find good quality Loitta today. It may be possible but surprising fact was no Thalis were available today. But as they can serve all the items ( which are included in the list of thali) individually. So they should also serve the thali s easily in that logic. It seems intentional. Anyways They are very prompt in servicing I must say. Behaviour of the staffs are really good and polite.😇😇😇Fish batter fry was 110/- piece along with a sauce . It tasted amazingly delicious. Quality and quantity of fish stuffed is appreciable.😃😁😁Next comes rice and the dishes. All the items were served hot and fresh. ☺Coming to the taste buds, Kochupata Chingri was not up to the mark. Quantity was good.sufficient prawns were there but the taste was not so good. It tasted bitter most probably because of overcooking of mustard paste in the curry.😐😐About the chicken kosha its nice in taste. Well cooked Chicken 4 pieces and delicious gravy all we got. It was well treated with the price 200/- 😁😆Next came Elish Bhape. The hilsa or elish fish was big in size and taste was good. But again bitterness spoiled the taste of the gravy. And for this dish 490/- is overrated in our opinion.😴😯Last but not the least chutney came.50/- per plate. It was really good. It stole my moms tongue actually. 😄😉 .After all these items bill was 1290/- including GST.Thank you.

Their delectable menu starts from the best Fish Fry in town to lip-smacking Mutton Kosha, Chingri Macher Malaikari and the list is endless. We were recently at the Dalhousie branch of this exceedingly popular restaurant and had an absolutely delightful time.⏺️ Location- This branch is located at BBD Bag along the same lane as the old building of Lalit Great Eastern. It can be easily spotted from the main road.⏺️ Ambience- The place is extremely spacious and can accommodate a good 25-30 people on the ground floor. The 1st floor too is equally accommodative. The place is lit with dim lights with Rabin Sangeet playing in the background.
