Stunning property. If youre looking to stay at an actual palace, this is the place. Beautiful hand-painted interiors to give you the maharaja feels in the common spaces. Infinity pool, jacuzzi and spa are a must try too. Food was great but had limited options, although big thanks to the head chef for giving us extra attention. The area is pretty deserted, so if youre in Samode, theres no where to go to other than the property and village tour.

I am extremely disappointed with them. They took reservation from us for December 23rd evening in April. They immediately took 25% of our money. We sent out our invitations to our guest. They went ahead and made different reservation in the month of August without informing us. And now they are asking us to cancel. It is not clear they will even return our money. If you are planning any event at this venue, please DO NOT. We have worked with four other properties in Jaipur thus far and we have not seen such behavior. Shame on Samode!=====================EDIT:After this review, Samode Palace decided to respect their commitment and plan to provide dinner. We very much appreciate their reversal and professional response. Given this, I am reverting my ratings to 5 stars.Once we visit on Dec 23rd evening, I will update this based on our food experience. I am pretty sure, it is going to be amazing. Stay tuned for the details.

The palace is set in the quite surrounding of samode village , one reaches it through a small drive through the village off the highway .The first visual to greet the visitor upon reaching is the imposing archway of the palace , the stone paved road leading to it is quaint and charming, with a hugh banyan tree and a hanuman temple with steps leading to it !The guards will let you in only if you have a booking to stay otherwise very politely you are guided to their samode bagh resort .Once inside you reach the driveway and parking with many immaculate antique cars parked there .The palace looks regal as you look up !!The steps then lead to the first courtyard of the palace , one of three. The royal facade with the carving and stone work is exquisite. The reception is in the second courtyard and the service polite and courteous beyond words .When you look around you notice the beautiful and manicured green trees, the artifacts and the wrought iron furniture all blending into a beautiful visage .The cleanliness and beauty of the place is striking .Next we were shown to our rooms which were upgraded by the management and once we entered we were thrown into a royal world of decades gone by !! The four poster beds , the antique furniture , the ornamental mirrors and the so very well appointed bothrooms .The opulence and grandeur of the entire place was breathtaking. The dining hall with the ornamental ceiling and antique chandeliers, the terrace swimming pool , the majestic durbar halls with the entire walled area covered in exquisite painting all make you feel like a royal prince !The legendary rajasthani hospitality is the icing on the cake .One can write so much more about the place but in short its simply superb , a must visit abode of existing royal experience for a quite family getaway , highly recommended !!

An exorbitantly expensive menu with no great taste..A normal Indian cuisine which is priced atleast 4 times the normal rates . And that too in COVID times when they are working with quarter of staff and the complete property not still open.Had gone for dinner ..The tour around the palace was conducted by Housekeeping staff who was not even aware of the history of the palace. The Staff is not very friendly and accomodating. Simple request like having tea next to the pool was denied stating we should have informed atleast a day prior. The restaurant is run of the mill kind which was a total letdown. The restaurant was not even cooled properly.Simple things like water on arrival had to be asked.Overall not a pleasant experience. Better options available in and around Jaipur.Better plan on other options until you are planning to make your wallet lighter with no returns.

This heritage property is beautiful, spaced out into different courtyards. Each room is different from the other. The suites are grand. The view is spectacular. Now you must wonder why after such high praises i’ve given 3 stars to a 5 star property, that is owing to their service. We stayed there for close to a week and had a few issues.Firstly there’s no WIFI so don’t be fooled by their online description.Secondly you have to walk a LOT, so if you have any knee issues please come prepared. Moreover you may pass a damp stench at certain intersections that wasn’t attended to despite repeated requests. The room service takes hours at times. Some rooms have AC and plumbing issues. I understand it’s a heritage property but i’m still paying for a 5star experience so is it wrong to expect that? Some of the staff members may seem somewhat rude at times but that shouldn’t take away from the staff that was helpful. It’s a mixed bag honestly. Also, if you are a tea lover, insist on hazariji’s chai.

Samode Palace in Rajasthan IndiaSamode palace, Samode Haveli and Samode Bagh (Garden) are heritage monuments of Maha Rawal or Maha Saheb of the Amber and Jaipur principality in Rajasthan, India. . The architecture of the building comes from Indo-Saracenic architecture, the place combines the best of Indian and Mughal styles. This building has been around 475 years old, but this building still looks nice, neat and sturdy. Because of the long history of this place, this place is often used as a location for film shooting. If we depart from Agra then before we reach the city of Jaipur we can find the samode palace first, which is located about 40 km from the city of Jaipur. This building is now used as a hotel, and restaurant managed by the royal family with the label Samode. Samode Restaurant is full of foreign tourists with typical Indian Rajashtan royal cuisine, with all you can eat food for 23,000 INR or around USD23.

