Food is quite good and the space is cozy & comfortable. They have plenty of authentic Kerala cuisine that tastes absolutely homely.

Others can skip to the review.After a good time in Fort Kochi, we decided to travel all the way back to Panampilly Nagar. Was a sunny day and we were quite tired. Even though the ratings were below 4, we went ahead with the ‘Aavi plan’.There were couple of families in the restaurant. We settled in the corner table and ordered fresh lime, puttu, porotta, beef ularthiyathu, chicken fry and beef fry. By this time we noticed the left overs on the table that were not cleaned. So we chose another table.Got our fresh limes, puttu, beef ularthiyathu and porottas. We waited for quite sometime for the other dishes. Reminded couple of staffs as well. Tired of waiting, we shared the available dishes.Finally we got a strange bill with chicken fry as a menu item. We mentioned this to the staff. This guy, seemed to be very convinced and confident about the served item. He accused us of lying. I introduced myself with name and my job.There was a phenomenal argument by this aavi staff who, I felt can even convince us that we had chicken fry.By this time another person in the counter intervene and I think he was better aware of what just happened. Finally we pay up.We were frustrated, hungry, disappointed, didn’t get a bill and were labelled liars.THIS PLACE IS NOT FOR ORDINARY PEOPLE LIKE US. Nice ambience and people. Food is ok-ok. Puttu and varieties of curries(veg&non-veg) available. Pricing is also reasonable.

The unique name Aavi as in steam probably attracted me to the place. The ambience was equally unique with bamboo themed and hall open on the sides (non-ac). The food was of decent taste and moderately priced. I would rate 3* for the food +1* for the ambience. Must try their b**f options, which is far better than the chicken dishes. :)

The wost pothichoru ever had in my life Cost 265 Rs @ zomato not worth. Items which is showing not match with what they delivered. The items in pothichoru Rice, half pic of omelette, 1 thoran, 1 small mathi, sambar, payasam. This is clear case of cheating customers

I got some delicious food. Personal I will say in night time you will get a romantic atmosphere here. Ssshhh.... Its bit expensive even for traditional Kerala foods. But you have to admit with the taste. I saw many celebrities visit this place. Bit I dont care that bcz I appreciate the people behind this restaurant. Thank you guys and good luck.

Aavi was always one of my favourite places to eat,today I ordered their neychor and porichakozhi. Neychor was too sweet and the porichakozhi missed the mark.I guess the chef was just having a bad day but I am disappointed I was so looking forward to enjoying this meal today with family.

It was a good experience sharing Kochin style of fooooddiiee..... Loved the area.... Easily accessible and well organized. Really tasty food served well.... Parking is also available as the road is pretty broad in this area. Only that the prices are a little too high. But still good!

The place offers very authentic and delicious Kerala cuisine. We went in on Sunday, probably due to the crowding and our timings, many items in the list were not available. Also, by the time our orders came any additional requirement was not met due to scarcity of item. Not happy with that but otherwise the food is great.

Ordered their appam and chicken stew. This was for my guest in Kochi. Their manager Mr Ranjit who coordinated everything did a fantastic job. It was sent on time. Got a good feedback from my guest on the taste and quality of the breakfast.

The name Aavi which translates to steam immediately brings to mind the thought of authentic Kerala food being cooked. Truth be told it is the name which prompted me to try this place at first. The place has a unique ambience with bamboo theme and open hall. It is one the first floor of the building the entrance is not wheelchair accessible.The Aavi Promise board mentioned in the restaurant says that neither preservatives nor ajinomoto has been added. Going by the rush,taste and quality of food here I buy that.It is a non AC restaurant. But the place has sufficient number of fans and you feel not feel hot while inside the place.The food is moderately priced and the taste is decent.The flagship product of this restaurant seems to be Ilapothi chooru. Opening this sent me on a nostalgic journey to childhood days. Hot, steamed rice and curries, Omlet, Fish fry, Chutneys and Pickles wrapped in slightly toasted banana leaves.If I have a give a negative mark it will be for the service. A tad slow and wait time is more.The payment options are Card and PayTm in addition to Cash

Pothi chor is what brings us here each time. Like the food here. Just located above Ootupura. The only problem is the heat. It’s a non AC restaurant and can get steamy in the afternoons . Eat fresh eat healthy is what their tagline says . Now aavi allows offer free WiFi courtesy Asianet broadband.

Aavi used to have very good dishes in past. But their quality of food as well as service degraded badly now.Recently I visited the restaurant and ordered meals for lunch. Rice was not at all cooked properly and was hard like stone. Curries were not at all tasty and substandard.Service is mediocre and horrible. But cost of food is on higher side. Their Aavi Veg Special Meals costs 105 rupees which is not at all worthy for the money you pay.Not recommended at all.

Nothing special here. Just an average restaurant with slow on serving. We waited for around 1 hour with a group of people. Less quantity and little expensive.Not recommended for groups.

Though i have went to aavi restaurant several times, yesterday was the first day i ate anything from there. The dish i tried was erachiputtu which had a good quantity but what disappointed me was the taste. The restaurant does boast of natural ingredients without any unhealthy stuff so naturally i expected the taste to be great which was the main reason that lead to disappointment.

Good food and Awesome ambience.. totally loved the taste.. a tad expensive but its panambally nagar bro. They had less items on menu and we had to limit our appetitie.

They used to give best fish curry meals. Now its below average.

Nice place but more so for the younger generation. Food is good and so is service. A bit crowded with couriers of food delivery people taking up a lot of space. Not an upscale place. The whole wooden flooring creaks as people walk around. Parking is not always easy.

This is one of those places to go if you hate preservatives in food. As far as Ive noticed, their food tastes natural. It tastes great. It doesnt have that unnaturally full of flavor feel. They have a small menu. Theres plenty of parking available in the road in front. The service is quick. Prices are more than reasonable.

Pothichor which is the main dish everyone prefers during the lunch hours is good. But I feel they should give some gravy also along with it and increase the quantity of the curries they provide along with the pothi. Rest its a good dish for lunch with good quantity of rice

Food served very late, chicken had a rotten smell n we returned it but there were not even an apology from their side. We spoke to the manager as well. This post is to project the incident to the higher authorities. After all we visit a reputed restaurant for safe n good food which was not addressed.

I have been here several times. Excellent food and service. Fish curry meals and the fish selection is good. It does get very hot during the day in summer since it’s on the second floor and has no air conditioning.
