One of the biggest bus station in India. So obviously always filled with lots of people. It has lots restrooms yet cant match with the number of people using it. So the so called hygienic people cant even go inside the restrooms. More than half of the people in Chennai are from outside the city. Yet there isnt much public restrooms in the city even though it is one of the basic needs of metropolitan. Since the bus station has some, its the only option for outside people, making it overuse. No one cares for this because it seems that they are busy in choosing the name for the bus station. I prefer that to be Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus other wise known as CMBT. No need to name it after corrupt politicians...

It also has a metro station inside since 2015, which connects you to airport and wimco station on the northern corridor respectively. The CMBT bus stand is the largest busstand in Asia when it was built. It provides inter state connectivity and connection to other cities within the state. It has a local MTC bus platform at the front that provides bus services within the city limits. Maintenance is very poor and it is not clean nowadays.

We can book bus through TNSTC in which sleeper, AC and semi sleeper bus are available cheaper than private. We can directly go and book for AC or sleeper buses. Buses take off in time. Only problem is that the during peak time like around 6pm to 9pm traffic jams will be there. And lastly, toilets, its dirty and uncleaned.
