They have nice all Indian starters, chats, dosas and main courses. They have big area for the sit outs and dedicated place for buffet. They do have party hall for small function containing 25-30 people. The food is good and tasty. If you are vegan you should try. I gave 4 star because you can’t force people to choose their restaurant and choose what they want to eat.
The orders were filled accurately. The quality of a very difficult food item and its accompanying foods was not only PERFECT but also SUPERB! I take a 200-mile round-trip to order from Gokul Cafe. It is 100% worth it!

With just a few months’ notice, the owner helped us to put together menus for two buffet meals – a North Indian-inspired meal and a South Indian-inspired meal. Both meals hit the mark – not too oily or spicy, but full of flavor. Our guests from all backgrounds shared with us how much they enjoyed the food, and we did as well.What impressed us most was how smoothly and professionally everything went on the day of our wedding. The food arrived promptly and was set up efficiently, and the staff were professional and kind. We had several special requests for the meal to fit the style of our wedding, from ethically sourced ingredients to compostable plates, and the owner made an added effort to accommodate them. He treated us with great warmth and helped us to make our event truly special!

- went for buffet style lunch- all vegetarian menu- overall great cleanliness amidst all the covid age- decent food variety- Taste was okay for an Indian guy like me. Little less spices and hotness. But would be great for anybody new to Indian cuisine.
Was hoping for authentic South Indian food. Instead we were met with burnt Cashewnuts.it was not worth the wait.
This is one of my favorite South Indian restaurants in Columbus. My husband and I drive 30 minutes to come here because I know I’ll always be able to have authentic South Indian food that tastes just like my parent’s cooking. We’ve always been treated with kindness from the servers and owner and have had great service. We recently went to Gokul for lunch and had some yummy uthapams. Definitely recommend to anyone wanting to try Indian food or looking for the comfort of home cooked food.
This is the second time Im visiting this restaurant, the owner is very sweet, he always visits our table to greet us. The staff is friendly too. When it comes to the food, there is room for improvement with the North Indian dishes but the South Indian dishes are top notch. Will surely visit this restaurant again.

Disrespectful owner and worst customer service. The weekend buffet was not good. When asked about other items on the menu, the owner responded rudely. I know the restaurant business is the most affected in CoVid times but I at-least expect a bit humility and respect from the place. Overall a worst experience. I seriously would not recommend this to anyone who want to spend their bucks on a pleasant weekend for a buffet.
This is the one of the best vegan restaurant that i came to . Owner is amazing and he always customize the orders to your perfection. Owner always takes care of your needs and makes sure that you are 100 percentage satisfied with your foods. He goes above and beyond to make Sure that your food is up to par.
Ambience was ok. The food was the worst part. For buffet with 10 items charging 15.99 is too much. The paneer butter masala was bad. Their poori and veg spring rolls were so sour. The rasam and sambar they added too much hing.overall below are food

Worst experience ever - highly rude and disrespectful owner who would make you feel as if you are ordering for free. No doubt the kitchen and restaurant staff keeps changing every few weeks which also leads to inconsistent food taste and quality. I’ve had several instances where either there were food items missing in a pickup order or the food quality was way below par. A few years ago, this was a good vegetarian-only restaurant with a fair buffet price.During covid, it appears like the management has changed.As a result, the buffet no longer has any appealing alternatives, and it now costs nearly double what it used to.Not recommended.There are many good options in the same area with the same price tag for a buffet.
Great vegetarian food and awesome taste. But, unfortunately, the treatment towards the customers is very bad. Every item, they take at least half an hour to deliver even without woo many people in the restaurant. If there are too many customers, it is hard to imagine how much time they would need to serve.
One of the best Indian restaurants in Columbus Ohio. Food was amazing and owners hospitality was amazing. We felt ike home. Food was prepared as to my expectations ans taste was amazing. I would recommend this restaurant if you want to experience pure vegan food.
Flavorful and not loaded with oils. Tuesday lunch buffet is entirely vegan!! Many GF options on the buffet, which is also available on weekends, too. Friendly staff, and they will help you identify GF food on the buffet (not marked). Easy to find with plenty of parking. They also have a room for private functions.
Weekend buffet is a complete waste of money.Vada was full of oil. Dosa was not roasted well. Buffet plates were not cleaned well. Rice quality was poor. Lemon rice was completely out of taste.When we tried to give a review on dosa, owner said everyone likes dosa here except you. He never showed interest on taking our review.In my opinion, customer service and respect are most important parameters in Service based businesses, unfortunately we didnt see the both at this restaurant. I hope this restaurant can do better in future.
First time I visited Columbus, same day have been in Gokul Cafe as its pure vegetarian restaurant.I would highly recommend Gokul cafe if you are indian food lover specially vegan or vegetarian.Would recommend Paneer butter masala,chapati and masala tea indeed.Also I liked samosa & Gajar halva. Must visit this place if get chance.
I went to lunch buffet with family, limited items on buffet, no appetizers, no desserts, no fruits or salad. He just put few items, worst part vegetarian restaurant with no veg biryani or kurma, and also the price is high.

