Being new to the area, were trying out all the restaurants on Beaumont Street. We managed to get to Kings XI only twice before we were all locked down, but were certainly impressed with the food.The dining room isnt spectacular, but the staff and food certainly are. We like our food hot, and Kings XI can certainly accommodate us. But the food isnt so hot that it has no actual flavour. Its wonderfully flavoursome and they dont seem to be using the cheap cuts of meat. The staff were always smiling. Well, I assume they were. They were wearing masks.The great thing about Indian food is that it travels well, so weve continued to enjoy it as takeaway a couple of times while we are in this viral purgatory.I would have given 4.5 stars, taking half off for the dining room, but Google doesnt do that. Five stars for the food. Four stars for the décor. (And Im not talking about our kitchen.)

Clean, cosy and Authentic Indian food. Very good friendly service. Wide selection to choose. Licenced too. We were impressed with this wonderful entree selection. Good to share.

The aroma of perfectly mixed and cooked spices! Been wanting to try Kings XI for years, and now Im hooked. Food amazing, prices good, service good. 7 of us full up with a drink each, $225. We were happy with that!

What an amazing restaurant!!!!! I went there last night and was blown away. The food was spectacular and the service was so nice. The staff were so sweet and lovely BUT.......I cannot get over how AMAZING the food was. I honestly cannot wait to come here again. Its a nice place to have delicious indian food.. went for family dinner today and ordered handi paneer, palak paneer, bullet naans, cheese naans and veg manchurian. The food was absolutely lip smacking. The staff was very polite and humble. Would love to visit again and try out some non vegetarian dishes as well..🙂🙂

Very impressed with this restaurant.We rang and ordered a delivery to our hotel, the staff who answered and delivered were both impeccably polite and friendly and they happily made an off menu item for me on request.I thought the price was very reasonable and the food was as good as any Indian food I’ve had. The garlic cheese naan was the best I’ve had in recent times.Very highly recommended!

So the meal was fantastic, great flavours and well spiced.I also noticed a bit of segregation, other indian people were all seated together in the front main room and a rear room whilst all the white people were seated together in the side room.I dont know what happened to inclusiveness but its clearly not happening there!!!

Nice ambience and located on a busy street. Staff was attentive took order very carefully. And explained all upsell. All three staff on floor was very professional. We got take away Curries and breads. My wife loved the flaovors. 5 stars

I have organised 2 parties at Kings xi and both times , we dealt with very friendly and profession staff , particularly Bella. They went above and beyond to help host the surprise parties and the food was exemplary. We are really pleased with their response to queries as well as accomodating our specific needs. Definitely recommend them.

Easily my favourite dine out curry in town. The food is so so tasty but what I love is how friendly and attentive the staff are too. Its not often that both food and staff are on a par with one another. 10/10 would recommend!

Having immigrated to Australia 3 years ago it’s been a quest to find a good authentic Indian restaurant with flavours that were “Aussiefied”. Extremely delighted to say that this dining experience was fabulous. Loved all the dishes we got. the naan was so soft and delicious. A must go if you’re seeking good authentic Indian food. The kitchen was a bit short staffed but we guess it was just a bad night for them. However was compensated for the tasty food. Oh did I mention ambience is amazing !

Yesterday night i visit this restaurant for dinner.we had plain naan,veg.daal tadka,veg panir,goat curry and also i ask them to make one vegeterian biryani for take away.and they did. But today I was ready to eat my morning lunch but i found that it was chicken biryani.I was vegeterian and this was not good to me.I will never forget this.Thanks

Service is top notch here. This is a slightly more formal dining setting. Food is always of consistent quality. Price is good for quality and quantity of food. You can adjust the heat of most dishes if you dont want much heat.

Super darn good. Idk if because I was hangry but... the fact I waited a while for it on a quiet night means my food was cooked well. I had Lamb Korma and it was amazing. The meat was very well cooked, soft, blends well with the curry. Matching it with garlic naan made my night. I just wrecked myself though as I hurried my last few bites as they were closing. I was a bit hesitant to dine in at first seeing that there was only 1 table occupied. Im from Melbourne and Im kind of impressed with this resto. Novocastrians gotta try this place.

This is honestly the best indian I have ever had in my life. My partner, mother and I had the butter chicken, lamb pepper madras and a vegetable dish. It was literally mouth watering! If you are in Newcastle, this is an absolute must!!! The service is amazing, very caring staff who ensure you have both a great meal and dining experience. 10/10.

The waitress was nice despite the issue of her needing to constantly run and ask chef for details for dietary requirements. In this day and age the information probably should already be available and priced. It embarrassed us to have to ask. One part of the meal came out a good 20 mine before the rest and was cooking down. The food was delicious. The place clean. The wine chosen nicely. Was off putting having the air con turned on and blasting periodic cold air on us without any warning and left on. We needed to move tables. Again made us look really bad and awkward.

