The book stores are pretty good.I always find something to have in my collection.

A place with rich heritage of being a cultural centre. But recently the book shops have been depleted in collections and rare books are rare here as well. The cloth shops are no longer popular like before. Restaurants here is still going good

Who does not know Aziz Super Market!! It’s popular and well known to everyone and located at around Sahbagh circular. Mostly it’s so much familiar for books, clothes etc.

Not so catchy but so traditional...

A market of mainly mens clothing. T- shirts, punjabis and trousers are sold here in reasonable price. Some shops also sell womens clothes, mainly sarees. Few eateries and computer/photocopy corners are also there.

Books, Stationary, Clothes, Sweets & Swarma... You will find them all here. Price ?-Differs from store to store.Quality?- Depends on your scale. :D

Its a great opportunity to share something about this shopping mall and complex. This is three storied market and was famous for original literature books and medical copy books. It was a popular gathering for poet. Writers and artists. Now it become more attractive for boutique and fashion houses. Front line is for food and cafe. Car parking is available but limited. Very near to Shahbag still popular to city dewellers. Tuesday closed.

As per my experience it’s one of best places for shopping of clothings around Shahbagh area.Some book stalls are also available here.Overall environment and pricing is far better than newmarket.

Many useful things are available here, including foods. A big lacking of this place, like all other areas of Bangladesh, is clean & hygienic public toilets.

Favorite place for hangout as well as shopping. Huge collection of punjabi, fatua, tshirt and womens dresses can be found in different shops.

This is a place to buy good books, t shirts, other clothings. Also there are some dorm type rooms upstairs which are suitable for bachelors to rent. Specially young doctors undergoing specialized courses in PG Hospital (Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, adjacent to the market) live here in cheaper rates. The marker has several tea stalls which are good place for gathering of cultural activists.

Once it was a great place to meet and buy essential things, now only book shops are helpful, the cloth houses charge over price. Food courts arent satisfactory and the residential area is not worthy of living still charges damn high.

Very very congested place.but its market is realy handy for post graduate doctors.many book stores available here which is full of cheap medical books.as the medical book are so costly ,its been a relief for new doctors.many food stores are available here .they serve so delicious juice.there been many clothing stores here as well as medical equipment stores also.pathok somabesh book store is also situated here..from 3rd floor all are residential spaces.as a whole its a nice place for junior doctors.
