This was not the case at Restoran Mandarin.One of the hallmarks of a restaurants ability to tastefully make a good dish is based on the variety of their menu.Restoran Mandarin goes all in on the Asian cuisine genre, and for that they have mastered the tastes of the dishes they serve.Based on the menu and other peoples comments their primary specialty is Peking duck. Peking duck is used in different dishes, and in the dishes we had (red curry with peking duck, kungpao duck with cashews and pickled duck in a crispy spring roll with mango dipping sauce) it was experienced differently enough and didnt seem redundant. Each one was absolutely delicious and I would order again.A two course meal (sharing the appetizer) and a few drinks will cost around 6000 rubles. The portions are filling, although Im sure by the end of it, youll be scraping your plate and wanting more.

Called ahead, found a table without much trouble.The place is cozy and easy on the eyes, good music, attentive and polite staff.The wait wasnt too long.Ordered Crispy Duck, some noodles, green curry starter and roasted tea.The portions are generous and the prices are affordable.Noodles were tasty, with a lot of meat but Id prefer more vegetables and a bit less fat.Green curry was suuuuper tasty. Totally recommend you try it!The duck was superb, garnished with sweet leek, cucumber, a bit of tender duck skin and some really good hoisin sauce.Ordered some tea and deserts too.Overall, a very cozy place with good staff and excellent food.P.S.: the deserts are DIVINE! Real good place in the heart of the city. Very nice Beijing duck... Many dishes were adopted up to European tastes. Only 2 sad things: no 100 years egg salad anymore & no fried fruits Chinese style.

The interior is nicely designed and has a good atmosphere. The beef tongue noodles in broth was delicious. The duck wonton soup would have been delicious if it was seasoned. The cocktails I had were nice. I didnt appreciate waiting twenty minutes before even a drink order was taken when the restaurant was not full. My entree and main were brought out at the same time so I had to eat my entree quickly so my main didnt go cold. When I asked for the dessert menu the waiter asked if I wanted another of the same cocktail. As I started speaking to order something different and to order my dessert he just walked away, I dont know why. Ive been waiting another ten minutes so Im writing this review.

The ambience was okay, seating is unusually low which is uncomfortable for dining. The service was rather good. For a non-smoker it isnt a great place as it just smells of sheesha. Food was average. We ordered vegetarian dumplings, vegetable rice (was super oily). We ordered Heart of Russia tea which was just made from a tea-bag, I was quite disappointed especially with the tea. They do not have much variety in lemonades. Id say its okay for one time but I wouldnt go there again.

Shocking customer service.Upon receiving an incredibly small portion, I asked to speak to the manager as it was very disappointing. I realise that it is not necessarily their fault however I was met with the manager who simply provided me the legal menu and an a matter of fact attitude. Out right refused to lift a finger to provide any recompense to the situation and was happier to see us leave than retain 4 customers. Extremely disappointed with the service.
