Located at nayi sadak, this is a historical operational clock tower, around which there are many many shops located. I got really nice fabric here. Shahi samosa is right outside ghantaghar where one can have delicious samosas and mirichi vada. There is also a very very famous lassi shop right at the entrance of ghantaghar. Gulabsagar lake offers you magnificent view..

Ghantaghar is at centre of Jodhpur sadar market. Scenery around are quite good, one can spend good time here looking at city craft and other things related to this fort city, shops are all around and market is quite spacious, enough parking space; sarovar and stepwll are at walking distance from here both will take 10-15 min hardly.
The tower was built by Maharaja Sardar Singh (1880-1911) from whom the market takes it name. VICTORIA CLOCK TOWER Ajmer is a city that has seen major influence from the British in its past. The British left their legacy in many forms in Ajmer, some of which are in the form of educational institutions and architectural buildings in the city. While a couple of these buildings are located in the heart of Ajmer, one that immediately catches the eye of the visitor is the Victoria Jubilee Clock Tower. Located just opposite the railway station in Ajmer, the monument is an imposing clock tower that was built back in 1887. It is particularly well-known for its architectural beauty, and is quite an impressive example of British architecture, reminding onlookers of a smaller version of the famous Big Ben.
Ok ok to see nothng new or intersting
Its just an old market place used as a landmark. It has some history but no one to maintain it. Place is dirty and crowded(sardar market). Before you even approach and look at the monument, hoard of people will jump on you convincing you to take a look at the original shop for local baandhnies and dresses. You cant have a peaceful time here.
Historical old market since before independence at the time of Marwar Dyansty .
Reminds you of historical period. Old Bazar, sweet shops, makhni lassi. Narrow lanes with big havelies. It takes you to early 19th century.
Nice place Sardar market, Visitors should shop from here rather than those thugs sitting by station road. Reasonable prices and generosity.
Nice place and market below the tower was very fruitful for shopping and eating purpose
Local market with delicious street and rajasthani handloom works. Horse cart(Tanga) rides are available. Good place for evening streat shopping.
Definitely a must visit place when in Jodhpur. The market around is lively. The wide old roads surround the clock tower. Best time to visit is evening when the atmosphere is ambient. One should try lassi at Mishrilal if looking for a quick bite.

Great place in Jodhpur for shopping. Though I must suggest u all to bargain to the fullest and do some research before coming to this place to save ur time n money. But u ll find lot of local stuff in quite a reasonable price.
A open space from where you can have a great view of the mesmerizing fort with the accent of local street food, shops, and much more.
You can include this place in your list while in Jodhpur. Market around the Ghanta Ghar has a wide range of clothing, art and craft and grocery stores. They are good to visit if you desire to buy, or else you can take a walk on the streets and treat yourself with some decent clicks on the streets. However do visit the art and craft shops if you are a art person (personal recommendation). You can also include Toorji ka Jhalra in your visit list while you are at Ghanta Ghar.
