Temple is beautiful. I dont know the history, but it appears to be quite old. Only problem is many a times stray dogs take shelter inside the temple as in many other temples eg Tremboli Temple, Kolhapur, & Narsoba Wadi. Yes, stray dogs too are creation of God, but hygiene is compensated and strays in temple areas are a danger to human well being.
