When the shoe rack kept in front of my flat damaged, I ordered for a customized shoe rack from Ind Royal Furniture, Kalamasseri on 10-03-2020. On the assurance that the item will be delivered to me within a maximum period of 10 days, I paid the full amount (Rs.9,000/-) 10-03-2020 itself.Since, the scene of foot wears piled up in front of the front door was causing annoyance to me, my family and also to the other flat owners in the same floor, I requested the Ind Royal people to arrange for the delivery as assured, without any further delay.Since there were no updates forthcoming, I called them on 17-03-2020. The person in charge, Mr. Jobin George assured me to deliver the item within the time limit. Since a lock-down was anticipated shortly due to the Covid-Pandemic, I called him in the evening of 19-03-2020 also to ensure the delivery on the next day i.e.20-03-2020. Mr. Jobin George told that there was some short delay in reaching the truck and offered to deliver the article on 21-03-2020. However, it did not happen. 22nd was a Sunday and on 23rd onwards, lock down was declared.From 03-05-2020 onwards, the shops were permitted to function. I called Mr. Jobin George on 05-05-2020 to enquire about my order. He offered to arrange the delivery on or before 11-05-2020. Neither the article was delivered as offered nor did he care to inform me its reason over phone. On 12-05-2020, when I called him, he asked me to wait for a week more. However, even after the expiry of the said period, he did not call me or inform the approximate date of delivery. I called him again on 20-05-2020. He seems to have annoyed due to my regular calls. He told me that he is much worried about non-delivery to some other customers who placed much bigger orders. It is almost one month after they started functioning post-lock down. I am still waiting.I wonder, what is the sin committed by me. I did not make any single call to him during the entire lock-down period, till the shop resume its functioning. He never called me to inform the delay.I learned a lesson, not to go again there with any SMALL ORDER !
