The quad of many halls is the epicenter of activity. The Hall 9 quad is bang in the middle of the mess, the canteen and hall office building, and 4 living blocks. However, due to the positioning of the Canteen in hall 9, you shall not find people coming over with their food and enjoying in the quad. For that reason , halls 2, 3, and 4 have a much richer environment.From 2012 onwards, first year UG students have not been staying in Hall 9. Before that time, the quad was dressed up every year for the Hall day and during the Galaxy cultural competition. A few murals of Mick Jagger and other musicians painted by Fine Arts enthusiasts for the Hall Day in January 2012 still remain on the walls outside the canteen, and hopefully still be there when you go visit the place, or better still, would have been painted over with another mural.
