The Lord is also praised in the names of Thondeeswarar, Cheddeswarar, Chozheeswarar and Arudra Kabaleeswarar. Epigraphy mentions the temple as Thondeeswaram and the Lord as Thondeeswarar, Thondeeswaram Udaya Mahadeva, Thondeeswaram Udaya Thambiranar, Thondeeswaram Udaya Pidarar, Nayanar, Thondargal Nayanar, etc very nice temple
