Great sandwiches, ambience! Coffee is a must try. Quaint little place to enjoy your meals, very hospitable staffNice cafe in courtyard of merchant building with decent coffee and nice aspect. Next to boutique shop and libraryBeautiful place with a library, design store and a big garden with a little door too the sea ! πβ¨ you should go!
Good ambience is the only thing i love here. Average food and service. just not worth money you pay. Hope they can improve it and I will come back again, because I love this place.Good ambience is the only thing i love here. Average food and service. just not worth money you pay. The Pepper House is an amazing little cafe/restaurant that captures the best of Indian cuisine and western food. The vibe relaxed, the air breezy off the water and cool and the people running it lovely. It is probably the best coffee I had in India... Fort Kochi sometimes feels over touristy - this place is an escape... loved it!!!
One of the prime heritage properties we have in fort kochi. It was built at the time when the Dutch had trade links with kochi. It used to the dockyard and ware house for the Dutch traders. Now the property is owned by the Avenue Hospitality group. This is a pretty good hangout spot in fort kochi. The coffeeβs are great. They procure the coffee beans from Black Baza Coffee Farms. Must try the espresso here at Pepper house cafe. βοΈ
The ambiance is ok.To talk about the space--it is a cafe and a library.-the parking place is very limited.-the Sean from there is superb(sea view)The library is good.I dont know about the food( I went there for visiting binnale). There is a water shower too in the middle of the loan(you can see on the image).
If you are crazy about the movie Premam and you do remember those little nuances with George, Jojo and Celine in the movie at Cafe Agape in the movie, well be informed that the setting is right here at the Pepper house in Fort Kochi. Very nice ambience, and they have deliberately left the walls, and the structure untouched and un-whitewashed to retain the scribbles, the profecies, the declarations of romance and the art work on the wall as it is. Great food, ice cream and give you the feel of being with characters of Premam. Take a look at Celine having the red velvet cake in the movie Premam and you might just order it here too :)
Amazing ambience but menu could have been better. They could at least have build up their popularity from Premam movie. Coffee was from barista but could have been done much better. Menu lacked items which would go well with a coffee on a cold and rainy day. A good place to meet up with old friends and spend some time. Good space for kids to run around. The management could have opened/ developed the river facing side with places to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee or have dinner.
Amazing food, amazing ambience and moreover if you are there for the Kochi-Muziris Biennale, there would also be some artworks displayed. They also have a cool yet expensive store to buy some contemporary jewellery, books and bags. The coffee is great, the bathroom is okayish but a bit out of budget. Good view though! #cafe #kochi
Kochi Muziris Biennale venued hereNice place
Tasty food...... appealing ambiance.....
The place has good choice for food. Great ambience, the prices are really high. The fact that you cant use a digital camera unless you pay for it, is a drawback.
Cream of the beet soup was good. Good atmosphere....
Pepper house ... wow place to be .. awesome pastas they serve ... and in my opinion one of the best coffee place around .. kept everything in beauty .. the garden cafe area anyone can make a wow indeed .. the personals are extremely helpful pleasant and keen to make us happy and more .. thanks pepper house
The USP of this cafe is that a scene in Premam movie was shot here. It houses a nice library for people to ponder and the ambience of this place is a pleasant sight. The foods moderately priced and the selection is okay.
The food and the ambience is supercool. And its much affordable too. The old Mohammed Rafis song makes the ambience a little more beautiful one. Worth it
The food is above average , but the ambience is amazingly beautiful and youre in for a treat if its on a rainy day. Must visit when youre around Fort Kochi
Calm and quiet place to spend time with friends with a cup of tea/coffee. Courtyard is maintained well with loans.. Over all setup is good and maintained well....
You got some really delicious home made lemonade here. I really loved the mint one. Unfortunatelly there is no WiFi but there are a lot of books to read. Itβs a cosy and calm place.
Absolutely love the place . The ambiance it has is fantastic. In the film Preman , certain shots were taken from here
Nice place to sit and have a coffee or tea. Its nice to walk around the old building and see a traditional Kerala building. We went during the Kochi Biennale, an interesting venue to host art.
Just rating the cafe:Expensive but not tasty, small portions, nothing special or surprisingly good. Therefore to expensive
Good Ambience π
Food is not much in quantity. Ambience is food. Over priced because of ambience I think.
Awesome ambinace nice place near the lake side with cool breeze. Its one of the top ten Cafes in Kochi.
Wonderful place to enjoy a coffee with some bites. The area is nice too!
Perfect spot to spend an afternoon - browse their library, buy some curios and have a great meal (we had the chicken tartines which were excellent). The coffee is fab.
Great cafe. You cant miss it although its a bit expensive.
Had passion fruit lemonade which was really good. Good ambience.
A stylised cafe and also a confirmed venue of Kochi Muziris Biennale
Wow place for chillin n reading and cafe
A decent cafe for quick bites. The cafe looks cozy and minimalistic from outside. The menu is pretty limited and its a long wait. Pasta here is delicious. The cafe gives a beautiful view of the harbour and there are some artifacts on the other side of the cafe. Also this is the famous cafe from the Malayalam movie premam.
