Nice staff, clean grounds, nice campers… I prefer more “backwoods” camping but for a campground/RV park, they have everything you need. I was tent camping and had no issues. Felt like I was at a camp because of their cool little office full of “goodies” (snacks and camping needs).

Very nice location near the water. It has a nice enough feel, considering it is city owned and right on the edge of the Duluth. The sites were roomier than expected . The Women in the office were extremely friendly and helpful.The only reason I didn’t give it five stars was because the bathrooms and showers could definitely be cleaned better and more often.

Had ana amazing stay over Native American day weekend. Beautiful, small campground. Good facilities. Power. Water. Fire pits. Right on the water with a fishing dock and a kayak launch. It rained the whole time. And the bathrooms got pretty messy. But other than that, it will probably be our go to campsite in Duluth.

Indian Point is an in-town oasis for camping. Easy access for big rigs - both in and out. Friendly and helpful staff. Laundry facilities were a little dated, but the equipment got the job done after a little help mechanically (one dryer heated but the drum didnt turn and another wouldnt work at all due to a blown fuse). It rained quite heavily while we were there, but standing water quickly drained. Quiet and comfortable. Nice hiking trails around the site.

It was good. Except the store needs to get refrigerators. More varity of things. Wood was expensive.

The restrooms arent too bad but there isnt any place to put your things when you take a shower. They could leave wi-fi off the list of amenities. It just sits and buffers until you give up. The spaces are a little close together but easy to maneuver into.

A great place to stay and enjoy Duluth from. It was nice to be able to go and tour Duluth and have a place nearby to come back to. It has a gift shop with trinkets and snacks, and it also has a restroom with private and public bathrooms. They also have a place to do laundry in the restroom building. Definitely recommend if you want a nice campsite close to the city of Duluth.

We stopped to drive through and were encouraged to do that. The grounds have huge trees and a good mixture of electric, water and sewer. We circled sites that interested us and will make reservations at a future time.

The campground is convenient for enjoying Duluth and the bathrooms are clean however, during the week of August 8th there was dredging occurring right offshore from the campground. They dredged all night so it made it very difficult to sleep. You would think it’s a violation of the city noise ordnance! This is the second time we’ve put up with this so next time we will try a different campground.

Campground was clean and nice. Enjoyed camping out there.Only complaint is my reservation was all messed up and the lady in the office seemed to not want to take ownership over the error and just wanted to argue with me instead as if it was my fault when I made it very clear what I’m doing when I booked over the phone. I apologized regardless, not worth taking to bed and ruin the trip.I’d also noticed it’s cheaper on the website to ask for full hook up rather than by the tent price charged with no hookups.I’d suggest rent by the spot would be more fair than by the tent and you get less, that’s a bit petty and more costly to the tenters.Overall, I’d go back.

Friendly staff and nicely kept campsites. A little on the grassy side, a few more trees wouldn’t kill anyone, but that’s really picking at nits. Approximately a fifteen minute drive to central Duluth and there is a lovely walking trail at the campsite for evening runabouts. Oh, and the office has a nicely stocked shop.

We are big, almost 44 feet long. Had full hookups and a pull through site that worked well for us. Water and septic worked fine. Less than 10 min to canal park. Easy for us to get in and out. Bike trail close by.

The location is great. The bathrooms were dirty all week. We stayed Monday through Friday. The dump station dumps into a hole then drains. My husband said it was the grossest dump station he has ever used.

Great small campground with a friendly staff that will accommodate tents, pop-ups and RVs of all sizes. Prices are fair and it has free Wi-Fi and decent bathrooms. Close to some good walking trails and has beautiful views of the St. Louis River. You are able to hear the trains and train horns through the night.

Very happy with the campground. Nice setting, very scenic. Only 7 full hook-up sites. Plenty more with power and water.The longer I stay here the better I like it. There is a nice walking trail that gives great views of the water.The folks in the office are really nice and willing to help with any issues.Next time Im in the area Id be happy to stay here.I hope in the future they have the opportunity to increase their full service spots.

Warning if youre thinking of camping here: ask them if the site is near the dredging rig on the St. Louis River. My site backed onto the river and that dredge goes 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Its so close to my site that when they hit bottom, my trailer shakes. Management just said, oh, thats too bad. Did not give any warning when I checked in or before I arrived, asking if I wanted to swap sites (if they could do that) or cancel due to the constant noise/vibration. Its a good location for Duluth activities, but my stay was horrible due to the dredging situation. So be careful and ask them about it before you reserve a site.

Nice quiet campground with friendly store and office. Showers and restrooms are clean. Plenty of walking trails around the river. Each camp site has picnic tables and fire ring which was super nice . Lots of nice people camping here

Nice campground. Ive stayed here twice now and it has been a good experience both times. The bath house was upgraded and the site was very peaceful. Looking forward to coming back again in the future.

