Probably the only Indian fine dine in West Bay area. Steep prices and limited options but tasty food and great staff.
Michelin star? Not good at all. Three of us had lunch and liked only two things there.1. Shrimps were OK (shrimps are inherently tasty if they are fresh and not over cooked).2. Burrata dish was nice change to normal paneer.3. Chicken 65 was dry (over cooked).4. Seekh kebabs were bland and dry.5. Mutton Rogan Josh was like any other restaurant curry (not Rogan dish at all).6. Daal was just ok.7. Chicken makhani was overly tangy (tomatoes were not rendered to its right point).8. Gulaab Jamun and rasgula were served with strawberry foam on top of rice pudding (kheer). My friend said canned gulab jamun are better than this).9. Worst of all was Chicken biryani. Blaaand. Not even seasoned with salt.We shouldve taken a picture of the food we left in our plates and serving dishes. All in all, a pitiful affair.Michelin star?
Our craving for Indian food while staying in the west bay brought us to Dalchini. Nestled inside the centara hotel the restaurant is a cozy nook on the ground floor. We ordered makhani murg (butter chicken) and Kashmiri rogan josh that took forever to come. There were only two other tables occupied and still it took over 30 minutes for the dishes to arrive.I must admit both the chicken and the mutton were soft and tender. However the gravy for the butter chicken was very dark and thick and the gravy for rogan josh felt a bit burnt. While the butter chicken I’d rate as tasty except for the dark color and for the mutton umm I’d reserve my comments. The garlic naan was excellent crispy and tasty. The multi grain roti was also very nice. The butter naan was so so.The masala chaanch was not spicy and lacked zeera and mint leaves. For a QAR 35 one would expect a tall or large glass but it was a medium glass half filled with ice 🧊.The music was trendy but was looped so the songs kept repeating in the hour we stayed dining.
Efficient staff, food arrives within short time and the first times weve visited the restaurant weve never been disappointed. The food is very good, prices are even better. Even our picky teenagers gives it the thumb up. Good Thai food.Chef balbant and outlet manager jay very polite and they made me feel special as soon as they get to know that its my birthday.
Dalchini is a bit on the high side being a Michelin Star rated Restaurant (Chef Vineeth) and both the lady waitresses Ms. Poorna and Ms. Blessymol know very well to be hospitable towards the Customers. The food too was very tasty and lip smacking indeed! FA warm and cosy place to chillax with family and friends, especially if you have a heavy pocket and need an experience from an ordinary Indian Restaurant. To add to the flavour, alcoholic beverages are also served.
The staff were very friendly and accommodating. They were able to confidently answer questions about the dishes. They ensured my paneer dish would not be too spicy as per my request. The food was presented beautifully and was visually pleasing. The prawn curry was delicious. The pre meal papadams were really tasty along with the chutney. The green chutney was too spicey for my taste, however my companion enjoyed it. All in all, very nice dining experience due to the ambience and delicious food.
Today before visiting this restaurant, I was worried. I had read some negative reviews and was mentally prepared to take the blame from others, who were to go for Lunch with me.Dalchini turned out to be excellent experience. The starters and desserts need special appreciation. The service staff were very courteous and quick.
Had the WORST EXPERIENCE! They kept us waiting for minimum 45 minutes, and NO! It wasnt crowded at all! And there was just one waiter to serve 4 tables! Also, she was so slow and the worst part she wasnt even seen at site, we need to keep waiting for her to attend our table. And she brought all of the dishes to the table’s end, we had to arrange it 😏 she didnt seem friendly at all. Menu had to be asked. The curries were good, but poratta and garlic naan was so hard. We couldnt eat it all. And they charged 12 QR only for one poratta. And 10 QR for garlic naan. Customer service was so BAD! Wont recommend this restaurant at all!!!
Nice Indian restaurant.
