Im not much satisfied with this restaurant; with a lot of eager and hunger I ordered a Chinese chicken, but the dish really made my tongue upset. I couldnt even enjoy the food bcz it was too salty. I dont know the taste of other dishes,my first visit to grand pavilion didnt made me satisfied

Amazing food. A perfect blend of authentic taste and modern style. One can pretty much order anything and expect a minimum guarantee on the taste. The service might not be the best, but for such a crowded place its understandable I would say. The portions are fairly good. Not a cheap eat, but definitely a tasty one.

Food is delicious! They have converted hotel rooms into private dining rooms. This helped because we had 2 noisy kids with us. 100% privacy.

Middle to upper class dining. Pricey. Friendly & attentive service. Nice layout. Had the best parotha in Kerala here. Fluffy, light & can be eaten on its own or with their rich curries. The mutton fry was also nice. Tender, juicy & packed with flavor. Wash it all down with some cold beers. Overall a great lunch spot.

Grand remains grand for years! Too good the food and the service. The chicken roast, beef fry and Kerala Porotta we had was awesome!!! Will visit this place again, soon.

Their way of behaviour was nice. And gave separate room for dine-in. They gave food on time. Met all our requirements.

Without a doubt, the grand hotel is a historical Kochi establishment. For years its stood in the midst of M.G Road as a landmark. This isnt my first time here, Ive come here multiple times over the years. I believe what keeps it going is this self propagating machine that is historical precedence. The place has been offering fine dining even before Kochi became the Kochi it is today. What it has done however is fall behind on the quality of the food. Sure they offer a wide range of cuisines for you to enthusiastically run your fingers across the menu, but the missing ingredient is the lack of flair or passion, the beef fry and porotta which youd be hard pressed to mess up was disappointing. The porotta was almost certainly reheated frozen porotta , and the beef fry had spicy outer layer that was a complete stranger to the meat inside. The chicken parmesan too was flat tasting. The messiahs of the meal were the tempura prawns and the biriyani, the prawns deep fried to perfection in a beautifully smooth batter served with a honey , oil , chilli based sauce. The biriyani harkens you back to the days of the classic biriyani with a whole egg , back to the days before the invasion of mandhi. The souffle was inspired. Come here to be part of a Kochi that has proudly stood here as a symbol of persistence in the face of change and while youre there, have the food too i guess.

The first thing which will strike your mind is the Meeshaa Dharwan to invite you in. Even though he has a serious look, talking to him will unearth the soft and smily guy, from the inside. I have been seeing him at the same position since the last 10 years.The grand pavilion is my most favorite place to go when in Kochi. The thali and its accompaniments are of top quality and authentic Kerala taste. The karimeen pollichadu is a must have dish for treating your palates.The unlimited Kerala papadam supplied on the table is a treat to dive into.One of the most elegant visitors come into this place.They also have a good wine list to keep your spirits high.The newly added pastry counter has got one of the best pastry cake line ups. Tiramisu and the caramel custard is the two must have for the sweet tooths.I would love to go back whenever I am in Kochi.

Amazing seafood and cocktails

What was once a landmark, a prominent must have Identity of Kochi has now become very average. The taste what once this Restaurant gave and is in our nostalgia is no longer the same to be relished. Pricey yet very average food. Their biriyani lacked attention to detail like fried onions, and their paneer butter masala just wasnt rich enough . Being a vegetarian I cannot comment on the non vegetarian dishes however for vegetarians this isnt a really good option.

Recommended for the homely kerala lunch. If you want someone to taste what kerala cuisine is, should try their lunch. The accompaniments, knotty curries are pretty good as their specials. Was not very happy with the karimeen fry this time, tasted like refrigerated fish and not the fresh one that you normally get served here. Kingfish was delicious.

Dont have dine-in in the evening

Good food. Good ambience but highly congested. Waiting for food makes us boring. In my last visit it took 45 minutes to get the order placed and an hour to deliver on table. Even though the taste of food served drives us back to Grand. Thank you guys for the tastiest good in town.

This place has definitely lost its charm!We went for lunch recently. The place was pretty packed as usual.We ordered a mutton biryani, a fish meal and a pasta bolognese.Lets talk positive. Service was fast. No reusable menus. Mutton biriyani was pretty generous with the meat and rice.Now to the negatives : Pasta Bolognese was very bad. They has used some really bad oil wich spoiled the whole eating experience.The meals was just ok.. no longer the old standards. Currys were pretty meh! The papad they give usually was also fried in some old oil or some cheap oil.Also mum asked for an extra helping of the payasam, which even after reminding the waiters twice, never made it to our table.

I go there for theres eatery. In that angle this is a considerable option. I think waiting time is little more for food items. Ambience car parking area is there. From a family mans perspective they can start a eatery exclusive area so that will be fine for families especially with kids.

The restaurant is suitable for grant dining, or a pleasant get together with family. Definitely not for a low budget meal. It offers very pleasant service, great ambience sufficient space for dining. It also have a big parking area.

One of the oldest restaurants in Ernakulam. Still maintains its charm. Forget the naive coarse attitude of service persons or noisy bright lighted restaurant, ultimately the taste buds are pleased. The authentic tastes are maintained on all recipes. We can embed ourselves in our world with those tastes while the busy crowded noisy non attractive restaurant moves on.

Grand is an old brand eatery house at Ernakulam. Their sea food menu is remarkably marvelous. The rest dishes are average good ones. Easy accessible, ample space for parking, reachable by metro.

Its a sad state. This restaurant, for that matter, the Grand Hotel, which houses Grand Pavilion, is a case study how an iconic place can become irrelevant.l have been a somewhat regular guest in Grand Hotel and is witness how an excellent hotel with a very good restaurant and a fabulous bar can go down in every respect of guest servicing. Whether its front desk, room service, restaurant, all are going bad to worse.Just hope Management does something about it.

One of the oldest hotels in Cochin but maintained to the core .Nice spacious rooms and a great restaurant with yummy food. Only issue is waiting time for getting a table,always crowded but wil forget everything once we taste the food.Veg and non veg is available but non veg is better especially fish items like Pearl spot or Karimeen pollichathu . Breakfast items are also nice. Bar is there but liquor is served in the restaurant also . Overall a nice experience 👍

We have no opinion about the food here as we never got any after waiting for more than one hour. Not even the starters were served. Also when we complained to the manager, we were just told it will come soon but again no food was served after waiting another 10 mins. None of the staff bothered to apologize and we finally decided to leave without eating. It completely spoiled the family dinner for celebrating a birthday today