Nice campground with lovely waterfront trails but there was too much ambient noise at night for tent camping.

We made reservations in advance asking for water/electric sites and next to 2 other couples we were traveling with. We were given electric only sites and not next to each other. Fortunately, we were there early enough to change sites. Not right next to each other but close. We didnt use the bathrooms but the other couples did and said they were ok. Sites were not well marked and very close to each to other. Not private at all. We wont go back.

We stay here on our way to and from the UP... this makes our 3rd year... great place to camp while you explore the Duluth area

Unfortunately this was the worst camping experience we have ever had. We specifically reserved a walk in campsite so that we would be away from other campers. We got there to find that they didnt actually have walk in sites. We were able to park at our campsite, which was directly next to other campers. The people next to us were talking loudly, playing music and sawing wood until 2am, even after we asked them to quiet down. Im sticking to state parks from now on, which has a ranger checking in on things at night. We had such a bad night that the next morning my 3 year old was whining, saying noooo. I dont wanna have fun. Wanna go home! If you dont mind being on top of your neighbor then feel free to pay their high prices but we will never be back.The photos show our car or tent in the foreground and the next campsite in the background. The next camper literally had their hammock just on the other side of our car. This campsite should not be labeled as a walk in site!

Great spot. My rv broke down on the way there for the weekend so needed to cancel. A friend was able to get me on the road the next day. So I called to see if my spot for Saturday was open, nope. Was told one price over the phone then was 10 dollars more when I got there a little while later. At 6 pm I didnt want to keep looking for another campground. HUGE amount of noise from river dredging ALL night would not have stayed there if i would have known . By the way water temp in one 2 x 2 dirty shower maybe 70 degree water at 6:30 am. Grassy campground good size sites but definitely not coming back river trail nice. Prior night GREAT campground in Grand Marais with fabulous views and hot water with alot more people for less money. I should have kept my money last night and just parked the Outback for free somewhere quiet.

Great place if youre in the area and looking for a quick place to set up camp last minute. That is if they have the availability. Campground has picnic tables and fire pits at every site from what I observed, and a clean bathhouse which was very convenient for our needs. Especially when youre tent camping and youre needing to wash up after an eventful day. They have bundles of wood for a fee of $5.00 a bundle. There are also connections for RV hookups. Only annoyances I had at this campground was seagulls waking me up at the crack of dawn. Roosters have nothing on these birds, ha. Hopefully you dont ever have to experience them.

Small but quaint. The gift shope/office was adorable. Sad I didnt purchase a kitty from the store. Our campsite was the most secluded however one site was still a bit too close. Still had water views and felt alone with nature for the most part. Would camp here again if opportunities arises.

A real sleeper of a location. On the south end of Duluth not far past Jay Cooke Park exist on highway 23. So much nicer than I expected that I barely know where to start. Incredibly quiet campsite, especially after 11PM. Close to bike and hiking trails and easy access to the city either by car or bicycle. Can be crowded, but even then you will have decent privacy in a camper or a tent. Terrific camp hosts.

The people camping across from us were very rude. Seems like they have been there for a while. Over all was not great and will NEVER go back.

Nice campground near city, gravel sites close together some with full hookups. Definitely need reservations. Bike rentals, fishing pier, great trail system connected to campground.

The campground has little space between electric and water spaces. The dump station is disgusting. Hosts aren’t very friendly.

Cleanest and quietest campground Ive been to. The only bad thing that happened was a drunk male pissed on my tent at 3 in the morning that wouldnt have been so bad but it took an hour to clear the smell from my tent and clean

This is a nice little campground for any visit to Duluth. Very quiet and the office employees are kind. The campsites are spacious. We went on a Sunday for a one night stay without making a reservation but surely it’s full on the weekends. They sell firewood and other essentials in the camp store. The bathrooms are SO clean and nice. Thanks for a great stay!

Friendly little campground. The staff was super helpful and friendly. We camped about 50 feet from Lake Superior, which was great. The water was super cold, but we still had a good amount of fun. They have firewood and lots of other amenities for sale in the office.

The view is beautiful! The sites are pretty good, some of them were very wet and muddy but they had rain for several days before we arrived. Some sites are much closer to level than others. The bathrooms are very clean. The little interaction we had with management was fine and they seem nice. It is nice that it is close to the city and close to hiking, biking and water access. I feel the price is a bit high for the site sizes and the few amenities that they offer.

Camping site is nice, the office people are helpul. The location is perfect, very close to the river and lake superior.The facilities could be cleaner though, 2 showers available + another single . Wear flip flops and it is not a problem ;)Wood is 7 dollars.. a bit expensive.At least there are showers available with hot water, in others campsite there are no showers, hence it is better than nothing.

