A joint initiative between Mehrangarh Museum Trust and theJodhpur Blue City Heritage Hotels, the MGSIICS is dedicated tothe 38th Maharaja for his pioneering work in heritage conservation and cultural tourism. The center aims to facilitate a better understanding of The walled city of Jodhpur, its historic structures, and urban evolution in addition to celebrating the people and the vibrant local cultures that have shaped its urban environment. It must be noted that the city facesignificant challenges and stress on multiple levels in terms of traffic, build up, and infrastructural strain. By advancing the knowledge of the complexity of the old city up to the present, the project’s objective is to document the historic landscape and make a meaningful impact in creating awareness around maintaining the urban fabric.
