Jai pol means victory gate. First gate / main entrance of Mehrangarh fort. Well built pol (gate). A very good view of city, road, fort, umaid bhawan palace from outside of pole. Vide parking area, Its connected by road. if anyone planning to visit fort by vehicle. Near entry here is a chatri (temple). Ticket window / guide are available near to this gate.

You see this point with move to fort main area.This is the impressive main entrance gate to the fortress which was added to commemorate a famous victory against neighbouring kingdoms in 1806.The murals were added more recently but are in a sympathetic style.

Jai Pol (Victory gate) is the main entrance of the Mehrangarh fort.It was built by Maharaja Man Singh in 1806 to celebrate his victory in wars with Jaipur & Bikaner.

A bit disapointing the discrimination in india. here is in a very high level. ticket for indians 60 rupee, for foreginers 600 rupee. its 10 times more. i never saw that big differences before. becouse there is also rich indians and poor backpackers from europe. Its a bad system, and i dont like at all. i could give one star becouse of this, but get three becouse the fort is amaizing. my recommend for every turist, to dont pay. than thay will change there mind.also some more information who can effort or dont want to pay the toll, you can wall inside the fort for free, dont belive for the doorsmens, thay are lieing. the ticket just for enter the museum, inside the castle visiting. outside is free in the streets.
