On vacation in Ubud and was looking for something simple, but with a local flavor. I came across this restaurant on Google maps and decided to stop in. The service was good and the food was delicious. I didnt feel heavy and the food wasnt greasy. If youre in Central Ubud, stop in and give it a try. Thanks for the experience.
This is local Indonesian restaurant in Ubub. Usually so crowded at night, so you might be patient and wait over about 30 minutes since ordering till have really eat. But try to make that waiting time to talking and getting information from near by your seat. And its cheap without TAX! But still not enough portions.
Best local food in whole of Ubud. Owned by an old lady who falls asleep sitting. Very cozy place, with long tables so that you can sit together with other people, also low tables with cushions so that you can sit and eat. They also have fans in the ceiling. Try Tempeh with fresh tomato sauce, do not try crispy noodles.
My favorite place! Vegan/Vegetarian friendly, local prices $2-$3.50CA for most dishes AND they actually serve you proper larger portions (most other restaurants are small servings even if you pay more) Legit and delicious. Beautiful staff too.
Went to grab quick eats with my mom and got a full meal & alcohol for so cheap! If you want to eat good Balinese food you should go here. Not fast service though
I love this place. Highly recommend the Tofu in fresh tomato sauce, and the potato cake! Local prices, tasty food.
Worst restaurant ever!We waited over an hour for our food and had to eat separately because they didn’t manage to bring the food at the same time. Dirty kitchen, dirty restroom, dirty tables, extremely rude stuff. I ordered vegetables with peanut sauce an got an salad with some sprinkles of sauce on it. And after I are I had the infamous Bali Belly. There are many better restaurants around the corner. We definitely don’t come back.
My boyfriend and I ordered spring rolls as starters and a main dish for each. The service was really slow and we got our dishes at least 10 minutes apart from each other. When we were preparing to pay we noticed we never got the spring rolls. We decided to leave anyway but then they came. Overall the place is nice, the food is good but only go there if youre prepared to wait a long time for your order.
Great atmosphere and local prices, but the service is slow as heck. In the meantime, have a drink and chat to your fellow diners sat around the large communal tables. I waited 30 min for chicken satay, and bizarrely the accompanying rice took a further 10 min to arrive. Tip: dont wait around expecting the bill you asked for to come to your table - you must go directly to the counter near the kitchen to pay.
Great food for a great price. Avocado salad was big portion and all fresh. Staff isnt too friendly... they werent rude just none looked happy. Curry chicken and cashew chicken were both great. Family Style seating at long tables so you may get paired up with strangers if thats not what youre looking for.
We waited almost 1.5 hours for our food and we only got it after reminding them, because they‘d completely forgotten our order. But that wasn’t the worst thing that happened, a few hours later we both got really bad food poisoning and had to spend the next day at a clinic to get iv infusions.Don’t go there!
One of the best traditional food places in Ubud, with the best value for money given the portion sizes. Not amazing for speed of service and maybe avoid the toilet but its all of part of the authentic experience of this hidden gem. Overall would highly recommend.
Food is good but very slow service. Had to wait around 25-30 minutes for a banana pancake. Good if you are not in a hurry and are looking to have a couple of drinks before eating. Is also pretty cheap so you get what you pay for I guess.
Really worthed. Fresh/tasty food and super cheap price. Avocado salad and special fried noodles are amazing🤗
Ate here more than once and for a good reason. The people are extremely friendly and the food is delicious and very affordable (26k, 36K and up), with sizable portions.Ginger cashew chicken and the chicken curry is amazing. The tea is also great.
We ate here just after 10pm, service certainly wasnt with a smile but it was fast enough.Satay chicken skewers tasted good, seemed good value for 8 on paper but the skewers are 2/3 the size of most other places and theres no boiled rice on the side.Cashew ginger chicken was 70% green beans, 20% carrot, 5% garlic and maybe not even 5% chicken and cashews. Couldnt taste any ginger. Salted to death to boot. The spring rolls had potential but they literally had to be drained of oil before we could eat them. There are better places for similar money just a few doors away.
Here you get very good quality at an incredibly low price:We loved that they prepared the juices without any sugar or syrup! And all the dishes were cooked without any ready-made sauce or glutamate.
Very cheap and good, simple Indonesian food with lots of vegetarian options. Some nice floor seating, great for people watching. The orders come out a bit slowly when crowded, but its a nice spot with good food. Meals cost around 2-4 dollars except for their special duck which needs to be ordered a day in advance and costs around 20some dollars (but sounds really fancy).
We had a bad experience, as we were offered a table really quickly but the time we had to wait until being served was absolutely crazy. More than 1hour to eat some steacks with white rice and nise goreng... they were tasty and good but not deserve so much time to wait for.The restaurant was not really big and you need to share tables, it was in the main road in ubud and they open til late.
Nice and cheap food. The tempeh curry was really tasty.
We went around 2pm on a Sunday, so the place was not really crowded. We got our drinks and food very quick and the meal was delicious. Also the iced lemon/orange (without sugar, but you can have it with sugar, too, if you like) was a really refreshing drink!
Good and cheap food, but really bad service. With better service it would be 4 star min.
A roach crawled on me as I was eating. No worries, we’re in the jungle after all. But then I took a closer look around the kitchen area where we were sitting, and it was filthy. There was a duster right behind our heads, there was trash on the kitchen floor, it seemed like it hadn’t been mopped in a while. The food was ok, not great, not bad. The spring rolls were greasy, yet delicious. What left a really bad taste in our mouths was that the first thing we asked before we sat down was if they accept credit cards- and the waiter said “yes.” After our meal they told us it was “cash-only.” That was not expected. So beware, it’s cash only.
Delicious and simple Balinese village food. Plenty of vegetarian options available!