Worst experience... very slow service.. we visited this restaurant 2 days before, we ordered starter and it took 1hr for them to prepare n then for main course another 1hr..we wasted our 2 hrs in waiting only.. food quality is also not good and quantity is also less .. only high was price.. I will never refer this restaurant to anyone.. it has just a name nothing inside to make you feel good. Hope google allows to put reviews without any star..
Decent food, however very overpriced. Hotel has no valet (first world problems i know lol) but it meant we had to walk a while with the baby in the cold.
Dinner yesterday at Dalchini was excellent, best Indian food in Qatar by far, cool music and great service from Poona. Great way to end 2020.
Average food.over priced.Nothing so exceptional about the ambience or the food, nor the service. Not very well informed about applicable discounts, gift vouchers that they actually accept.
The food was amazing and taste was fabulous it was very tasty food in my six year here in Qatar I have never get this taste awesome. And staff is so nice Blessy And chef Bhalwan special thanks to Mr. Jay he was so helpful to choose food and he is very friendly I love there service. Hope to see you guys again.
Very courteous staff, good food...can be plated more appealingly. Though the dessert was presented superbly.
Good Food and great ambience. Staff service also very good
Wonderful service at the Friday brunch. A nice array of veg and non veg starters and mains for the group, even made sure to have vegan options for us.
The taste is superior, the ambiance was nice
Decent food and ambience. Bit hyped on internet. Staff were friendly.
Been there first time. For social brunch. Table top set menu which can be refilled. Excellent starters especially the prawn kempu. The chat was excellent. Main dishes also tasted very good. Nan breads were ok, not the best, but ok. Biriyani was good. Gulab jamun and rasgolla was very good. Rice pudding was not sweet enough. Very attentive staff, could have been more proactive in filling the drinks. Overall good experience. Would definitely recommend the food.
Really good restaurant with a delicious range of Indian food. Expensive, but worth it.
Good food good service but no kids menu.
Cost wise food is not at that level. One time visit is ok.
First time visited.... Nice place... lacks enthusiasm
Love the atmosphere. Definitely we will come again.
Worst vegitarian food I ever had. There should be a rating less than one star, i would have given it.
NYE the restaurant was great fun, cool music, great food and service. We all enjoyed our evening, will be back.
Wonderful Indian food and great service
Delicious food in a wonderful ambience - the place to dine in
Too costly. Less quantity. Bad quality
Poor food quality
Id been there before and the food was excellent, the best dal makhani in Doha. Returned back yesterday after a few months and the dal makhani was the worst ever. It had a sweetness to it. I dont eat meat but the others with me said the butter chicken was awful, chicken was overcooked and chewy. The staff are really polite but that does not compensate for the taste of food. I dont eat onion not does my husband like it very much, the previous time of our visit, that was not a problem, however this time it was. The food takes ages to come out, over 20 to 30 mins or even more per course. The restaurant was completely empty except us and then one more table got occupied so there was no excuse for this major delay. We come in around 7.30 and told them that we dont eat onion so what is possible to have without it. Chose a starter that was like a chaat and the waitress confirmed that this was possible. 15 to 20.mins later and the dish comes out full of raw onions and so had to be sent back. Then ordered for another dish with she said the chef will make without onion. After 20 mins she comes out and says its not possible to make without onion ( why not tell me this before, why wait for 20 mins to decide if it was possible or not) and so I just gave up and said to bring it the way it is and she said it will take another 15 mins. If the restaurant is busy its maybe understandable. They came and apologised many times and even waived the charge off the starter, but I dont think I will be returning again.
Best Indian restaurant in Doha, hands down!
Excellent food and service
Good atmosphere, superb food, and a great fine dinning experience. The right place for Indian food fans.
Presentation and hospitality was very nice.
Really good
Food selection was limited.
Food is food but service is very slow. Food takes forever to be served.
Amazing Indian food.
Lovely decor, warm place. Starters were good esp Dahi Kebab, they were melt in mouth. We loved the Biryani and Saag. Both drinks (cocktail and mocktail) were a good recommendation. Overall a memorable experience, although we would love to see more Vegetarian option on the Menu for a come-back
Fantastic place
