Very beautiful temple which is part of Rajwada. Here maratha style of architecture is well maintained. Other information is also displayed over here. There is a small museum which is also very informative and worth to watch. This temple is a part of Rajwada where good information about Rani Ahilya Deviji is given. The structure of it is a fine specimen of the Maratha Empire and well maintained. There is also a museum here which is a sight to behold

Malharrao Holkar (born 1897, died 14) established the family rule in Indore. He took over the Maratha forces in the Malwa region in the 1720s, and in 1733, the Peshwa gave the area of Indore to 6 parganas. The city of Indore was already in existence as an independent princely state established by Nandlal Mandloi of Kampel, dated March 3, 1817, approved by the Mughal Empire. It was Nandlal Mandloi who allowed Marathas to travel in this area and allowed them to camp across the Khan River. Malhar Rao established a camp in 1737, which is now known as Malharganj. In 17, he started the construction of his palace, Rajwada. At the time of his death he ruled most of the region of Malwa and was accepted as one of the almost independent five rulers of the Maratha Federation. After him, his daughter-in-law Ahilyabai Holkar (who ruled from 18–145) took command of the rule. He was born in the village of Chaundi in Maharashtra. He shifted the capital to Maheshwar situated on the Narmada River south of Indore. Rani Ahilyabai was the patron of many Hindu temples. He built temples in holy places outside his kingdom. The adopted son of Malhar Rao Holkar, Tukojirao Holkar (ruled: 1885–189), took over the reign for some time after the death of Queen Ahilyabai. However, Tukoji Rao started his campaign in March 14 after the establishment of Indore by Mandloi as the commander of Ahilyabai. Holkar did not settle in Indore before 1714.
