Quite a good place to have some Japanese, Chinese or Thai food. The price is a bit on the high side. Ordered some Japanese and Thai food. Few dishes lacked flavours TBH. The octopus was not at all fresh. Think twice before ordering it. Pork, lamb and tuna was not available. The server was pretty friendly and knowledgeable. I do recommend this place but if you have any better alternative, then go for it.

A good restaurant with a mixed taste ratings.. The ambience is really soft and comfortable. The place was well sanitized and very clean. I had ordered for Tom yum soup and Thai chicken for starters soup was really good, but Ive had better, Thai chicken was tasty. For mains I had ordered for Nasi kompung ( malay style fried rice with chicken) and chicken teriyaki.. Fried rice was really good and chicken was little on the sweeter side but with sesame in top it tasted quite good.. The food was really good but few veg starters and mains were just okay kinda tasting..

If you are fond of asian cuisines then wasabee is a perfect place for you. They have a huge varieties of authentic japanese, thai and chinese items.Wasabee is located at deshopriyo park. Just 2min. walking distance from priya cinema hall. Nearest metro station is Kalighat.Ambience of this place is very beautiful and calm. They have seating arrangement of more or less 30people at once.Service is prompt and staffs are very courteous and polite and they have great knowledge about the items they serves.Few dishes from wasabee that I had tried are,🍴Som tom thai salad, main ingredient of this salad is unripe papaya, other ingredients are carrot, bellpeppers, coriander and it was topped with lots of peanuts. The salad was equally sweet and spicy.🍴Pepper garlic fish dry, thick slices of fish fried until crisp and then tossed with chopped garlic, onion, bell peppers and pepper. Taste was amazing, mildly spicy. Fried slices of fish was tender and fresh.🍴Ebi uramaki, Uramaki is a contemporary style of Maki sushi that is described as a roll that is inside out, with the rice on the outside and ebi is a style of preparation of shrimp in japan. It had shrimp on its center and rice on the outer side. If you are trying sushi for the first time then you should definitely try this one. It was so flavourful and delicious.🍴Veg yaki soba noodles, it is a japanese stir fried noodles. Yakisoba noodles are made from wheat flour. It was prepared by frying the noodles with fresh veggies like carrot, cabbage. Taste was different from regular noodles but scrumptious.🍴Chicken mee goreng, it is a mainly indonesian dish prepared by frying noodles with veggies and chunks of chicken. Its a spicy fried noodle dish.🍴 Goong pad pak (prawn), its a thai gravy based dish. Golden fried prawns cooked in oyester sauce and pepper with some green veggies. Gravy was mildly spicy. This dish is highly recommended from my side.🍴Burmese curry, a thick gravy based dish. It was rich, lightly sweet, flavourful with tender medium sized chunks of chicken. It was served with steamed rice. A must try from this place. From the dessert i loved most caramel custard and blow hot and blow cold. Blow hot and blow cold is basically fried ice cream. One scoop of vanilla icecream coated with finely shredded coconut, then golden fried and topped with chocolate sauce. Taste was amazing.Overall i had a great experience here.Quantity and quality of each item was upto the mark.

Wasabee is the citys first stand-alone oriental restaurant to serve authentic Japanese cuisine alongside Burmese, Chinese, Malaysian, Indonesian and Thai.It is located just beside of Deshapriya park or more promptly it is 5 minutes walking distance from Kalighat metro. They also give preferences to the health of the customers which is one of the positive side of this outlet. They dont use Monosodium Glumate ( Ajinamotor) on their different cuisine. The ingredients are imported from the foreign countries. Most importantly the price of all the items are moderate but it will satisfy your taste buds .I strongly recommend everyone to explore this place and try their lipsmacking delicacies.

