Had a dinner at the hotel on hotel with my wife and child. Nothing exceptional about the service - In fact we were made to wait, stranded in the middle of the pier dining area for a while, with nobody to guide us on where to sit / wait, while the tables were getting ready for the evening. We were also asked not to take photos because I was using a small point & shoot camera (which is actually smaller than an actual phone) - it seems that only phones are allowed for photography (although I really fail to understand the difference since my old handheld camera is not as good as modern day phones). After requesting the manager, he gave us permission to take photos in the hotel lobby - great, thank you very much. I was also told that it would disturb guests who had come for a special dinner event that night, which I was also in fact, part of.The ambiance at the pier dining was incredible though, the live music was pleasant. The plating and presentation of the food was extraordinary - however the general flavour of food was just average. I really didnt see it justify the price we were charged.Overall, its a good hotel with aesthetically decorated interiors and breathtakingingly beautiful waterfront dining areas, average service and overpriced food.

Nothing but hype which comes with a pocket denting price for nothing in my view ..had been there for lunch along with wife and kid and we were late .They have suggested their sea food speciality platter .have specially asked whether the quantity is good for us and he was assuring . It took one hour to get the food and when it came it wasnt good enough for my kid for a price of 4K .it was past 4 then and was requesting anything else like pasta etc but chef needs another half an hour ...I would be have been ok if it was crowded ..hardly there were few ....would not recommend as its not worthy for money and drive from city all the way ...sorry

The rooms were excellent and the beds weee super comfortable. The view from balcony towards the lake view was mesmerising with ships and boats passing by. Bathroom had a tub and all other necessary facilities. A complimentary boat service was arranged by the hotel itself, we were accompanied by a hotel staff, who explained to us about the views. For a stunning view of the Cochin harbour, endless ships, ferry boats and the sheer experience of romancing with books under the sun against the cool breeze of the arabian sea, a stay at Brunton boatyards sea view rooms is a must. The rooms are tasteful and no expense has been spared in the decor and the upkeep of the property. The last boat built at the Brunton boatyard is still functional and used for trips around the area. The food menu despite being carefully crafted is limited to few vegetarian options and the restaurants do not have a license to serve alcohol, although the neighborhood well makes up for this. Overall, a relaxing, cozy, simple yet rich experience.

Great food. Have to make a reservation beforehand and then confirm the menu if you have a large group. However the wait time after arriving til the food reachs the table even after everything is a bit much. We made a reservation for 12.30pm and the first dish only came out by 1.15pm... and it was a 4 course meal.. so with a 45 minute interval between each meal we were there for about 3 hours... I get that it was new years day and that the carnival was going on in the area but the restaurant was empty except for our group so definitely wasnt pleased with this. Like I said food is great. Definitely try the Syrian Christian thali as well as the non veg seafood set menu.

Located in the close proximity of Fort Cochin Beach, the old Victorian Shipyard has been restored in traditional Kerala decor. An abundance of elegant antique furniture and wood has been used throughout the property. This is one of the top rated properties in Cochin and on a personal note I would highly recommend the hotel. The ferry terminal and Santa Cruz Basilica are located at walking distanceAll rooms offer spectacular sea views. The spacious rooms inculcate the same traditional charm. All rooms have wooden four poster beds,There is an outdoor pool and ayurvedic massage centre. There are two restaurants, History Restaurant serves local (cochin style) cuisine. Grilled Seafood is the speciality at The Terrace. Cocktails are available at the Armoury Bar (keep an eye out for the guns and pistols on displayed as decorative pieces). Snacks and Tea options are available at the outdoor quadrangle cafe. During Monsoon and night time, the outdoor cafe is not recommended. The upscale restaurants are quite popular with for lunch and dinner. Reservations are recommended for dinner. The staff are extremely warm and helpful. Free outdoor parking is available. Free WiFi is also on offer.

Brunton Boatyard is a fantastic hotel. Lovely rooms, and beautiful building, with some small details that make it stand out. Theres a free nightly sunset boat tour, as well as cooking demonstrations and afternoon tea. The staff are very sweet, but perhaps lack some of the initiative that you may find in other 5 star hotels. The location is absolutely wonderful. Its right at Fort Kochi, on the banks, with a great view of the sea and its thoroughfare. Its also close to great cafés, the sea shore, eateries and stores. The hotel proactively upgraded us to a huge room with a lovely view of the river, pool and horizon. We also had a cute balcony with cane chairs to sip a cuppa tea or coffee in while watching the huge cargo ships and small fishing boats float past. Our large bathroom had a large bath right next to windows overlooking the river. The white and blue tiles, the use of carved wood and the design of the furniture and windows all give it a sense of a posh place pulled out of history. The staff is very polite and friendly. They dont impose but have friendly conversations when they see an opportunity, and this made us feel comfortable and welcomed. The only other place Ive experienced this is at the Taj. The whole place has a great old-world charm with old artifacts and pictures of historic figures decorating walls and corridors. The breakfast was quite good, extremely filling and had regional and the usual options. The poolside is lovely with its view, and the pool apparently has filtered water. Its right by the river and so you can watch the comings and goings and river foliage while floating around in the pool. They have a lot of pretty wrought iron tables and chairs outside along the river and, weather permitting, also serve breakfast there. The store has some interesting things that you can buy for people and for back home.

Where to start. From the entrance through ti a reception where you are seated in an amazing foyer, where you are not herded like goats with people staring at computers rather you are treated like guests - YES! Your guided with your bags to your room on the way everything you need to know is explained where you can stop and ask questions on a personal level. Entering your room is truly an important experience as you have your own foyer the rest is as you wish for not as you expect. The facilities that provide food and beverage are staffed by people who know the surrounding areas, town, hotel, food wines, etc we felt a part of their family. This isnt about pampering because that just happens like the fine print in a contract its just there. The food OMG you think of it they will create it and the menu goes without saying is a finely balanced introduction to local, state and country foods. The only thing I could critique on would be that I never switched the TV on once in our stay. Thank you to the Brunton family we will be back.
