One of the biggest fairs of west bengal...It is popular as boul fair,organised on the occasion of Makar Shankranti or poush shankranti every year in illambazar of birbhum District...It is located in the banks of Ajay river...it starts on the last day of bengali month poush and continues upto 2nd magh...several thousand of bauls,a community of wandering minstrel who sings devotional songs,assembled for the fair and as such it is also referred to as Baul fair...jaydeb kenduli had long been considered as the possible birth place of the famous poet Jayadeva,who had composed gita govinda in sanskrit.