Its a great teahouse and a get-together place.
Most beautiful place in Kochi
Its good place for hangout with friends and provide good ambience to customers..
Kind of a retro cafe, and the ambience is just beyond words
Pepper House is a waterfront heritage property located on the Kalvathi Road in between Fort Kochi and Bazar RoadI visited this place on kochi Muzris Biennale 2016 edition. Neatly maintained.
The ambience of this place is awesome but the food is average and overpriced for sure. I guess the pricing is aimed at foreign tourists.
I loved the venue of this cafe, it had a very old time charm to it. One can sit and watch the ships pass by, it has a very romantic feel! The food is delicious as well with vegetarian and vegan options ! I loved the iced coffee with coconut milk and honey here. The library was my favourite part of the experience here and so was the design boutique. They have done a great job in bringing unique designers and products which makes my shopping experience so much better! Will be going back for sure :) is
Good cafe
This place seems closed for a long time now.We wasted our time! The status was show as open in google.Pls update!
A very calm and nice place with really good ambiance. They offer a variety of dishes and the food is really nice. The staffs were really nice and well behaved. highly recommended if you are searching for a calm place to sit, talk and enjoy your food. The cafe has a library attached to it also. The Only thing in the negative side is that the place is a bit costly for the portion food they are serving.
It is very nice place to hang out with friends and loved ones. It is place where every youth comes and have cup of coffee or tea with some snacks. And very good environment. Which so clean. It also provide library for those love reading books
The best word to describe this place is, different. The art there, stimulates our thinking process, puts us in deep thoughts and creates vivid memories. Not only can you appreciate art, you can also shop souvenirs , eat food or spend time reading. There are no costs to enter and appreciate the art and their wide variety of books, but price of the food and items might be a bit too high. Overall , I think its a great place to chill, if you want to have a different experience.
Just a place .
The coffee and the food was brilliant, the ambience is bery beautiful and quite and quaint. They have a gift shop with a lot odfmmf artistic stuff, and they do organise art exhibition very often.
Quaint cafe with cosy and peaceful ambience. The food was excellent and tempting, couldnt stop myself from trying a couple more desserts. They organize art exhibition and sometime. Its a bit heavy on the pocket, but worth the visit.PS The book nerds will love this place, they have a library of assorted books in various languages
Nice place for a leisurely coffee
Great cafe. The ambiance is superb. Came here during the Biennale. The art works portrayed here were really interesting. The artificial rainbow concept was really fun. Enjoyed the visit. Looking forward to more fun times coming years when I visit Kochi.
One of the beautiful Cafes in fort kochi with a nice ambience having the backwaters alongside and has been a shooting location for Malayalam films like premam
Great art visual library
One of the finest cafes in fort kochi n mattancherry area, love tha ambiance and food, their pasta are amazing and eveb their tartines are just wow,
Fine view, good fud, best place for hangouts
I ordered the Masala chai....it was great! There is a very nice place for a break.
Was once used in premam movie!
Worst cafe that i have ever visited they think themself as the best one . When i went to the cafe with my friends there was some foreigners having food , while chating and having food we just laughed and one of the staff members came there and shouted at us they said we were uncultured and act like we came for a free service alongingly all the staff was acting as a gang leaders . I WILL SAY NEVER NEVER NEVER EVER VISIT THIS PLACE THERE IS BEST CAFE THAN THIS , SOME DISTANT PEOPLE COME BEACUSE IT WAS A LOCATION FOR THE MOVIE PREMAM REALLY BAD EXPERIENCE OUR ENTIRE DAY WAS LOST BY THIS ISSUE
Great place to hang out endlessly. Coffee is great and so was fried egg with avacado, pesto and tomatoes! The place could do with more comfortable seating as its a very relay ambiance and sitting for couple of hours on a wooden bench could end up being painful
The shop has some amazing high quality local designs - gifts you would love to take home, and some clothes for yourself. Cafe in the back is laid back - lemonade took some time, but it was tasty and cheap.
Pepper house is like home with expensive food. Though, good worth it kind of food! They have their own library with a small shoppers corner. Could be considered as an escape from the busy roads and loud souns. A quiet cozy area.
A really good cafe. ...And good food too. Loved the ambience of this place. The wooden tables, a lawn and the old building which tell alot about the history of kochi.!
Just the ambience is good. The food is not worth for the money. If you want to spend some time in a pretty old Kerala kind of building, you can go there.
Traveler targeted establishment offering coffee drinks and sandwiches. The space is great and there is a nice design-y store to browse. Food was OK, service was OK. Highlight was the brownie sundae.
Very good Ambience. Cafe items are also good. Its more of a chill out place where you can go sit and read a book shipping your coffee/tea or whatever.
The ambience, the history of Cochin and how they quite effortlessly blended the quiet boho chic style into traditional Kerala interiors is quite amazing. The food of course is delicious. The place is truly alive.