The food here was delicious and high quality. We were served by very friendly and attentive staff, and when we asked for something off menu we were able to get it! Everything we ordered was delightful and it came out quickly. We ordered 2 mains with 2 naan breads and 1 rice for 3 of us and it was the perfect amount. We also got a mango lassi, badam milk and chai. All were great, and Id highly recommend the badam milk if youve never tried it before (I hadnt and I thought it was lovely) its quite sweet, but has a nice balance of sweet spices. Also the chai is just like in India! Highly recommend!

Delicious Indian food and some of the best service Ive had at a restaurant. We got there close to closing on a public holiday and the staff could not have been more accommodating.The food was amazing, freshly prepared and the maitre d was outstanding in his knowledge of the food and on the menu.Cannot recommend high enough.

Came at 8 it’s 9:45 still haven’t got any food. They also mixed up non-veg and veg food.

I had my 30th birthday party here last night, and this was the best service I have ever experienced at a restaurant anywhere. The staff are extremely friendly and professional, and the food is amazing!I can’t rate my experience highly enough. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant in future, and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to others.

Been there twice and was plain lucky to find a parking spot just in front. Had a good experience overall. Has come into my regular list of Indian food joints.

Kings XI has become my favourite Indian restaurant. Its well located and the food is really good. The service is friendly and efficient and its always a pleasure to have a meal there.

We had our sons 1st birthday party at Kings XI and it was a fantastic experience. Organising the event was smooth and easy with no hassle. Service, the food and presentation was exceptional. The party was in courtyard and the theme arrangements were actually better than we had imagined.We, the guests and everyone who viewed the pictures loved it. I would highly recommend Kings XI to anyone looking to organise such events.

Really good food, but on the pricey side and VERY small portion. I enjoyed the Goan fish curry which was very mild, and the patiala goat. Sadly 2 curry dishes + rice is enough for only 1 person and this was about $50.

We had a meal at Kings Punjab XI two nights ago! Simply fantastic! The service was quick! We ordered dal makhani, paneer chilly and basmati rice. The food tasted really good and the portion size was just right!.

Firstly I apologize for this very late post Kings XI. I am a foodie and Imagine me organizing catering for my wedding, I wanted the BEST. So I tried and tested multiple Indian restaurants and by chance ended up at Kings XI even though it wasnt on my list. As I entered and asked the people there, was when this amazing exceptional woman walked towards us BELLA she looked after us so well, really well organised and put together a list of things we needed. She was going to India and I remember her mentioning let me know if you need anything who would say that to a random customer. We were invited for tasting for 4 persons and I called her to say I have my family from India who would like to join the tasting, without any hesitation she was very welcoming and said Yes. The food was absolutely delicious that day and she was there the whole time with us and spoke to my family and made us feel like home. On the BIG day no questions asked the whole team at Kings XI looked after every single guest of ours and made sure everyone were fed. Bella and Durga were amazing with their customer service talking to guests helping out even though they didnt have too. And to my surprise at the reception the whole cake table was decorated with candy jars, dessert, flowers etc, mind you this was not included as part of the catering service. I felt loved and my family and friends wouldnt stop raving about the TASTY FOOD. I WOULD 100000% recommend this place for just a regular lunch or dinner or catering at a big scale KINGS XI has got you covered. Actually pretty bad..Whenever someone asks biriyani would be hot or mild, it means there is some problem because its a dish meant to have a distinct test and that is not ever hot or mild. Also it was garnished with raw capsicum ( seeds of capsicum too) Along with green chilly and tomato. In whole India that cannot be found. It cannot be authentic Indian.

So many great vegetarian and vegan options with good portion sizes - try the soya chaap masala! Amazing garlic naan bread too. The staff are lovely and very helpful, they went out of their way to make us an old favourite dish for a special occasion. A great restaurant for date night or dinner with friends and family. Take away options too. My partner and I are regular customers, we cannot speak highly enough of Kings XI!

This place used to be my favorite but not anymore after yesterday dinner.Food was too sweet ,Tawwa goat (goat curry ) has only 4 small piece of meat. Its full of cauliflower, onions and oil. We expect more meat in it when paid more than $20 for 1 bowl of curry.

Food was cold, very small portions, very expensive and way over priced. Would never go back, absolute disgrace!!

I eat out way too often, and this is my favourite place to go.The food is always delicious.The service is the best on Beaumont St, the maître d is super nice and attentive.It has good opening hours.. you can eat at an adult time.. which is completely lacking in Newcastle as a whole.And its BYO..Its been open for 3 months and Ive been 20 times... I think that speaks for itself!