Wasabee is located near Priya Cinema Hall. They have two outlets, one in Deshapriya Park and the other one is at Kalikapur. We had Tori Miso (soup), Non-veg Mushi Gyoza (Dumplings), Tori Katsu(Fried chicken) -must try, Tori Teriyaki Maki(Sushi). We were skeptical about trying the traditional Sushi which is wrapped in the raw fish skin, instead we tried the chicken one which was amazing. For the main course we had, Chicken Udon Noodles, Pla Phad Preaw Wan(Betki fish), Oriental chicken. And for the dessert we had: Blow Hot/Blow Cold(highly recommended) and Tempura ice cream.

Had miso ramen and tongkotsu ramen, both were not good. The ramen was hastily prepared and the noodles used were not the correct kind and slightly undercooked. The soup in the ramen bowl was mostly a combination of soy sauce and vinegar and tasted horrible. The presentation was underpar and also had to order chicken since pork was not available. The restaurant is a cramped 4 table restaurant and there is barely any privacy. This is not where you go for fine dining , this is where you go for cheap faux Japanese Cuisine.

Authentic oriental cuisine at WasabeeVisit Wasabee and try out dishes that arent available elsewhere in Kolkata that too of the highest quality .In modern day whenever i go out for lunch or dinner i get restaurant serving that old school fried rice , biryani or pizza , pasta and for a foodie like me it feels monotonous .Here comes the saviour in the name of Wasabee. Located at Deshapriya park , just a few steps away from priya cinema hall this outlet is a clear example of how beautiful a place can be. Not much spacious yet doesnt fail to amuse you upon visit with its stunning decor . The ambience will take you to a journey, somewhere at Japan or China . There is also a live sushi counter where professional chefs showcase their art of making different variants of sushi . The ingredients used in the preparation of different dishes arent available here at Kolkata hence they are imported . Considering all this the price is just a bit higher than other contemporary places where you wont get authentic food.Coming to the food we tasted , the names may confuse you but you always have the option of wonderful staffs who are always ready to help you .To start off the meal we hadPepper garlic fish dry : Just a perfect execution of finely cooked fish tossed in proper garlic sauce .Crab stick temaki: Temaki is a hand rolled cone shaped sushi. A variant of authentic sushi roll where the sticky rice stuffed with fresh veggies and processed crab meat stick is rolled over a nori sheet with hand . It was outstanding to taste , didnt knew that a simple sticky rice with veggies would taste amazing until now.Ebi uramaki : Another variant of sushi where Ebi stands for prawn and maki stands for roll , uramaki is a type of roll where the rice is supposed to be outside and the sea weed is hiddem inside. This version of sushi came up as many people didnt like the texture of seaweed and hence they put it inside. Again a winner of a dish. Undoubtedly they have mastered sushi making and these are definately recommended from my side.Next we moved on to the mains in which we hadBurmese curry with chicken : Another new preparation for me , mostly i find thai curries being served in restaurants but this one was different , although it had Coconut but it had distinct flavours from thai curry. The richness of the curry was due to the presence of turmeric , garam masala and fish sauce. Overall it was a mildly spicy dish that i paired with veg burnt garlic rice .Chicken thai green curry : Another traditional Thai dish which uses coconut milk for its base and other veggis like eggplant , mushrooms for its preparation. The chicken chunks inside the curry added to its strength. Pairing this with steamed rice would be the best option .Yaki soba noodles veg : Yakisoba is a Japanese sauce and noodles tossed in this sauce is called yaki soba noodles which is a very colourful preparation that makes use of green and purple cabbages, bell peppers baby corns , carrots and other veggis . The taste of the Yakisoba noodles is similar to that of sweet and sour sauce . It is basically a mixture of soya sauce , oyster sauce , worchestershine sauce and sugar. Certainly something out of the box yet amazingly tasty . You can have this withGoong pad pak (prawn ) : Another impressive preparation made with big sized prawns coated in a batter and stir fried in oyster sauce with some thai greens. For the desserts we hadBlow hot blow cold : Fried ice cream given a fancy name where the outside is hot and inside is cold. Vanilla ice cream scoop with powdered coconut then deep fried and served instantly with chocolate sauce poured over it . The beautiful golden yellow ice cream scoops were jaw dropping and it tasted equally good. Finally we had caramel custard . The texture of the custard was perfect and it was creamy as well . The caramel wasnt overpowering and hence the finished product was too good to end the day with.

