This is a unique wonderful theatre to visit, enjoy and appreciate. The Morton Organ played by Clark Wilson is fabulous to hear. There are not many places as beautiful or wonderful as The Ohio Theatre.
Historic and beautiful theater! Excellent place for films and events. Comfortable and great seating.
Magnificent theater, with a long stories history behind it. Favorite thing to do here is see classic movies during the summer, with the organ show before the film starts. Cheap too!
Everyone needs to experience wonderful place at least once in their lifetime. It does not disappoint.
Beautiful theater fit with classic movies for all ages. Ive seen 3 of my favorites here on the screen and hope I can catch some other ones throughout the next year!
Awesome, love how the organ dude just slinks down when its time for the movie to start like a cartoon lmaooo
The Ohio is a fantastic historic theatre downtown. They do an excellent job of selecting touring shows. There is really not a bad seat in the house.
My family had a wonderful time. The ambiance of the theater was spectacular. The #BalletMets performance was enchanting especially for my first time at the Ballet. The experience was outstanding. It was a Christmas present for my kids and their statement was this was either the coolest or best present. Then the oldest said why cant it be both.
I love this location! The architecture is breathtaking. It takes you back to the 20s when it was built. This visit we saw Phantom of the Opera. The set was amazing they even had pyrotechnics. There isnt the a bad seat in the house. The cast was incredibly talented. I didnt hear one mistake. I highly recommend anyone coming here for a show.
Nice place. Stil remember watching the police trash and set fire in the lobby last summer to try and blame protesters.
Such a blast watching summer movies here. Its a beautiful old theatre. Very kind staff too!
Beautiful theater. They had a large staff available to seat patrons and answer any questions. There are various concessions stands offering coffee with liquor, wine, candy roasted nuts, water. Some of these stands you can preorder for intermission.Theater opens at 7pm if you have tickets prior to the show. 7:30pm before they allow patrons into the main area. (*the show I attended, Hamilton, started at 8pm).
Was absolutely beautiful..not a bad seat in the house!!! And the staff were so friendly and helpful...especially the lady who showed us were the other ladies room was ! GREATLY APPRECIATED! Parking right next door and restaurants withing walking distance !! Arrive early to explore and enjoy all the architectural beauty of this place.
Visited to see a Hitchcock movie and enjoyed. the organ recital and look forward to live performances of Come from Away this February.
Beautiful theatre and a Columbus Historical Treasure! The staff are friendly and helpful (Brad helped us and was so friendly and accommodating) attended CAPA movies and broadway shows. Will continue to attend! Parking is easy and close. Love this place! Please support the refurbishment if the organ!!!
Went for Cartoons with my son. We both had a blast!
They have a small shop to get snacks and drinks, kind of expensive. But the theater is awesome and staff are amazing. We have been there a lot for ballet, musicals and etc and it has always been wonderful. I suggest second floor compared to back of the first floor.
Attendee several shows here over the years, always enjoy.
Saw North by Northwest always wanted to see it on a huge screen.
Wonderful theater in the center of downtown. Perfect for the CAPA Movie Series in the summer and the Nutcracker in the winter as well as Broadway Across America shows throughout the year. The ushers are always friendly and happy to help.Convenient Parking is available in the State House or Columbus Commons garages. On Sundays the street parking meters are free and generally available close by.There was a lovely kids activity area for the Nutcracker to have their picture taken with the dancers and to make a paper crown. The snacks however are geared more toward adults. Recommend bringing fruit snacks if you have a picky eater or they are not necessarily fond of chocolate.
Atmosphere was wonderful .... the music and movie awesome
Glad to be back to on site shows! Beautiful theatre.
The Ohio Theatre is a gem and one of my favorite places in the city of Columbus. It was built in the late 20s, and in the late 60s it almost fell to the wrecking ball. Thanks to the people who formed CAPA, it was saved and remains a gorgeous symbol of days gone by.I have seen numerous stage performances here including concerts, ballets and plays, but my favorite way to visit the Ohio is in the summer for the Summer Movie Series. They show a silent film each season with live organ accompaniment on the Mighty Morton Organ and many classics in 35mm and DCP.The Ohio offers backstage tours by appointment too.
Very well run.