Very tasty, reasonable price and friendly waitress. I dont expect more from a great warung.
Original balinese food. Very authentic experience. Prices are very fair. Most dishes cost about 26k. Highly recommended!
The people here seem very nice, and the mint and lemon juice was good, unfortunately the vegetables in my vegetable curry were completely raw, even though took a long time to arrive, they offered to cook it more but let me just pay for the juice since I didnt want to stay and wait longer. The food other people had looked better.
In this moment waiting for the appetiser. People sat in the Tables next to me are already eating even if they arrived after... it was good... but only because of the price.
Delicious food, big portions, good prices (around 20k-30k per dish), nice staff.
The Dewa Warung is a historical place in Ubud and especially known for the cheap prices and the nice atmosphere around the sharing tables where you will be seated with other guests!!The food is quit simple and nothing really amazing, but is well cooked!I can recommend the Garlic Chicken :)
Congratulations for this place. Autenthical amazing balinese food for price lower than most places in ubud. Eat here, thanks me later
Very Tasty vegan food. Friendly staff, very relaxed environment. Reasonable prices, decent portions. Always make new friends here.
Was excited to eat here as is was packed the night before. When we arrived the next day we ordered food and a large Bintang. 3 Bintangs and two hours later we asked if our food was almost ready as it was not very busy and should not have taken so long. The food was rather tasty, that is until I found a bug in it!!!
Dewa Warung delivers very good food for good prices! There are only large tables so you have to sit with other people which is nice! However the dishes are kind of small so sometimes you need to order more than one.
Fantastic good cheap local food. Authentic flavours and decent service. Nice to escape from the tourist build up elsewhere in the surrounding streets. Will visit again and again.
Giving 1 star out of completion.Too too bad service. Kindly avoid this restaurant. We went for dinner and ordered food and didnt get even after 45 min. Even others faxed the same problem. We came out of the restaurant without eating. Such a bad attitude from the serving lady.
Good food for reasonable price. Youd think its really cheap but then come the 10% tax which makes it not cheaper than other equal restaurants in the area. But food is good and service pretty quick.
Only 4 long tables, so youll share with someone you dont know, which is nice because there is a really good vibe. Food is not the best (everything tasted way too sweet for my taste) but its the cheapest, half the price Im used to. Staff is kind and nice, and a bit slow...But thats not a problem when youre not in a hurry and talking to people you just met. I really enjoyed the dinner. Alquintopino approves 👍
Not the cleanest or most comfortable, but the food was nice and extremely cheap
The tastiest beef rendang Ive ever had
Very good food and had great meal while also sitting to other people which led to a great conversation. One of the more family style feeling places along the Ubud strip
Nothing special, I dont understand why it has so many stars....we were dissapointed with food and the waiters were not friendly. This restaurant is only for tourists, if you want to try something authentic and traditional, go to the different place.
Really dirty place, the juice was not natural, the food was no good, and sudenly lot of cockroaches started to get out of the wooden table 😣
Food is good. Affordable and authentic balinese cuisine. Not the fancy upper class restaurant which you pay for the atmosphere instead of the hunger in your stomach.
Weve got to this place uncertainly. However, we were very surprised. Large portions, simple and tasty food. Very good price without unnecessary extortion of money. recommend
Always a good place to have nice local food for a fair price. They serve nice food and good portions. Very inexpensive compared to a lot of other places around.
Excellent food & prices but there can be a little wait after you order.
Very cozy place, elevated above the street. Good food and fast service. Had the cashew chicken which was great.
Didnt look this place up just stumbled across it while looking for somewhere to eat. Let me say that all the positive reviews are right on the money. This is one of those with we had found it earlier places because I would have gone many times
The food is great, and cheap. Yes the service is slow, like many people have mentioned—deal with it. The food is worth the (not-so-long) wait. If you’re in a hurry, go to a fast food joint, this is not the place for you.
Best restaurant around.Cheap and simply DELICIOUS!
Incredibly good prices for local indonesian food. Fresh floor sitting area. You can’t beat the tempeh curry, black rice pudding and fresh turmeric juice!
Super ! Very tasty and good quantityPlace to go in Ubud for sure
Cant even find a reason for one star. Restaurant wasnt looking nice, food took really long, staff was sleeping in the restaurant and food was not even average. Cant understand why its a recommendation in the LP, probably the only reason why there are so many tourists
Great and cheap local food- you write the order out yourself
Worst food I ever had and really bad service and rude staff never try horrible food and don’t worth paying that much for that food
Its one thing that you dont understand English, but its totally another thing that you look annoyed after you realize that the bill includes and charges something you shouldnt have charged! This place is usually full because the Warung next to it is super popular and always fully booked. Dont be fooled by the crowd in it! Food is lower than average and service is a joke!
Authentic and Super value for money! The taste is much better than many pricey and touristy restaurants!
Just perfect!! Food, prices and people.
Please dont waste your time here..
After having eaten at other restaurants in Ubud, we were recommended to come here.We started off with two different juices which we very good and refreshing. And that about when everything derailed...We ordered 4 dishes and our first one took 30 minutes to arrive. The next 3, 10 minutes afterwards. We saw people that arrived after us being served before us. It didnt deter us completely, as we had no where to be. Please be aware that it is not a quick experience however. On to the food: mediocre at best. We ordered 4 dishes and nothing was actually great... Or even good. The Gado-Gado was lackluster. The chicken curry tasted like it was chicken soup with added spices. The chicken balls were vingerary with pickles. The Nasin Campur was at the bottom of the list of all the ones we tried here in Ubud.I wish I could rate it higher, but we had better food at cheaper prices at a few other locations that you have to dig up just minutes away. This place is probably successful due to its prices and locations.