This place scores for menu and pricepoint. A sushi boat with 12 pieces of sushi at 1000+ with fresh items and a live sushi counter. Wasabi is conveniently a Japanese plant with a thick green food, usually used in cooking and as an accompaniment for raw fish. Being named after it, this restaurant definitely comes up with a whole lot of Oriental Japanese items to try from. The interiors are luxurious and serene, and make for a fine casual dining arrangement. Not spread over a large area, but service is very good and prompt! If youre a Sushi person, or just someone whos extremely fascinated by the culture and the wonders the Japanese cuisine has to offer, this is definitely your place to go. Try a bowl of the heartwarming Ramen or improve your chopstick skills at the Sashimi, youve only got newer things to try and learn when it comes to food, at this place. If youre visiting this place, do try their Prawn Tom Kha as it is one of the most comforting and appetitizing soups Ive had here, with just the right flavour balance. Other recommendations would have to be the Mixed Mee Goreng, and Chicken Mee Foon.Take a bunch of friends and show them your newfound enlightenment of the Japanese cuisine at this restaurant, which is willing to offer just the same! Have a great time! 😄

We visited Wasabee with some of my friends . The ambience at this outlet of Wasabee is quite pretty keeping and closely resembles all the art and decors of China. The food here is exceptional and some of the food we tried here are --1. Prawn Tom Kha - Prawn Tom Kha tastes amazing here. The coconut milt, and the Marine spices in it with ample of Prawns is something you gonna love a lot from this place. This is highly recommended from this place.2. Tori Tempura Uramaki - This particular Susi preparation had chicken it it with the regar Susi veggies. It came 6 in a plate with different colourful ingredients. Served with a creamy sauce and soy sauce, this is something you gotto try at Wasabee.3. Dry Schezwan Chicken - This was spicy, tangy and really flavourful at the same time. A good starter.4. Mixed Mee Goreng - This was my first time having Mee Goreng. It was really flavourful, there was a strong garlic taste and the amount of chicken and prawn in it was ample.5. Chicken Mee Foon - This was rice noodles with lots and lots of veggies in it. It was light but flavourful6. Octopus Schezwan Sauce - Again this was something worth trying. The octopus was chewy and properly complemented the schezwan sauce. You will love this dish a lot if you love Octopus.7. Hot Brownie with chocolate ice-cream - We had this for dessert , and the extreme softness of the brownie impressed me a lot.Pocket pinch for two is a bit high here - Rs 1500 for two, however the food here is really unique and good.

I purchased a Chicken Thai Green Curry, A bowl of Nasi Goreng, plain white steamed rice, a horrendous portion of starters in prawns & a fish in black bean/ soya bean sauce. No sauces, condiments were provided with the meal or starters, the in house sauce is definitely from a packaged bottle.A premium price of almost INR 2000.00 or so for a Indo Chinese style preparation of food which is being sold by common chains on every block. No authencity or originality to taste or presentation of food. Instead of Japanese and Malaysian cuisines, the food was typical Indo Chinese prep.Disappointed after this, hope the main branch at EM Bypass can do better. After all during these tough times we need to show our support to original locals working hard to survive in this tough market everday