Nice campground. Well located. Pull through sites are kind of close together, as expected. Quiet. Sea gulls are morning wake up call 😂. Able to drive a short distance to Canal Park downtown Duluth and surrounding state parks. Clean and well maintained grounds. Stag are helpful and friendly. Enjoyed our stay.

This is a good campground near Duluth. The bathrooms were fairly clean. They have a dump station with water, some sites with full hookup and other sites with water and power. No cable TV. They do have WiFi but the speed was fairly slow. Its fine for email.Sites themselves felt a but small, but theyre on a peninsula.Theres no playground for children. Close proximity to a bike trail and Lake Superior Zoo.

The staff is friendly and the facilities and campsites are clean. When we were here the other campers were also very quiet, which attests to how seriously the staff takes their pet policy (almost all the other campers had pets). The location is pretty great with biking/ hiking trails incredibly close and lots of fun stuff to do in the Duluth area.It is the only campground we found around the area, and is cheaper than other options, but still a bit pricey for camping. Also beware that mosquitoes here are fairly brutal, and occasionally you will hear boat horns.

Nice park. People need to slow down and stop kicking up dirt off the road. Alot of choke too (I mean smoke) from everyone having a fire. The trail along the river is great !! Not very big rig friendly, but doable.

Management is very rude!! No one talks to anyone. Had to repeat myself many times with many different staff as there were no notes for my campsite. Campsites are very small. Paid way to much for them to offer nothing at the campground for kids to do. Firewood is 7 dollars a bundle and you may get 7 pieces of wood in it. Cant bring in outside wood so your stuck paying that price. Bathrooms were very gross . I wouldnt even shower there. I went to my own house to shower. WiLL NEVER SAY HERE AGAIN!!!

Small campground with access to the St. Louis river. Fishing pier and nice gravel trail that leads around campground. Excellent location with nearby access to the Western Waterfront Trail and Willard Munger State Trail. Handicap accessible restroom and shower facility. Very friendly and helpful staff. There is a dump station located on the campground. Great family environment. Cute office with lots of gifts and souvenirs available for purchase. We have two comments on the 4 stars: The non -handicap accessible shower and restroom has only two stalls and the changing area consists of a parallel shower curtain 12 inches away from the main shower curtain (wet) with no seating area, nowhere to place towels and clothing except a couple of hooks. This could use improvement. There were also no waste receptacles in the stalls. With this said, the facilities were clean and in good working order. The other issue with this campsite is that we were piled on top of each other. They pack you in!! There are no trees to provide any barriers and there are other campers that will set up less than a foot away from you. We wouldve enjoyed our experience more if we had more space to ourselves and some privacy. I agree with the others who have commented that this campground is not a destination. It is simply a place to sleep after having enjoyed your time elsewhere.

Watch what they charge! We booked months in advance. We were told on the phone the rate was $39. We received an email confirming our reservation that showed $39. We were pre-billed the first night deposit at $39. When we checked in they billed us the balance due and when we did the math it was $40 higher than it should have been. They told us that was because two of our nights were over the tall ship festival. We didn’t even know the festival was going on and they never advertised on the web site or any of our info that the rate would be higher. Eventually after multiple discussions on the issue they did refund us back to the confirmed rate, but it was much more difficult than `it should have been to get it corrected.

Close to the Willard Munger biking trail and for this bike packer, I found it offered a few great bike or walk up tent sites and the location to all that Duluth has to offer is ideal. A very friendly staff. Thanks, Kate, Jason, Steve, and especially Mary!

Update... after going back and talking to second employee and them calling there boss they did refund the difference...after calling ahead and booked a site, they gave us a price of $39 per night, receipt provided to us for first night stay also showed $39 per night, when We showed up they charged us for the first two nights $49 per night because of the ship festival, we were not aware of the ship festival nor will we told it was a different rate, $39 is what we were told for our state and our receipt and information we were emailed reflects the $39, were unwilling to refund us the extra $10 per night. That cannot be legal.

If you want to have a wilderness experience dont come here. The place is a very crowded area with one area for bathrooms and showers (which are surprisingly clean). The reason Im rating it highly is that I went there to be able to bike into Duluth and set up a tent with a fireplace and picnic table. So in conclusion, if you wanna spend most of your time at a campsite for a wilderness experience dont come here, but if you just wanna explore and go to Duluth and the nearby attractions this place does the trick.

We stayed there in late July. The place was busy but we were told every campground sells out during summer weekends. Very well kept and the staff was helpful. Bathrooms were neat and clean.We loved it because it was wilderness, yet right in the city. Hiking, biking trails were right there. We reserved for next year.

