My visit was when Chub Central Metro Station was being built, today when the metro station has become operational then it has traveled.

Excellent place for commute. Excellent to short traveling. Excellent to sit and accommodate.

You can go from chennai Central to ashok nagar for 50 rupees and faster one seriously cant complain about the metro it has heavenly cheap rates

Very well organized. Right from ticket counter to boarding its very well organized and neat. Its a two minute walk from the Chennai Central Railway Station and connects to airport as well. This is the best mode of transportation to airport from railway station. For one person the ticket for this distance is less than 100 rupees and the travel time is less than half an hour. Theyll keep announcing the train status and you will also have staff around to help you out in case you are confused.

Superb one...very well maintained has lifts escalators in all floors and people are there to guide you also.. connects to subway which u can reach central railway station easily...they have many lifts and some are under construction ... overall a very good one..

Metro starts from within same compound as that of MGR Chennai central station and chennai suburban station.Being at this station atleast once quarterly and so far in last few years i havent struggled to get a ticket or cab. I mostly prefer online cabs and from their attitude i think the cab drivers here are so polite and helpful.In photoes added along with this feedback i also had added beauty of suburban and central station as seen From metro entrance

Very well built Metro Station. Nice safety feature where the tracks are concealed behind glass doors and only open when the train arrives. Looks very modern this metro station, very spacious gives you a grand feel. Probably the best metro station in India.

One of the major station of Chennai Metro that is central Metro it is very near to Chennai Central Railway Station and Chennai Park Suburban station very good in neatness the staff members are so polite and so good very helping the places family friendly children friendly also the person having physically handicapped they can also friendly to move and to board all the trains

Accord to appearance they did really well😍 it also exist nearby of Chennai Central Rlwy station & sub urban terminal 😃 everyone loves this, it is very useful for students & employees. So try to prefer this for avoidance of traffic, suggest ur personnels also about this

This was inaugurated on 25 May 2018. We visited it on the very next day and had wonderful experience. Very clean metro station and near to the Chennai Railway station.

Central Metro holds the record of largest metro station in India. It has 6 entries. Station stretch is from Govt Hospital to Rippon building.There are multiple layers under the street, starts as Suburban railway subway, Metro railway concourse level, platform1,2,3&4 for corridor 2, platform 5,6,7,8 for corridor 1.The tunnel goes under Coovam river.Apart from this future plan for Central Square Mall.

The biggest plus point is that metro train, electric train and bus services are next to each other. If only they reduce the fare, many people will be benefited from this metro. With such price, metro can be used only at peak times since buses get stuck in traffic. Else I will use bus for other times.Station looks modern and clean by the way, some interior work has to be finished.

New metro rail in Chennai started with good facilities and services. Large areas....The services operate daily between 06:00 and 22:00 with a varying frequency of 10 to 20 minutes. Specially i love outsides scenes from airport metro. Actually chennai metro is started few years ago so still it is under constructions. Currently chennai metro providing good service and facilities to passengers. They also accept cash, card as well as paytm for tickets.Currently less people are travelling. So recently first time when I was traveling, I was alone in one coach. I enjoyed the service as provided by the chennai metro.Construction began in June 2009 and the first stretch, covering seven stations from Koyambedu to Alandur over a distance of 10 kilometres (6.2 mi), began operation on 29 June 2015. As of May 2018, Chennai Centralto St. Thomas Mount on the Green line and AG-DMS to Chennai International Airport on Blue line are commercially operational which brings the total operational network over 35 km (22 mi).The minimum fare is ₹ 10 and the maximum fare is ₹ 70. The first car in each train will be first class with tickets costing twice as much as the second class tickets.m

This station is not much crowded but available with all modern facilities & I love the cleanliness they maintain here.

Now oly they are developing the services. As I have used delhi metro. Chennai metro needs to improve in passengers indications.Apart from that friendly and helpful executives and workers .Metro and stations are always kept clean.

Clean and nice mostly like Dubai metros, however the technology is below par, card readers get stuck, QR code doesnt scan (which increased my waiting time rather than reducing), people roaming mask less. I would urge the authorities to keep a vigilant look about.

Ticketing took me 15 minutes. No signage for commuters no information about where and how to board the metro, what stations are covered. No information booklet is available like one finds in Delhi! Highly disappointing. The fares are very high its meant for deterring people from commuting!