Summer Movie Series is wonderful.
Absolutely gorgeous theater! Had the pleasure of seeing hamilton there recently and I was really blown away.
Great theater. No problems getting in or out. The staff is very kind and knows what theyre doing. We watched Wicked and loved the show.
One of the best places in Columbus to visit.
Beautiful historic landmark and the love organ for the great capa movie series is so fun.
Such a beautiful place.
Great place to visit! Beautiful architectural designs and Columbus Symphony Orchestra with the kids was wonderful! Great outing! Thank you Vet Tix!
Beautiful building. Ornamental doesnt even cut it. A historical building that must be experienced by anyone passing through the city. Especially if you can catch the symphony playing.
Beautiful restored theater, Morton theater organ, great summer program of old movies. Tours are available occasionally - great guides?
This place is so unique inside
The Ohio Theatre is truly a special place to see amazing events.
Beautiful old rehabbed theater must see to appreciate
Easy parking, kind people, beautiful venue, easy to see. My daughter is on life support and lays in a bed on wheels. They even made a place for her to see the Nutcracker. We had a great time.
This is truly the most beautiful theater Ive ever seen. Every time Im here, I get lost following the intricate details of the ceiling. The shows are always incredulous, and the Ohio Theater captures a true theater experience.
Beautiful building! Great history! Seating is a bit cramped and not talk person friendly, unless youre willing to pay the ticket price for a good seat. Balcony isnt terrible since its a smaller theater. Summer movie series is great and holiday shows with the columbus orchestra are great and usually free or very inexpensive!
Had so much fun at this concert Handels Messiah. Sat towards the front and thoroughly enjoyed the sights and sounds. Do yourself a favor and enjoy a show in this beautiful theater. Its worth the price of a ticket just to immerse yourself in the experience. So wonderful!
Opening night of Hamilton .. A great historic theatre in Columbus, Ohio.
I absolutely love this theatre - I’ve attended many a performance within its ornately decorated interior, from high school and college graduation (go CCAD!) to Broadway plays to classic movies, and each event was pleasant and memorable. I’ve found the staff to be courteous and always very pleasant, which really does add to the experience, especially if it’s a night out on the town. Speaking of which, there’s a ridiculous amount of parking nearby, at least four massive parking garages (statehouse, long street, Columbus Commons, and the old city center garage), and tons of places to grab a bite to eat before or after, both casual and fine dining. So if you have the opportunity to attend an even at the Ohio Theatre, the world (Columbus) is your oyster: centrally located, lots of parking, and dining all within walking distance.
Beautiful interior, you get a historic feel when you walk inside. Prices and experience are worth it.
I loved the nutcracker function, I recommend them. The structure of the theater is spectacular, very elegant and old.
Great place to see a concert or show. We go to at least two shows a year and am always pleased with the product. Parking is easy. We park at the statehouse which is quick to get in and out of. Seats are in good shape and the legroom is what you would expect, not a ton, but not cramped. Restrooms and concessions are as expected. Noting great, but sufficient. It is a beautiful place and worth the time and experience to go.
Very beautiful place
Cool theatre. Sat in Loge B and the view was great!
Its something to see.
We recently saw Jurassic Park with CSO and Brahms v. Radiohead and both were fantastic!
Beatiful place.
Beautiful, historic theater rich in tradition. The ambiance adds to your theater experience!
This theatre has so much character and class. They offer a great variety of shows and movies and is a great place to enjoy an evening!
Such a beautiful and amazing theatre! We saw Hamilton and enjoyed every minute of it!
Always a great time seeing events here. Hamilton was amazing last night. Cast did a great job.
Occasionally they sent people to be seated in the middle of the performance, which was a little strange, but great atmosphere nonetheless.
The best theater in Columbus
Beautiful, nostalgic Ohio Theatre. 💙💙💙 Love the concerts, the movies, and the pipe organ! Theyre working to raise $100k to restore it.
Wonderful theater. Symphony is fantastic. However, the seats are way too small for a 62 person with fit physique
I always love experiencing the beauty of this lovely venue. We saw Ballet Mets Don Quixote, and the dancing was exceptional, as were the costumes and sets. But it felt like the story was just to showcase the dancing, rather than the dancing telling a story.
