I wouldnt say that the food is immensely great but definitely good!! More than the food I love the place because its almost never crowded and its actually upstairs!! 😊 they serve Italian and English food. The location is brilliant, its right opposite an old Catholic cathedral. So its nice to pick a spot overseeing the church and food at the same time. Its best if you have good company. A cozy place and good ambience. The staff, they are incredibly nice and fair prices.

The best Italian food in the country. All the ingredients are imported from Italy for the authentic taste.Theres a live music to treat your eyes along with your taste buds. The owner and chief chef Mr. Thomas makes sure that his guests are enjoying their food and always ask check them at every table.High recommend for Authentic Italian food in Cochin.

Amazing Italian food. The bruschetta was extremely authentic, the coolers (drinks) were superb, took me right back to Tehran. Pizza was sublime, we had an arabiatta which was good, not as epic as the pizza.Definitely not for those of you looking for Indian Italian but if you want the real stuff this is where you wanna be. I must mention that I was pleasantly surprised to note that the chorizo d pampalona was authentic! Really surprised! a lot of restaurants say it is but seldom is it authentic.Met the owner Thomas, great conversations and he is super at recommending delicacies off him menuAtmosphere is real nice and honestly this is one of the top 2 places in fort kochi for me (once you are overloaded with the South Indian food that is). If you are after 9pm expect to have the place to yourself

The food is fresh and heals the soul! The pizzas, the pastas, the olive oil dressing on the food and so so much to go on and the live song sessions from Matt in the evening. The best italian food you can find in kochi period. One down side is they dont take cards but you wont find that a problem when you have the food.

I had a rather basic pizza for already 350 rupees. It was rather small, not only in diameter but also the pizza bread was thin. One who has been to proper Italian restaurants in Europe probably gets disappointed. The taste is pretty good though, only thing is it got served very fast, maybe deep frozen?! The waiters are Indian style, dont look very happy or enthusiastic, but I guess thats due to the culture!?

A gem. Our first night in Cochin and we were very impressed with this Italian restaurant! We found it in our Lonely Planet book and after wondering around the area we decided that this restaurant looked the best. A wide selection of authentic Italian food, delicious drinks and outstanding service certainly exceeding a western standard! Our host found us a table on the lovely terrace and we had an onion, bell pepper and mushroom pizza; marinated olives; a tomato, basil, onion and olive oil salad before finishing with profiteroles. The food was faultless and great value, I cant recommend this restaurant highly enough. A must visit in Cochin. The ambiance and atmosphere is quaint and quirky with great music, right up my street.

I ate here twice during my time in Kochi and was impressed. It may be a little more expensive than some places, but the food is very good. I had a veg pasta and salad on first visit. Pasta was tasty and cooked properly, and while the salad was simple carrot and lettuce, the vegetables were fresh and topped with a very tasty dressing.Second visit I had a veg pizza and another salad. It is so nice to occasionally find proper pizza in India. People who have left reviews saying you can get better pizza at Dominos, obviously know nothing about pizza. The pizzas here at Upstairs are much closer to authentic Italian pizza than Ive had almost anywhere in India.Once again the salad on my second visit was simple lettuce and tomato, but once again a home made dressing topped it well. The staff and management were all very efficient and helpful. Well done, Ill definitely be back on my next visit to Kochi

Its an okay place to eat. The service wasnt the fastest but friendly. The taste was good but compared to what you get rather expensive. A lot of things from the daily menu werent available, I wonder why they put it on the daily menu?I probably wouldnt go there again. This is mainly due to the prices not to the quality of the food.

Was a bit wary of eating Italian food in Italy but was pleasantly surprised. The ingredients are all shipped from Italy to get the authentic taste... and probably why it may seem pricey to a few. Quality flavoursome ingredients, average service and nice views from the upper floor windows. Mains will cost around 350-700 rupees.

My first non-indian meal after months here, and it did NOT disappoint! From the warm welcome, to the chat and great recommendations from the friendly chef, the vibe was great. And the food: proper cheese! proper cream! proper pasta! proper olives! proper bread! It is true that by Indian standards the menu is a little pricey, (400-600 rupees for a meal), but all of the ingredients come from Europe and the chef has international experience (including 3 years in Italy), so this food is legit. The only thing missing is wine!I definitely recommend and might just return tomorrow to try the pizza (I had the carbonara).

Undoubtedly one of the best Italian restaurants in kochi.Lovely ambience of the Italian atmosphere. The drinks are just lovely.Must try the pizzas if not the pastas. Not crowded mostly and the staff is very polite in explaining to you your options of combinations. To get a good and thorough meal, Id suggest you gather up a little knowledge on the different types of pasta, just so that you dont want to get disappointed.Icing : theres was a man singing with the piano two out of the four times Ive visited, so if youre lucky . . .

Since I happened to go to this place at an odd time, and I was alone there, I got the kindest attention without it being cloying. The staff were friendly and customised a pizza for me that was just the thing needed for a hungry soul. The pizza crust was thin and crispy - so much better than the POSH Jamies Pizzeria in Mumbai! AND The cinnamon iced tea was strangely delightful. Definitely worth going again!