Great campsites with fire pits and picnic tables. Wood is a little spending at $6.50 a bundle. The bathrooms and showers were clean and the staff was very friendly. My daughter goes to college in Duluth so this is a great alternative to hotels which range from $85-$150 I come hear and pay $28 and enjoy the beautiful outdoors. Check out Indian Point its a great place.

Great little campsite. The whole campground is sitting on a peninsula so there is water on alk sides of you with a path encircling the grounds to see it. Got a chance to stop and talk with the owners for a bit and they are great, light hearted people. A great spot right on the fringe of Duluth. 5 minutes from the heart of the city.

Great camp site! It gets busy, but Duluth. There was a noisy group and the camp host shut them down when it was clear they werent winding down for bed. Besides them, it was great for tents which is a nice change from campgrounds that should just be called RV parks.

Cramped campsites. Youre basically stuffed in together like sardines in a can. Not quiet and nobody checks to see if things are quiet after quiet hour begins -- people were partying until 2am in one campsite. Train noise and highway noise make it even louder. Bathrooms werent exactly clean. Poison ivy in abundance along the forest edges so watch out.

No trees to really separate each campsite, especially the tent area. Fire pits were nice. People were pretty loud until midnight. And we couldnt sleep past 7:15, due to the noise. Cool location surrounded by water, gets pretty chilly at night because of it though - pack warm!

Busy campground, so be sure to make a reservation during the summer season. There are limited full hook up sites, most are w/e. There are lots of outdoor activities and parks in the Duluth area. A great city to visit...

Nice place. People that run it were nice. Stayed there with friends and teenagers and all of us had a good time. Close enough to Duluth to go shopping, zoo, canal park or boating.

Our experience at the campsite was amazing. So quiet and peaceful. Bathrooms were just as expected for a small campground and shower worked just fine. Only problem was the worker who helped us directed us to the wrong campsite, then told us that WE went to the wrong site without power even though we reserved a site with power AND the map said it was a site WITH power. We then were able to move to a site with power, making sure with the same worker that it was changed that we were going to that site. The 2nd night of staying there we were confronted by a different worker who asked if we were even campers here. We explained the situation and she was kind and empathetic. I highly recommend making sure that your paperwork is in order before moving, but overall was a great experience. Would come back again!!

This place is perfect for family camping, group camping and tent camping. Every site is covered in grass, they let us have a tent on our camper site. The sites are very spacious. Close to downtown but yet country feeling, lots of walking trails, water views on three sides. Will come back in the future.

36$ a night for electric, convenient little shop that is not too over priced for the area. Beautiful scenery, fairly level ground with nice grass for tent camping. Friendly staff. A couple minute walk to the bus stop that goes all the way downtown. If you arent camping at split rock this is where to go!

Tent sites listed #72 and #73 are not tent sites. They are the space between the sidewalk and the shower bathroom. There isnt enough grass to even pitch a tent on - it is gravel and weeds like a parking spot for a vehicle. They did let us pitch our tent on the grass behind the showers/bathroom - which was accommodating. However, those two sites are not worth $30 nor the experience. Didnt spend too much time at this campground because I wasnt impressed. Showers/Bathroom could use some work.

Nice place with friendly staff. Near the Willard Munger Trail and a path near the water. There is a fishing dock (although it was cold so we didnt stay out very long or catch anything). Overall a pretty nice place, although the sites are in pretty open, grassy areas.

We love it here. We come here to camp every year. Never had any problems. Love the staff and everything. Not a lot of private sites but I find that at every campground Ive ever been too. Plan ahead for a spot as they get busy.

Experience will depend on which sites, some are big and open and some are small and right next to the bathrooms. The staff is super nice. Your experience will vary heavily depending on your site neighbors. We had some pretty considerate campers next to us so we had a great time. Hope this helps:)

We visit this campground every time were in Duluth. Great price and we especially like the easy access bike trails and peaceful docks. The close location to food and gas is ideal as well.

The layout of this campground makes it better for campers than tents. Its basically a large open field with marked sites. If youre in a tent you can hear everything and you do not have much privacy. Im sure a camper would provide a better experience. Additionally you can hear the harbor or some other industrial facility all night. The bathroom is decent and the showers function about the best of any campground Ive been in since they have a standard water control rather than a push button auto shut off thing like most campgrounds. The proximity to Duluth is a big plus and our main reason for staying. Its also very close to the trail head of the Willard Munger trail so it would be good if you wanted to ride that.

Went with some friends over the summer and stayed at one of the more secluded spaces available for camping. We had a great time. The campground is right on the water and there are lots of hiking trails.

Staff is less than friendly. If you make any noise after quiet hours they threaten you with the police. These people are killjoys.
