Vasco House is located on Rose Street at Fort Kochi. It is believed to be the house where Vasco Da Gama stayed during his visits to Kochi, right until his death in 1524. The house is more than 500 years old, built in the Portuguese style of architecture. Converted to a home stay, Vasco House now woos visitors with its ambience and heritage.

Absolutely amazing place to stay. Rich in history and character. Highly recommended. The owner George is a very nice and hospitable person.

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful stay here. The owner George was unbelievably helpful and a super host. The room we stayed in was mind blowing, the two double beds were fab and we were able to watch all of the new years build up on the street outside. The house has been used in the film Big B, expect slot of locals taking pictures of the building outside.

George and his wife are lovely hosts and make you feel at home the moment you set foot in this historical house. Vasco da Gama once lived there and with its high ceilings and spacious rooms the old house is a true beauty. Highly recommended.

This place is pretty amazing. The building is more than 500 years old and theres a lot of history attached to this. Vasco Da Gama died in this house. Lots of movies have been shot as well. I visited to see the house which portrayed the home of Bilal in the malayalam movie Big B. The house was locked but was able to click pictures of the exterior classy look.

Great place for a short stay. Historical and traditional. George is a great host. Not very soundproof and hence noises from the street will disturb

A decent place in the heart of kochi but in a very peaceful locality. Here is where the big b movie shooting was done and thats the only reason I guess it is so famous.

A little different from the movie. But was a nice to see it although we cant get inside.

Large rooms, great location, interesting and kind hosts! Book on Airbnb if you can. Two day minimum stay, but no worries there is plenty to do in the area.

Only positive thing about the stay was that the room was large. The owner was not interested in greeting the guests.The linens provided were not fresh. The place altogether was not at all neat.

Staying at the Vasco Home Stay is like turning back the clock to the 16th century. The Vasco house is full of 500 year old history.High ceilings and 16th century architect.George is the owner of the property and he was very gracious and helpful to teach us the layout of Ft. Cochin. The Vasco house is centrally located with just a walking distance to everywhere.I highly recommend staying here if you want to feel this history of Ft. Cochin. I know my wife and I are coming back and staying here again.

Vasco is a gem of a Homestay. Centrally located, beautiful big airy rooms and a tremendous ambience made for a wonderful trip.George himself was a perfect host, willing to help us with any questions and also share great chats & stories of Kochi and beyond. Plus, he was waiting to check us in at 7am when we arrived early into Kochi.Would thoroughly recommend to couples, families, and anyone in fact. 5 star all round George, we’ll be back hopefully! Big b movie houseNice

French press coffee was great, location fantastic, and it was open when I walked by at 900. There was a bigger menu but my only concern was coffee. For this, I give four stars.

Very nice stay. George and his family were really nice to us and I will always remember the breakfast : best dosa and coco chutney I ever eat! The location is also really convenient et the house is just amazing! !

The house where Vasco Da Gama house is believed to have stayed for sometime is now a private property that has been converted into a beautiful homestag. The quaint house situated on Rose Street is one of the oldest Portuguese structure in Kochi . The house features European glass paned windows and verandas . A beautiful place to stay for the visitors interested in history. The owner Mr. George is a very amiable and helpful person which also makes the stay doubly pleasant.

This is a very nice homestay in Fort Cochin, a very tamed indian city, the house was fomerly owned by Vasco de Gama himself and boast a few very large rooms at standard Fort Cochin prices. THe family who runs is very very nice and helpful.
