One of the oldest restaurants of bharath hotels, they are famous for their veg dishes. bharath hotel here have two restaurants, kempu and subhiksha. I had a ghee roast and masala roast, both were good and a nut burfi after that was a good idea.. they have a vast parking space and securities were all very helping. A small ouler of sweets including barfi are showcased outside.

A mammoth of a hotel riding on old world charm...This used to be my favourite restaurant during my formative days in the early 90s.. fast-forward to today... There is a lot of scope for improvement. Service is at its basic and quality has fallen below par over the years... Good for nostalgic memories for fellows born in the early 80s!!

Very good ambience. We had breakfast which was good. Service was very nice. The security person was very helpful while parking the car. Totally it was a good experience during this covid situation.

Gem of a place to have very nice and tasty vegetarian food. The veg thali was specially good. The tomato utthapam was very tasty and the chutneys fresh and full of flavour. The coffee was super nice. The next time I am there in Kochi I will make sure that I stay in their hotel only so that I can have the simple but very tasty food here. The staff were very courteous and helpful.

It was a torture. Its already hard to find good pure veg restaurant in kerala and this restaurant bth subhiksha is forcing vegetarians to go non-veg restaurants for enjoying dinner with your family.About the food where should I start, does its chef know what is a sambar 120 masala dosa(should be a north indian chef), had no flavor only red chilli powder in it. There was no difference between paneer lababdar, shahi paneer, jalfrezi and malai ( Lababdar is supposed to be masala gravy with cream paste in it) 220. The paneer served in curry burned. veg jaipuri was a joke, felt like they added the raita vegs to some cream masala gravy 220. the rice quality of 220 pulav was horrible fat thick oily rice.Me and dad always come for lunch here which is nice. This is first time we all came for dinner here. I dont understand after having such a nice fine dining restaurant at a great location with nicely designed menu with expensive rates( no problem Ill pay for good experience) food is ridiculous disappointing. I felt like screaming at the restaurant since its a Christmas eve I controled. They should immediately fire its executive chef and appoint a chef, who has some sense of good cooking. Ill pay 350 for each items please serve good food. It seems like Bhindavan restaurant is the only option to go for dinner with family in kochi.

What more to say. Been in this place since I was 4-6 years old. And still if one likes to come here is truly speaking about the quality of food.

For lunch they offer buffet meals and super leaf meals. A meal price is around between Rs250 and 300. Its a vegetarian restaurant. Reservation available. They are serving fresh food including lime pickle. Before serving rice, they give chappathi so soft and tasty surely everyone will love it. Good parking facilities. And also good washroom space.

Pathetic Food I ever had in my life. Ordered Masala Dosa & Ghee Roast which I felt they are kept on fridge before serving. Side dishes ordered were kept on refrigerator which was felt . I think they had outsourced their cafeteria which is totally unpleasant. Low quality food served for hefty price.. Not at all worthfull other new veg restaurants at cochin are far far better.

This used to be our go-to restaurant for veg South Indian breakfast in Ernakulam. However, I am very disappointed to note the steep fall in food quality now. Vada was stale (reheated in microwave, soaked in oil). Masala dosa was just about satisfactory. Coffee, which should be the simplest, turned out to be the worst. I don’t know their problem. Maybe they are understaffed. We had to wait long for food & even coffee to arrive.Henceforth, shall stick to Aryaas in Panampilly or Brindavan on NH bypass.

Premium rates for an ordinary service / food experience. Ambience is just OK for what they charge. I feel the quality has degraded with time; it used to be premium in terms of taste and quality about 7-8 years ago. I strongly recommend to renovate the restaurant and improve the food quality and service experience if they wanted to continue on a long run. Just a 3* from my side.

Great place to stop over for a hearty and delicious lunch after a morning of hectic shopping. The food is absolutely lip-smackingl and speedily served by some enthusiastic staff. Good veg hotel. Meals is the best one I like from there. Dosas also good. But little expensive while comparing with other nearby hotels. Rooms also available here. It is at the heart of the city. Very near to park, MG road, railway station, bus stand etc. I suggest at least one time experience the taste and ambience of the restaurant.

This hotel has completed more than 50 years of service in hospitality industry. I visited the place to have something light in between a shopping spree. I had masala dosa served with sambar and two types of chutney, it was delicious. They serve Kerala meals on banana leaves during lunch time too and they also have buffet for lunch and dinner. A good place for families to have sumptuous food.

BTH is synonymous for Vegetarian food for decades in Ernakulam. Just a few metres away from the back waters and very near to Ernkulathappan temple, it is a favourite place for vegetarians. There is sufficient parking space and the members of staff are very courteous. I enjoyed the meals in plantain leaf. Thanks.

Good amenities, quality of the vegetarian food was Good ( most of the food were less spice ) but it was expensive, mainly they serve Buffet but also a la carte available.

I have been often visiting the BTH Subhiksha for the last few decades and have been enjoying the delicacies and traditional food items being served here.This is a pure vegetarian hotel which is very conspicuously and conveniently situated adjacent to the main road near Ernakulathappan ground.The most important thing is that I have never suffered any stomach trouble after having food from here.Very neat and hygienic place.

Revisited the restaurant as it was an old favorite. Reached by 9am. Got one of the last parking slots. Had Poori masala. Food was just OK. Poori was having excess oil. Service was slow. We had to wait more than 15 minutes to get our poori. Saving grace was the good coffee and tea they served. To get tea also we had to wait 5 minutes after we finished pooris. Tea and coffee both costs Rs 50 each. So if you are in a hurry dont go. Serving staff is all non malayalees.

I have ordered Poori Masala and they confirmed Poori Masala had finished. only Masala and Dosha items are available.But later on(after 20min) i saw that they were serving Hot Poori Masala to the person just visited the hotel.I had complained to the waiter and asked for the manager but he didnt turn up, they were smiling only....I was embarrassed and totally dissatisfied with the service of Hotel Subhiksha.

The food has lost all quality. Ordered for a masala dosa and the waiter came with plain dosa and asked me will this do. How stupid!! When I said No, he went back and got me what I ordered for. Then came the sad part, the taste of sambar was the trademark of BTH, its gone down the drain. For the first time in maybe 35 years of going to BTH I left behind sambar. To top it all, the quantity of Masala in the dosa was actually 2 table spoons. BTH you have lost a good customer. Today was so very disappointing. God save the business.

I had cashew and mutter pulav, butter nan mashroom masala and paneer 65. Pulav was really good, paneer 65 was little sweet. Mashroom masala tatsed home made. Butter nan was soft. Overall i like the food, ambience and service. They have enough car parking space. Price is on higher side.