Our friends rooms were wonderful but we were not as happy with ours, Manoj would not stop till he found us a room we were happy with that met all our criteria.Thank you for your kindnesses Manoj. The hotel is perfectly located being RIGHT IN the village. It a very short walk to all Samode has to offer culturally. Views from many of the rooms are of the mountains or the pool or both, all rooms are unique in design, very clean and traditionally fitted out in Indian style. There are three open central courtyards, two outdoor pools, two jacuzzi es (warm), indoor and/or outdoor dining with expansive views, fantastic vintage car collection and THOSE views. In the restaurant, staff are good not o e person stands out, his name is Sahu, great service printed person, pro active, and very humour pjs. Awaken to the quiet dawn, or have a cocktail on the terrace garden to the accompaniment of folk musicians. Run your fingers across the intricate story of an ancient mural on an uneven wall. Must visit !!!Brillant is the word. The palace, built by the noblemen of the court of the royal family, is located near the Samode village on the outskirts of Shekhawat. It is built of sandstone at the foot of the Aravalli range of hills (the foremost mountain range of north-western India) with a fortress-like setting. The interiors of the palace are composed in the ancient architectural style of Rajasthan: marble floors, intricately ornamented pillars, mosaic walls (with tiny pieces of small inlaid stones), with luxurious carpets, and decorated with old wall paintings (hunting scenes, floral motifs and so forth). At the entrance gate of the palace is a unique piece of a large-sized treasure chest made of dark wood with marble settings and gleaming glass. The Sheesh Mahal (Hall of Mirrors) is located on the southern side of the palace. The frescoes in the Durbar Hall and in the Sultan Mahal are said to be 250 years old. The palace is built on three levels (planned in a sequence of courtyards of increasing height) with a patio on each floor. There is an old ruined fort above the palace from where a panoramic view of the valley could be seen. The fort area is overgrown with vegetation but stone paved paths have been built to reach the fort heights. Samode fort was the former residence of the Maharaja. It is said that an underground passage links it to the palace that provided access at times of emergency. It is now approached by a well laid out stone paved path (300 steps). There is also an entry gate to the ruined fort. Two other forts close by complete the circuit of a circular walk from and back to the palace. There is also a small temple, 3 kilometres away from the fort. The Samode village near the palace is noted for its cloth made by block printing and also for handicrafts such as bangle making. There is a small artists colony in the village where miniature paintings are made.

This is one of the most fraudulent hotels I have ever stayed. There are so ment better more honest properties in Jaipur, avoid this one at all costs! We were not told a film was being shot here. We couldn’t even pull up to the gate because of the commotion. My father who walks with a cane was made to go several hundred yards by foot. When we finally reached the hotel, we were shown to two rooms directly across from the area the crew was shooting. We mentioned the noise and were taken to two other rooms that were far below the standard for which we paid. Plus those rooms were also loud for opening onto a loud courtyard. I asked if we could be refunded our second night since we were not told about the filming. They denied my request. This place is conducting business very fraudulently! Stay away!

To begin with ITS NOT A PALACE. There is nothing Royal or elite about the place from the word go - poor parking arrangement, disorganised reception - the people manning the reception have mannerisms that does not befit palace category. The rooms are just about ok - in peak summer all u get is boiling hot water in the shower all through the day. There is no cold water. We made a booking for birthday celebration1. - we were not told that its dry day in the state and no alcohol will be served.2. Their fine dining restaurant was not operational, reason being its lean season. What about the guest who are staying in the so called palace where were they supposed to eat? The other option was a very sad looking restaurant filled with mosquitos and flies. Even the AC was not operational.3. Their terrace pool was also not operations - reason given some storm apparently which only came in their palace and no where else.4. The most disappointing was the food - like I said nothing Royal about it. For anyone who has stayed in palaces would really understand the treatment , quality of food and lifestyle one experiences. The breakfast was a very sad looking spread of stale bread, under cooked dosa and salamis which one would not like to even touch. When these issues were raised with the general manager - he gave an unassuming response sorry. There has been no response to the emaila which has been written to their management and owners.A lot of reviews are paid / free stay reviews. Hence misleading.I Strongly recommend that you avoid this rotten place at all cost.

Samode Palace, which is built according to the Indo-Saracenic architecture in the 16th century, is considered as a Heritage site along with Samode Haveli and Samode Garden. The traditional Indian or Rajasthani designs are carved into the walls with the help of paint and marbles, these wall carvings are present throughout the palace in various colours and patterns. This palace is also known for hosting grand festivals, exhibitions and New Years party where people from across the world come to view the celebration style and is a known as a great host for the Royal families and celebrities in India. The Samode Palace was founded in the 16th century as a fort and later was converted into a Palace by Rawal Berisal in the 19th century. The fort originally belonged to the Rajputs and was later occupied by the Britishers. Before the transformation, Rawal Berisal (a nobleman) took over the fort when he was appointed as the Chief Minister of Rajasthan and converted the fort into a Palace with Muslim and Rajput architectural design.Samode Haveli, which is considered as a resort was also built by a Royal Family in Rajasthan where the Royal family would stay during vacation. Samode Garden was designed according to the Mughal landscape structure style and was built by one of the Sons of Maharja in Jaipur. This garden is located 4 kilometres away from the Samode palace where people can have a clear view of the Palace and enjoy natures beauty at the same time. The Samode Palace provides the best experience to the traveller where they get to stay in a room or a hotel decorated in each and every corner according to the Rajasthani style.

An hour journey from Jaipur city and Airport, Samode palace is a perfect getaway from the busy city life. Samode palace is a palace turned 4 star property, where one still feel the royalness in the air. The entrance to the palace is having a huge wooden door, probably to open requires a gang of men. As we enter the premises, we can see wintage cars collection of the Royal family. There is a gift shop as we enter the palace main building, sovereign kept for purchases. Lot of rooms and escapes routes, gives the feeling of ancient time enemy attacks and internal treachery. There is a restaurant which offers a good delicious food and beverages. Best is to stay there and explore the palace instead of an evening visit for a wine and dine.
