Good quality food, reasonable prices and good customer service. Can be a little bit of a wait depending on the time you go there. Lunch time usually pretty busy.

Food is horrible. Got stew chicken , it taste like bbq chicken . Their” cabbage “ is mixed vegetables from the can . They never have food or plaintains. It’s garbage and not worth the price . Definitely not Jamaican , Guyanese , or Trinidad cooking the food . Probably African . Best off going to the reggae cafe before here .

One of the worst Jamaican restaurants I have ever been to, I’m not going to go into detail but the wait was an hour, and while I’m sitting there for a whole hour, I go back up to the counter and they let me know that the order wasn’t put in., Instead of apologizing he says baby girl do you see this line I have. So here I am waiting an hour plus for food that I never received.

I have been going here since I was in school there when they opened. The old man has given daily management over to his son I believe. Its still a quality product after all these years and fills my soul anytime I stop by. If Im alone I overdo it by ordering two plates. Last ti.e was the oxtail and here chicken. Both were excellent. I like a wet jersey for my rice and here I never have to beg for more, theyre generous with their portions as well as that gravy on my rice. They could gi e me a few more plantains but whos ever satisfied with their number of plantains.

Review №50

This place was ok. Im from New York so this place cant really compare to many of the Jamaican restaurants Ive been to, but here we go! First off, the lady at the front counter wasnt Jamaican, I saw that as kind of a red flag but hey! You never know. I ordered oxtails w/ rice and peas and vegetables it came with 2 pieces of plantain as well. The oxtails were ok (just ok)and the rice and peas were rice and beans and the vegetables had no tastes at all! I couldnt really taste the plantain because when I got to them they were buried under the rice and gravy. A couple of members of my family ordered the curried goat they said that that was great! They enjoyed that except the rice and beans. Dont get me wrong, the rice and beans were ok, but just say that it is rice and beans and not rice and peas! The young lady at the counter was very nice and pleasant though. But I wont go back there. Im still looking for a good Jamaican food restaurant.

The food was ok, not a authentic taste. The rice and peas was bland, so was the cabbage. One of the customers in there recommended the jerk chicken to me. It was just spicy but no flavor. The old man that served me was very rude. But the price of the food was very reasonable. Especially for the value of food you got. Boy I miss back home and my extended family. Ill be making a trip NY/NJ soon.

We called , they said 20 mins. We waited 20 mins . We drove 20 mins. We got there , confirmed the order and waited 25 mins . The last time we went there , it was more of the same issue. Very unprofessional ! I dont care how good the food is , dont lie to me about when my food should be done . Its quite clear , they wait for you to get there and then cook the food , even though you call in. Bad service !

The food at this location is always great and the portion are worth the reasonable cost, however service is terrible, due to the fact that its never ready..!!!. Dont bother to call and place an order, it wont be ready. You must have at least 45 mins to spear if you plan to eat from here. Food is good but no respect for ones time.

I have been eating at paradise since my early 20s. I am now in my mid 40s. I no longer reside in North Carolina. However, my family does. Each time I come home I eat at paradise and the owner always comes from behind the counter and show me love. He remembers who I am. The food is very authentic. I have not tasted any Caribbean food better than Paradise. I crave it all the time but I have to wait til I touch the Carolinas to eat the real deal!!:)

First: This is a take out place, no seating and the service can be a bit slow so call ahead. But the food is what its about. The ox tails are beyond amazing; fatty, saucy and full of flavor. Jerk chicken is nice and spicy, like its supposed to be. Meat is on the bone, like it should be. I would rate it as an adventurous eat, but this is how Jamaican is supposed to be. If you dont like this place, then you dont like Jamaican food.
