Devprayag is considered important after Prayag Raj. Devprayag finds mention in Naradapurana and Skandapurana. This pilgrimage place on the Rishikesh-Badrinath motorway is located at the confluence of Bhagirathi and Alaknanda. In the Satyuga, a famous sage named Dev Sharma did penance of Vishnu at Devprayag by eating leaves for ten thousand years and standing on one leg for a thousand years. Lord Vishnu was pleased with the devotion and said that ask for the bride I am happy with your penance. Muni Dev Sharma said that God our love be at your feet and this holy area is going to destroy all sins in the Kali Yuga, you should always dwell in this area and the person who worships you in this area will get the highest speed .Lord Vishnu said - this will happen. In Tretayuga, I will be known by the name of Rama, son of Dasaratha, and after killing the demons of Ravana, I will come here for some time by running the kingdom of Ayodhya, till then you stay in this place. Bhagavan became impatient after this and Dev Sharma started living there.Upon coming to Tretayuga, Lord Vishnu was born as Rama, the son of Dasharatha, after killing Ravana and spending some time in Ayodhya and came here and said - O Muni! You will get direct salvation and this place will be famous in all the three worlds. Saying this, Rama, Sita and Lakshman started dwelling at this place. Due to this Dev Sharma Muni, it was named Devprayag. The main temple of Devprayag is the Raghunath Temple. There is a gold urn on the summit of the temple. There is a huge statue of Lord Rama in the sanctum under the summit. There are jewelery on both feet and hands and gold crowns on the head. He has bow and bow in his hands and shield in his waist. On one side is the statue of Sita ji and on the other side is the statue of her brother Laxman. There is a brass statue of Garuda outside the temple. On the right side of the temple are Badrinath, Mahadev and Kalabhairava. To the north of the confluence are the Varah Shila, Vetal Shila, Vashishta Tirtha, Poshpamal Tirtha, Vilva and Surya Tirtha, Bharat jis temple etc. on the banks of the Ganges. To the east of Sangam is Tundishwar Mahadev. There is a sacred tank on the banks of the Alaknanda. It is said that a Bhilani named Tunda meditated here for a long time. Shivji appeared to him and became famous by the name Tundishwar. It is said about the Pushpamala Tirtha that when Vishwamitra was doing penance on the Himwan mountain, Indra, the gods, sent a kinnari named Pushpamala to cause destruction in his penance. Pushpamala left the Kusum arrow of Cupid on Vishwamitra which distracted Vishwamitra. He cursed Pushpamala that you should be makri. On requesting Pushpamala, Vishwamitra said that you should stay in Devprayag for some time. In Treta Yuga, Lord Rama along with Lakshmana will liberate you. When Tretayuga came to Devprayag with Rama Lakshmana and started bathing in the Ganges, Makri snatched him and Ramchandraji beheaded him. As soon as the head was cut off, a nymph appeared and started praising Lord Rama. Then Lord Rama said that from today it will be famous as Poshpamala Tirtha. Worshiping here, I will be pleased with those who take bath. By offering ancestors at this place, they will easily get to heaven.Above the Vetal Tirtha is the Surya Tirtha, in which bathing gives freedom from leprosy. A Brahmin named Meghithithi did austerities to the Sun God here in ancient times. Pleased with that, Lord Surya asked to ask for the bride, then the Brahmin said, Lord, you stay in this shrine and make it famous in the three worlds. Surya said this will happen. It is believed that by taking bath in Surya Kunda on Magha Sudi Saptami, a person stays in the Sun for a long time. When Vamana Lord measured the entire planet in three steps. At that time, a stream of water flowed from his stage nail which fell on Mount Meru, passing through Dhruv Mandal and Saptarishi Mandal and was divided into 4 parts. One stream of which brought King Bhagiratha in the shoes of Shiva who came to be called Bhagirathi and the other stream came through Alkapuri and called Alaknanda. Both came together in Devprayag. This only
I wonder if the water is cold, they ask for money - give it, in 10 minutes the same one again will beat you out of money