Chennai central metro station is currently the largest metro station in Asia .The station is an underground, two-level station on Poonamallee High Road in front of the Chennai Central railway station and the Ripon Building. The station is one of the two metro stations where Corridor I (Airport–Washermanpet) of the project will intersect with Corridor II (Chennai Central–St Thomas Mount via Egmore and CMBT), the other being the Alandur metro station. The metro station, being constructed at a depth of 25 m, will be the largest of all metro stations in the city with an area of over 70,000 sq m. The three-level metro station will cover a length of 410 metres and will have a width of 35 metres.Unlike the other metro stations which have four entry points, the Chennai Central station will have six entry/exit points for access to Park suburban and Park Town MRTS stations, Ripon Building, Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital, and the Chennai Central railway station. The station will act as a transit point for passengers from the Chennai Central, Park Town, and Park railway stations. It is estimated that more than 100,000 commuters will use the station daily.The station is one of the few in the corridor that will have parking facilities. Space will be allocated for parking in a basement area for about 500 cars and 1,000 two-wheelers. There are also plans to have the airport check-in facility in one of the basement levels at the station, which will allow air passengers to complete the check-in procedures at the station itself.[8] A bus bay has also been planned opposite the station.The station is one of the three stations in the Chennai Metro Rail network that will have 230-kV receiving sub-stations for power supply from the states electricity grid. The other two are Koyambedu and Alandur.The station was opened on 25th May 2018.LandscapeThe Chennai Corporation has plans to develop a park over the Chennai Central Metro station. Chennai Metro Rail Limited has agreed to a proposal by the Chennai Corporation of extending the Ripon Buildings Park over the Chennai Central underground metro station. Waterproof structures will be created over the station to facilitate the creation of the park. A portion of the park, which will cover more than six acres of the premises of Ripon Buildings and Victoria Public Hall, will be developed on a waterproof concrete slab area, measuring 210 metres by 10 metres. Visitors to the Ripon Buildings Park, Amma Maaligai and Victoria Public Hall will have access to the Central metro station through some of its seven entry points.

Nice metro station, train frequency is good, has access to 2 routes from here.There is no need to walk so long for accessing both routes, it is just floors which is very easy for passengers to switch routes.Ticket counter is bit loaded most of the times, but smart card machines and smart card option saves you money and time.Further validity of smart card is 5 years, which is useful for people occasionally visit Chennai and is transferable.

Most peaceful place & two floors are under ground , system are good & beautiful place , lift and accelerator also available. Metro train running with maintaining time and gathering is there . I think central metro station is awesome and beutiful. You can easily enjoy metro train traveling from one place to another. No gathering no queue for tickets and seat

Its very neat with comfortable traveling. User-friendly machine to take tickets (Tamil language is also available). The workers or staffs are very polite you can ask them any help that you needed they will definitely help you. Thirsty then grab a drink from the vending machine 😋😋

Its new Metro station located very near to Chennai Central station. Neatly maintained except toilets. Can be done better. Service provider is very polite and guiding. Fearless place. Useful guidance on time. Lots of space for marketing and advertising. Crowd is increasing.

Having had a chance to travel in Bangalore and Delhi metros the one in Chennai is new and hence it is pristine. The Metro station must be in world class standards as the look and feel makes one to think like that. Visitors & tourists must give it a try and see for oneself. Staff are really very helpful in assisting. Gives a new and trilled experience for localities while we travel in Chennai Metro.

Best way to travel in Chennai. Central to saidapet in 30 mins is not possible by any other means of transport. Also very clean and well maintained. Phase 1 and 2 almost completed. 3 and 4 will completely cover Chennai but may take few years.

Excellent infrastructure with all basic and modern facilities inside.One of the biggest underground metro stations in India.2 floors are available underground itself out of which 1 has been already opened.Neat maintenance inside the railway station.Price ranges from ₹10 till ₹70 for a single one-way ride to the nearest and farthest metro station. (i.e till Nehru Park and till Chennai International airport from Chennai Central Metro station)Overall experience was excellent.

Simply awesome. It seems to be an airport with excellent maintenance. Trains are very regular. There is not so much crowd in the trains. Ticket rates are very high that you can better afford a ola taxi instead of taking metro train. But the quickness of the journey plays a great part. Connects almost all the parts of the city which are not connected by the suburban transit. Very useful to people with regular travel in flights since it connects airport with central