This was our second visit to Gokul Cafe and the food was just as deliicious as the first time. The staff were very friendly and gave helpful answers to our questions. They also have vegan options clearly marked and there is a huge variety. Highly recommend especially if youre looking to try something new.
Earlier my rating for Gokul Cafe was 5 and I am considering 0. Why 0??1. Service - 0, when we entered waited for more than 15 minutes to have menu though restaurant was more than half empty. They gave us jug of water but no glasses. We ordered Lassi which never came and after finishing dinner we waited for 15-20 minutes and then also no one entertained us so simply went to counter for check and then they told me your Lassi is coming.2. Food quality - 0, me and my wife ordered pav bhaji but Pav was like a toast as may be they were prepared very early so it was too hard. Bhaji was tasting like tomato basil soup with cream as bhaji was containing cream and I was astonished by finding cream inside bhaji.No one cares when you are ready to order or when you are ready to check out.
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!!Smaller portion size and same cost!I picked my food up to notice that the portion size is smaller which I figured the business kind of went down since COVID. But one day I called in to place my order and I typically order the same meal for dinner and the owner picked up the phone and asked me “what do I want?” In a disrespectful tone he also rushed my order due to his aggravated tone he made me change my mind so I canceled my order! I will never dine here ever again because the OWNER IS EXTREMELY DISRESPECTFUL. All of the other people who work there are pretty nice. Maybe the owner shouldn’t run a restaurant business!!!! This has to be, by far the worst customer service Ive experienced. I placed the order on phone and was promised pickup in 30 minute. Upon arrival, I had to wait another 40 minutes. There was not even an acknowledgement of delay or an apology. If they dont improve their service, I dont think they will be in business for long. And of course I would NOT recommend this place.Response to the owner: It wasnt through 3rd party, but an order placed directly over the phone. I understand pandemic affecting restaurant ability to hire enough people, but courtesy is free. Apologizing for a unseen delay doesnt cost extra.

Never had such a bad experience in an Indian restaurant before. We chose to go with the buffet for Saturday lunch and we were given the option to add dosas/idlis/vadas for a little extra. The idlis and vadas were so bad and I’m sure it came straight out of a frozen packet. Moreover they charged for a full buffet even for our 3 year old. We were just 2 adults and 2 young kids, and we ended up paying $62 for buffet. And let me tell you.. the buffet had just 3 veg curries, 2 rice varieties and puri.. that’s it!! Absolutely no value for the money.. The owner’s behavior was so rude when we asked why we were charged so much. The reason he said was that we took 4 plates for the buffet which is ridiculous.. Avoid this place if you’ve a choice.
If you are are complete vegetarian and dont eat any meat or sea products, this is the perfect place, Gokul is completely 100% Vegetarian Indian Restaurant. Food is above average, little pricey for the food you get. They have function or conference hall which can accommodate approximately about 60 people.

Only in words. The old guy never gives respect to Indians. Sometimes he will offer low-cost buffets noting on there he just putting an ad after he will reply as smart answers buffets got over in 30mins then ask us to order separate.

This is my go to vegetarian restaurant in Columbus. It is also vegan friendly as they have marked vegan/vegan option dishes in the menu.I love their spicy andhra style masala dosa. The andhra spice chutney in this dosa has a controlled level of spiciness with a touch of tanginess. The sambhar is a bit too watery to my likeness but nonetheless tastes good.Apart from the dosa that I eat most of time, I also like their lunch buffet. Have only had the buffet during the COVID times so the buffet menu is limited but not too short to not to be called a buffet. Also, due to the COVID restrictions you cant serve your food yourself. Rather they serve you at the table like in a thali system. This is great for containing the virus but kinda downgrades the buffet experience as it could get awkward asking the waiter multiple times to serve you your most liked appetizer.The buffet food tastes great and maintains the same great taste that you expect when you order as A La Carte.Another thing I loved about this restaurant is its friendliness to vegan people. Not just they mention vegan options in their regular menu, they also keep enough vegan options in their buffet so as even vegan people can call it a buffet.Lastly, the staff and the owner are super friendly. I have met the owner quite a few times and have found him caring. Once I was traveling to Michigan late night, on knowing that he offered me a free cup of chai and a box of saunf (mouth refreshment) to keep me awake. It was very kind and sweet of him.I highly recommend this restaurant to all vegetarian and vegan folks who wants to eat delicious Indian food served by a friendly staff.
POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!They said the order would be ready in 30 minutes for pickup, but instead it took them 1 hour 15 minutes to get the order to us. They did not even acknowledge their delay. Literally made us wait for additional 45 minutes saying its almost ready and they were not even sorry about it. We were trying to cancel it but the lady at the reception kept ignoring and we had already paid for it.
This restaurant serves some of the finest Indian food that one could want. The flavors are radiant and fresh. Personally, the best Indian cuisine that I have had. The gentleman that I presume to be the owner, was very kind and made my companion and myself feel beyond welcome. I asked for his suggestion and in no way was I remotely at odds with the flavourful dish of Kadhai Paneer after enjoying their perfect samosas.The fresh made paan was a perfect finish to a spectacular, homemade dinner. Lastly, I intended to try a salty lassi but couldnt help myself from changing my mind and having the mango lassi and Im happy with that choice. I will definitely return to this wonderful restaurant as long as it is open.Its a shame because from the sound of it, they might not be around much longer due to the current pandemic situation. Thats really sad. If you are thinking about eating here, please do it. You will hopefully experience the same loving and peaceful atmosphere that I did.
We go for their buffet. Staff is very helpful in suggesting how to eat/combine the dishes. They were also wonderful about asking if we were vegan and bought us vegan versions of breads that were not vegan on the buffet. (All but one entree were vegan.) Vegan and gluten free were clearly marked on most items. Food was delicious and ranged from mild to medium spicy.

The buffet was fantastic! The appetizers were delicious! The people super gracious and friendly! With vegan and gluten free options, this restaurant offers terrific food for people who may not be able to eat out many places. I loved it very much and I will return and do recommend enthusiastically!
Good veg. Place to visit.Last dine-in didn’t meet our expectations considering previous visits.They served a thali when ordering buffet due to covid(we understand that restriction), but for more price and less/different dishes than actual buffet and no chats. Taste was fine but disappointed with dishes and desert selection.We went to celebrate something but had to compromise with cabbage, soy, mix lentil, lemon rice and halwa for desert to name a few items. There were other items such as idli, dosa, paneer, bhajji.Ask for dish name in thali when you go.
Recently ordered this for takeout and was really looking forward to the meal but was very disappointed with what was received. First off I feel the charges and fees for takeout are a bit too high. Got hit with a $6.49 + $1.31 service fee. This would have been acceptable if the the food was at least palatable with it was not. I had to throw all of the food away. Probably the worst Indian food I have ever had. Definitely would not recommend this place!
I ordered online for carryout and it said it could take up to 30 minutes. I waited 30 minutes before arriving and still had to wait an additional 15 minutes. I get that food like this can take a little longer to make and thats ok, I understand. However, I ordered the same thing I would order at Taj Palace in Hilliard and Id have to say their recipe is much better than this place and it only takes them 20 minutes. The malai kofta was spicier. The koftas were falling apart easily and they only gave me like 2 koftas. Also, wrapping the styrofoam container in plastic to keep it warm on your trip home seems like a fantastic idea but not with cauliflower pakora. By the time I got home it was kind of soggy.
This was my first time trying Indian food, and it could not have been a better experience. The entire staff took the time to explain each dish, and every bite was amazing. I will be back on a very regular basis.
Very friendly and inviting as well as authentic Indian cuisine
This was one of the most underwhelming food experiences of my little krill life. We krill are simple creatures that roam the vast oceans in numbers...only to be eaten by a whale, so I was looking forward to escape this harsh reality by ordering some delicious takeout only to be left in sheer utter disappointment. It has been a perilous journey thus far in my krill life, but this one takes the cake. Will tell my millions of krill buddies not to eat here.
We went to Gokul Cafe for the first time for dinner last night. The quality, presentation, and flavor of the food were excellent. The dosa was not greasy, the idli was perfect, the sambar and the Aalu Tikki Chaat were very tasty. This is a wonderful discovery of vegetarian Indian food in town. I plan to eat many more meals there, recommend it to friends, and order take-out from Gokul frequently.

Gokul cafe is phenomenal under the new management (the former owner of Banana Leaf). So many delicious, vegan options in both the lunch and dinner buffets. The lunch buffet didn’t have vegan bread or dessert so the host/server brought us both (free of charge) right to our table. Highly recommend.
Uggghh.. The one time I was here, the dosa was very average and to make things worse, I had to wait 10+ mins for a chutney refill. Nobody wants to eat a shriveled dosa thats been sitting on a plate for 15 mins! It was quite crowded but for a refill? Nope.
My partner and I made a special trip up to Columbus from Cincinnati just to eat here. We were fans of Banana Leaf and when we heard Gokul Cafe was from the same family, we had to check it out. The buffet was very tasty with plenty of vegan options. They even asked our dietary preferences so that they could ensure we had a great experience. We will absolutely be back up soon for seconds!

Best Indian food experience for me. In town for 24 hours, ordered off the menu for dinner, had to come back the next day to try the buffet. The flavors were amazing and I was treated like family!

This is a place to visit again. Great service and food is delicious. Food items at buffet were marked Vegan or Gluten Free and the staff was willing to get you a Vegan item like bread or dessert in case they happened to be non-vegan at the buffet, just ask the staff what you want. Besides the staff constantly check with you at the table.
Excellent service, very nice people. My first time trying Indian cuisine and I didn’t like my first choice and they made me a second dish free of charge and it was excellent!! Not that the first dish was bad, it just wasn’t to my liking. But I loved the experience, thank you!
