Went there after reading so many good reviews and had high expectations. And the expectations werent shattered. Pizza was absolutely amazing and so was the coffee. The owner was gem of a person, so humble. He himself offered to get a half and half pizza made since me n my wife both were struggling to settle on a single flavor pizza. Just dont order in a hurry since the order will take 20-30 mins.

Good pizzas, hospitable staff and lovely ambience

Beautiful, warm and cozy just behind the Norbulinka Institute. I had a coffee and bacon pizza and it was great. On a cold rainy day the coffee was perfect. The pizzas are made using traditional ovens and it was perfect 👌. Had a good chat with the owners and they are really nice and friendly people. You should definitely say hi to them when you visit this cafe. I don’t have a sweet tooth but tried their Chocolate cake and it was awesome! This is a nice little cafe and very moderately priced.Tip: Take a book with you and enjoy their coffee, pizzas and desserts!

Its a good place to sit down and enjoy the cafe itself is very good but the pizzas flavour and textures have changed earlier they made pizzas which were so good i would want to visit every other day but now the flavour and texture has drastically changed the choice of cheese is different and the base has been altered . Their cakes however tell a different story they are heaven. When you visit try their meat lovers pizza , their blue cheese variants(only if you have a tatse for blue cheese , its an aquired taste) and their banoofie pie.cheers! And happy food hunting!

Firstly I would like to mention the ambience of the place that is absolutely home like they welcome you with a big smile and always assist you with the menu so that you get the best. The pizza is yummy and has a great wooden oven taste to it, one cannot miss the opportunity to taste thier pizza and moreover I really like the wooden interior of the cafe gives a great feeling

One of our friend recommended us to visit this cafe and try their wooden pizzas and we loved their peri peri and mexican pizza (one pizza split into these two toppings) . Also , they serve really good cakes. Must visit place. 😍

I really love this place. The pizzas here are really tasty and the ambience is wonderful. My favorite thing to have here is the Japanese Green Tea (matcha). Its so different from the other green tea that you find in India. You must give it a try!!!

Pretty good place to visit with your family and with friends or with your date

My brother told about this place and he did mention that the cakes here were very good and reminded him of home. When we finally got a chance to try some we were quite late as weve been restaurant hopping in Norbulingka (Highly recommend doing this) so they were about to close. We had to ask them to pack the banoffe pie (It was the best), a chocolate cake (not too sweet, light and scrumptious) and another cake that was quite good (Cant remember the name). While we were discussing in our mother tongue where we will eat these or if they will make it beyond the parking lot the owner asked us if we were from Shillong. It was quite nice to meet him and now my brother knows someone who shares the same hometown. FYI 2 out of the 3 made it beyond the parking lot but I dont think that we will have enough control to do so the next time.

It was a very good experience staying here few days in sep 2019 with family. Very neat and secured place with a view of mountains and with lot of trees full of different kinds of birds. Service was very good.

Our friends from Dharamshala took us to this beautiful Joyful Cafe, they bragged about this place so had few expectations and was not disappointed. Expectations were met over and above. Beautifully decorated with minimal decor but exquisite and pleasant to eyes. Great pizzas, both veg and non-veg, also ordered a plate of french fries with keema and cheese just yummy were gobbled up in seconds. The banuffei pie was the perfect way to end a good meal. Service was great. Keep it up. Will surely visit again in the next trip.

I am from Delhi and trust me this is one of my top 3 Italian restaurants. Its amazing. A must try. Go for the banoffee pie. You wont regret this.

The place is quite and away from the hustle bustle of noisy Mcleodganj. The food is great. Love the mushroom lasagna, the veg lover pizza, the chocolate cake and super strong cappuccino. Folks are warm and friendly. Food takes time to come , so come here when you have time. Definitely recommend

Spent a really good time at the Joyful Café.I had a banoffee pie and a pinapple ,lemon and ginger juice and both were really great .The place has a really nice ambience .I recommend this place and would come back again to have the pizzas.

We had great time at the Cafe. We ordered Keema fries and chicken pizza.. Delicious with no words to explain and good for 4 people. The interiors were welcoming and staff was really warm. This place should be on your must visit list when in or near Dharamshala. Have posted a picture of our food, this should give you a good idea of why I am recommending.

If youre looking for the best Pizza in Dharamshala, Joyful is the place to go. The food is simply amazing but thats something you will hear from everyone in the area. What you probably wont hear is how relaxing the ambience of the place is. Joyful is located at a peaceful residential area near the Norbulingka Monastery. The staff is extremely pleasant and helpful. Overall its an excellent place to relax and have some good Italian cuisine.

As good as it can get when it comes to pizza’s. Must have pizza # Classic pizza. must have pasta # basil leaves fresh tomatoes and mushrooms. Yum drink # kiwi and strawberry crush. Simply amazing.. In love with the Blue Cheese pizza and pasta. They are top class, comparable to any international standards. Would visit Dharamshala again only for that blue cheese pizza and pasta... Sluuuurrrrp!

Great ambiance but the pizzas are just awful. They use fake processed cheese which isnt even stringy. The pizza sauce is watery and doesnt taste like tomato at all. Because its such a watery thin sauce you basically just get processed cheese on crust. Its such a shame because they have the wood oven and it could be great if they just used real cheese and proper sauce. Even the weird Ammal cheese would be better than this. The crust is nice and thin though. Service is friendly and swift. Dont listen to the other reviewers here; theyve clearly never had real pizza.

Pizza to die for, a rare treat...I tried the red onion, potato and blue cheese....super crispy thin crust, served with all the traditional Italian touches. One of the best pizzas I have ever eaten anywhere in the world ...and proper coffee, first flush Darjeeling tea...amazing cakes...nicely furnished. A gem of a place.

Awesome food at a decent rate. We tried the wood oven pizza and it was very tasty certainly worth the price (Around 350 around for veg. and around 430 for non veg.). Definitely worth a visit in this part of the town!!!!

I had searched this place during my visit to Norbulinka Institute in June 2017. The owner happened to be at the cafe. We were just wowed by their delicious wood oven baked pizzas and awesome deserts. Unfortunately due to emergency upon return I never got a chance to appreciate the whole experience. The owners are very nice people. They even made my kid put the pizza into the wood oven and showed him the whole process. I strongly suggest a visit to this cafe at least once.
