This is a beautiful Synagogue in Jerusalem, Israel. They have beautiful glass windows that tell the stories of Israels history. They have a reform temple in which the females sit upstairs and the males sit downstairs.

As an agnostic tourist I enjoyed visited this synagogue for the fascinating stained glass windows and ‘soviet’ style decor (not sure if that’s the exact style but at least it’s what I think of when I see big structures and brutalist designs).Free to pop in and generally open to public. I assume it’s busy during ceremonies etc.

Wonderful for those looking for a choir type service. Irrelevant for those looking to sing along. Seats are old fashioned and not too comfortable. Nevertheless - a must see location. An incredibly unique and beautiful Shul.

As a foreign visitor youre able to visit this synagogue with minor restrictions. You can attend a prayer and hear their songs. A bit odd to be sitting as an outsider amongst these people. To be honest this actually frightened me a little bit. Youll sometimes be given a surprised look but as long as you respect the Orthodox believers, youll be treated with respect in return.

The Great Synagogue is exactly that. A huge Orthodox synagogue in the heart of Jerusalem. The womens section is upstairs. This is something I prefer. The problem for me is that this synagogue is too large and impersonal. I much prefer a small intimate setting for praying.

I went to the new Great Synagogue in 2006, 4 years after if was opened, as a visitor, mid-week. It looked really grand, with a doorkeeper and leaflets being handed out explaining all that had been done in building this amazing place of worship to the living God!I returned last week - 25 years later - as a visitor on a Monday, hoping it would still be an amazing place of worship. How sad it looked!! Really showing its age with paint peeling off outside, just above the entrance - surely for G_ds house, this could be sorted properly for not a lot of cost!. There was no doorkeeper to welcome people, no leaflets, poorly lit, and visitors could only go up to the womens section to view the interior - by which I assume they meant men and women visitors. Directions to the womens section were very mis-leading.Please - restore the Synagogue to be pleasing to G_d and to others who come to seek him in this Holy Place.

The Great Synagogue is a synagogue on King George Street in Jerusalem, next to the Heichal Shlomo building and next to the Yeshurun Synagogue. Since its inauguration, in 1982, the Great Synagogue has served as a spiritual and religious center that attracts tourists and visitors mainly on Saturdays and holidays, so the synagogue holds regular and solemn prayers. An impressive collection of mezuzahs is displayed in the entrance hall of the synagogue. As early as 1923, the Chief Rabbis of Israel, Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak HaCohen Kook and Rabbi Yaakov Meir, published a call for the establishment of a large and central synagogue in Jerusalem, which was developing. In 1958, the Shlomo Hall was inaugurated, which also included a synagogue, which some saw as a response to the call for the establishment of a central synagogue in Jerusalem. Over the years, however, the small-scale synagogue did not meet the needs of worshipers and visitors, which increased as the synagogue became famous. After a few years it was decided to move the prayers to the large entrance hall of Heichal Shlomo, but the crowd multiplied rapidly, and many believed that a central synagogue should finally be built that would be an integral part of Jerusalems religious life, and that there would be a large synagogue. Large number of visitors and worshipers. For this purpose, the plot adjacent to the Shlomo Hall was designated. The donor for the construction of the building was Sir Isaac Wolfson, who also donated the money for the construction of the Shlomo Hall. The architects of the building were Meir Rubin and Alexander Friedman, who also designed the Yeshurun Synagogue. The architects now had the opportunity to implement many construction plans that were originally designed for Yeshurun. The contractor was Matityahu Lifshitz. The living spirit behind the synagogue building was Dr. Moshe Avraham Yaffe, who founded Heichal Shlomo and served for many years as chairman of the executive committee of Heichal Shlomo.Apart from the main contribution of the Wolfson couple from England, whose name is fixed in the outer plaza of the synagogue, there were many other donors who assisted in the erection of the structure and their names are engraved on a wall near the steps leading to the prayer hall. The Wolfson couple dedicated the building in memory of the six million Jews who were murdered in the Holocaust and to the victims of the Israel Defense Forces.A cornerstone for the synagogue was laid in June 1969 [1].The inauguration of the Great Synagogue was held on Tu BAv 5752, 1982. About $ 18 million was invested in the construction of the synagogue. On the night of Yom Kippur 2004, a price tag crime was committed that included spray-painting graffiti on the buildings courtyard with the slogan For the sin you committed before the Palestinians in the occupation and murder (based on the confession in the holiday prayers For the sin we committed before you ...). Only on Yom Kippur 2020 did a user registered with the nickname Rabbi on Edge on Twitter ascertain the execution of the act, justifying the date of the confession for the statute of limitations and therefore the fact that he left Israel [2].Among the many worshipers who visit the synagogue, well-known public figures in the State of Israel stand out, chief among them the chief rabbis: Rabbi David Lau, Rabbi Israel Meir Lau (former chief rabbi, now rabbi of Tel Aviv) and Rabbi Yitzchak Yosef (son of Rabbi Ovadia Yosef, who also used to To pray there as above), Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Shimon Peres, Menachem Begin, Yitzhak Herzog and more. This adds to the nationalism and stateliness that prevail in the synagogue.

Tanya for the 18th day of AvAnd in this it will be understood from the Arizal that there are two kinds of souls in Israel, souls who are engaged in the Torah all their lives and souls who have matzahs who are engaged in charity and Gamach. Apparently, the TAH should also deal with the GMH as a sergeant major who does not even have a Torah except that the TAHO whose main Torah and most of their days in it and the minority of their days in the GMAH is the act of their intercession Deltata to arouse supreme grace to continue to download OAS Gd according to them is only to the world of souls in creation by the Talmudic business and to the angels in creation by studying the Mishnah ostrich since the animals of the souls and the angels are influenced by the combinations of the letters of the speech is Torah and the origin of the letters is from above as well. The Supreme God will fit into this world of depression, which is a greater reduction in intensity than it is not enough in the intercession of those who are engaged in a minority of their days in charity and Gamach, but by Ataruta Debeli Matzah who spend most of their days in charity and Gamach ( A. Palad) and therefore were called the supporters of Oriyta and the exams and steps of Noah to continue the light of the Torah down to the world of doing. And in this it will be understood why it is called charity in the name of Maaseh Kashm and there was an act of charity Shalom. The language of Zohak Man Devid Shama Kaddisha Devid Deika because in Ataruta Deltata in charity and kindness will arouse supreme grace to continue the light of the Almighty in terms of supreme wisdom Judgment of the name of God It is enough to influence the world of action and to distinguish differences there is no end as a person speaks only to others (and not when he is among himself) and then reduces his mind and thought in his speech to them and the educated will understand:
