This ashram was founded by Nallapati Hanumantha Rao garu in 1913 in padapalem and later in 1926 he moved it to this land (pattabhipuram Rd,guntur)which he owned ,he worked for the amelioration of the conditions of the Dalits(the term literally meant children of god) .He is the first person to start a harijan skill development center in south India where the children of the Dalits were given free education and got for them government waste lands for their economic betterments. He played a vital role in the freedom struggle and gained recognition by the Gandhi Ashram,he spent most of his life doing humanitarian work and working for dalit community. He was arrested several times for his work as well

This Sri Krishna ashram was located beside kankaragunta flyover in Guntur.Previously here ashram activities were carried out. Western side of ashram area(part of the area ) was allotted for rytubazar.