21/06/2019So it was my birthday and in this occasion we planned to visit this place. Last year we planned to visit the kalikapur branch but it didnt happen because of the long distance and all. So when they opened their branch in desapriya park about five months ago, I was literally happy! 😂 Finally, were here.Since this place doesnt have so many reviews like the other branch I was worried that maybe it has been closed or else. But, thank god, it was open. From outside and inside, its beautiful in decor. We stepped in and asked for recommendations, about sushi ; Since it was our first time. Though I did some researches and all! xD I was a bit confused between Maki and tempura that what should I have. They said maki would be the best. And heres the other things that we tried.1. Char siu Pork spare ribs - can not be described in words. Too much soft, delicate, juicy and succulent. Delicious, adorable it was! Smokey and star anise flavoured. Goes well with kimchi salad. I could easily cut the pieces without any pressure. Completely Hot and mind blowing. A Must try.2. Tori Teriyaki Maki - I already knew that japanese have so many rules in their dining table. Now Ive practically seen it. They serve wasabi sauce along with it, mixed it with soy sauce then spread on the maki Rolls. But it took us a while to ruin that beautiful pallet of sushi. And damn it was delicious! And each of them, is too much to fill your tummy. If youre planning to have other dishes, try four pieces of it. Id certainly try the other kind of sushi now.3. Burnt garlic mixed rice - served along with delicate and soft shrimps and chicken pieces. After having two starters, we were already full. The rice was light and it was perfect. We loved it!4. Roasted pork in hot garlic sauce - Completely satisfied. Great accompany with the rice. The pork pieces were delectable and adorable. Quantity was more than enough. Have some kimchis with this.Personally I feel there should be more staff. But its okay. That one person helped us a lot. And we didnt have place for desserts. Well definitely visit to try more. Thanks for making my birthday special. ❤️Keep it up team Wasabee !

Since this outlet is comparatively small, it can hold approx 30-40 people at a time. The variety of food items that I have tried are-🔸Crab Stick Temaki🔸Ebi Uramaki🔸Pepper Garlic Fish🔸Veg Yaki Soba Noodles🔸Mixed Yaki Misi Chahan Rice🔸Burmese Curry and Thai Green Chicken Curry served with steamed rice.🔸Goong Pad Pak🔸 Schezwan Fish🔸 Chicken Garlic Fried Rice🔸 Chicken Mee Goreng🔸Caramel Custard🔸Blow hot and Blow Cold (Fried Ice Cream)Temaki is a hand roll sushi where the seaweed is on the outside and the rice is on the inside. Such dish was Crab Stick Temaki. It was huge in portion and consists of 3 whole pieces. Uramaki is also a hand rolled sushi but it is an inside out roll which means that the rice is on the outside. Such dish was the Ebi Uramaki. It consists of prawn, fish roe, mayonnaise, avocado and cucumber. Both the sushis were amazing in taste and wholesome.Soba Noodles are made from buckwheat thats why they are a little blackish in colour. Yakisoba noodles are basically stir fried noodles and are typically flavoured with condiment similar to Oyester sauce. The noodles were delicious and soft and tasted really good with the sides that they have. I will be talking about that in the next post. Yaki Misi Chahan rice is the Japanese version of fried rice. Here the rice is sticky and big in shape than the typical rice that we normally have. It was my first time of trying such a dish and I absolutely loved it. I have paired it with Burmese Curry and it went great with it. The Thai Chicken Green curry was another favourite from there. It was a tad bit salty but it tasted heavenly. So did the Burmese Curry. Both are coconut based curries but the Burmese Curry is on the spicier side. Chicken Mee Goreng is basically chicken noodles. Mee Goreng is noodles and Nasi Goreng is rice. Both the noodles and the garlic fried rice tasted amazing. Goong Pad Pak is fried prawn in cornflour and then made in Oyester sauce. It was served hot. The prawns in it was amazingly soft and tender. Last but not the least, the fried ice cream. The fried ice cream is a scoop of vanilla flavoured ice cream rolled in sugar and coconut crumbs and then deep fried and topped with chocolate sauce. This was my first visit to wasabee and I was more than happy with my visit. Moreover their service and hospitality is really commendable. They explained to us everything about the dishes and its ingredients and all the other questions that we had. The price is a little steel here because all the ingredients are imported.Until Next Time.

Small in size, but the ambience full of life. EBI Uramaki ( Sushi made of Prawn, Panko Fish made of Bhetki) is so good in taste they serve it very well. Assist you to take the right one from their menu as per your choice. Food presentation is very nice, clear & cleanly. Love the taste of the Japanese Food.
