The Institute library has the distinction of being one of the oldest and the largest resourceful technical library in the south-east Asia. The total area of the library is around 3,200 square meters and it is open from 9.00 A.M. to 12.00 A.M. The library not only caters to the basic information needs of faculty members, research scholars and students of this Institute but also provides information services to research workers of neighbouring universities and research institutes.The library has already computerized its housekeeping operations. It has procured integrated library management software LIBSYS-7 including WebOPAC and necessary state of the art hardwares. The preparation of database related to retrospective conversion of books, e-books and other documents has already been completed and charging and discharging of books are done using this software. Besides web based services, the library is providing online search facilities (OPAC) through in-house eight desk top computers dedicated for the users.

A great experience with this place. Apart from the curriculum, a collection of some really old and antique novels and writings of international as well as national profound writers are there. An imperative place to visit for students who wish to join the institution for a getting a perspective of a true library.

I love this place as it is a Central Library and has some really old books. You can find books on almost all engineering subjects here but it is restricted to only Institute faculties and students.
