My Aunt admitted here as a last option from a specialist private hospital after spending thousands of rupees. She felt much better atmosphere here and getting cured now with free service.Right from parking well managed by securities with token system. Outside and inside the hospital it’s clean like in Appollo hospitals. Staff’s, Nurse’s and Doctor’s well equipped and knowledgeable. Already i was report 2 weeks before about treatment by Sr. Staff nurses from General and Hematology dept. They are simply sitting and not caring about patients. In every day minimum one patient has died. no one take action about this like treatment.Finally i lost my father in law on September 13th, 2021. He was got allergy when Platelet transfusion on Sunday afternoon. Then up to Monday morning 10.15 he was died. Sisters are not called doctor from early morning by 3.30 am onwards when he was sick series.

This hospital is one of the oldest hospital in India. Almost all speciality services available here. It is also one of the largest hospital in Asian continent. Nearby two local railway stations available. This was at the opposite to puratchi Thalaivar Dr MGR Central railway junction Chennai and Chennai metro railway station. Bus stand and auto stand available 24 hours. It was certified as best hospital during covid care by central government of India.

While many areas are arranged and proper, 205 X ray area is highly unorganised.No waiting area where people come for X ray with pain. No proper first in first out followed. Some internal attenders influence the queue.

My father is admitted in Rajiv Gandhi Government hospital since 9th of June. He was 1st admitted in private hospital at Perumbakkam and shifted over there. Though we have spent huge amount he was on critical condition in private hospital. From the time he had been there to Rajiv Gandhi hospital, the treatment is very good and doctors, nurses are coming for regular check up of the patients and they are very polite towards the patients. Required oxygen is provided to all patients and also immense oxygen is available.Thanks to the Government, doctors, nurses and all the medical staff for the great work.

I came to this hospital for kidney problem for my dad. We should carry a note for the records and procedure to see a doctor is very complex. The assistant is said your name will be called, so please go out. But they will call our names only once, if they didnt turn up they go for another. The behaviour of some doctors is very bad. For doctors, their duty hours is 10.30 to 13.00 i.e merely 2 and half hour. There are lot of people waiting in the line to see the doctor. But some doctors will be call in duty hours and even some doctors will be use their phone if assistant didnt distribut the note. They simply sit idle until they get the note. They dont even ask for the note.

Worst behaviour from all senior nurses. Not working simply sitting in chair. Housekeeping workers only doing all these thinks like Celine injection and changes also.handling blood transfusion also. Animals working in hospital for care human being.

Rajiv Gandhi Government medical College and hospital one of the best medical college in Tamilnadu

Its a big hospital they providing good treatment but the problem is they takeing long days for treatment. We just go for my mother stent replacing in kidney. Its a 15 to 20 minutes process in private clinics but in this hospital we nearly spent 4 weeks ( 3 weeks for scanes & blood test ) 1 week for stent replacing admissions Its very worst days. Not even proper restroom for gents. And inside canteens and serving worst foods. price also high. And Inside shops we buy any small things like ( ex : Biscuits or chips packets ) they selling extra 5 rupees from MRP rate. If you want 20 rupees biscuit packet we must pay 25 rupees. Why the hospital management didnt take any action 🤷‍♂️ because of corruption. I will not recommended this hospital think twice before going there. They providing good treatment only but it takes too long.

The college that is training young doctors for 186 years.. the hospital that gave the world its first female doctor is a place of sanctuary for patients who are terminally ill , patients who have no one to take care of ..where every other hospital refers a terminally ill patient , rggh takes them with a welcoming hand.. a patient passes away in a tertiary care hospital , not because of misdiagnosis or poor standard of care , but because of the terminal nature of the illnesses and the comorbidities the patient already has.. there might be logistical issues in a huge hospital like this , but no doctor or nurse is heartless to rejoice at a patients suffering

A multi-specialty hospital which offers almost all treatment facility. There are ample number of beds for each department. Also there is a lift facility to go upper floors. However you will see lots of people lying in the corridor everytime. This can be the normal scenerio due to the size of hospital with government facilities but still it can be leveraged by making a waiting hall in each floor where people can sit and have there lunch and can pass some free times.

Worst rule in ward that docs and nurse can wear chapel inside but patient must not... Some doctors has worst behavior like angry face and irresponsible, no sincere at work...

Very good and reliable treatment is offered. Doctor were very friendly and had superb knowledge in their specialisation. Even supporting staffs were also expert in their job, they did self less service.

My fathers was admitted in corona ward,ward 49 5th floor.One of the most uncivilized junior doctors We will be able to see here who treat patients attenders like slaves where we need to keep waiting for these juniors divya darshan to come and treat patients and they keep saying we cannot assure anything again and again in front of the patient itself where they put the patient into death fear and indirectly they were the main reason for my fathers death, every patient the treatment remains same,they check 02 level twice a day and first 3 days injection,then irrespective of improvements they will move to tablets,if there is any breathing issue they will immediately inject antiviral drug a d say lets hope for the best,if we go agin and say there seems to no improvement post injection they will ask us what u want us to do we have done everything he is in critical state not even a small courtesy to come and check.night shift doctors were far better and caring.pls save loved ones from this place dont get them admitted here🙏🙏

I graduated from rgggh.One of the best institution in the country, associated with the great MADRAS MEDICAL COLLEGE(MY Alma Mater).a hospital with all specialities.Main referral centre in south India.dont get fooled by the contract workers,by giving bribe.once this place remained spacious,now due to increasing new buildings for each department, getting congested.Battery cars are being operated for different abled & elderly.be patient while searching for op block,as each department is situated in different places.dont hesitate to get help from volunteers in orange dresses.amma master health check up available ₹2000.

This hospital is a boom for the common people of Chennai and Tamil Nadu..when my father met an accident and none of the private hospitals ready to admit..the driver told home to GH and they saved my fathers life..40 days in ICU..he survived..after that its been 12 years..he is still taking treatment..he had 6operations..the medical staffs are very good and experienced..the head of Neuro with the long hair saved my fathers life..the treatment was good for patients in critical care..and yes we have to spend some money to the helpers and contract people to make things faster..I was frustrated when the my ask for money..and later came to know that they dont get any salary from the govt..so they collect money to survive..but its a big problem for the poor people...after staying in the hospital for a long time..I made friendship with the helpers and the amount of money which we used to give reduced.. except that issue..the hospital is very good...it doesnt matter wheather the trainee doctors or experienced doctors..all treat the patients with utmost care and respect.

It is really not a hospital. Every workers are asking for minimum 100rupees for the work they have to be done. and i didnt see any senior doctors. Only students are practicing with the patients. If you get admitted in emergency also no treatment will be given to you , you will be simply lying on a govt hospital bed for days. I went with my father and discharged within 4 hours not liking the service. I spend 0 for hospital but the workers got more than 500 from me. I WILL NEVER GO TO THIS HOSPITAL AGAIN .

This is my personal genuine experience of the Ortho Department: I had a very bad ligament tear and needed immediate treatment and for the first time I gathered all my guts and went to the Government Hospital. What I found there was quite interesting, I found experienced doctors and very helpful medical students who treated my condition with utmost care and dedication. I was asked to come for 7 days continuous treatment and each day I was given amazing care. Finally they treated me of my full condition and I was sent back with a fully healed leg.I am sure there are many bad experiences for people with staff demanding money from patients, but there are still amazing doctors and staff who are very genuine and helpful in the hospital and I totally recommend their service which is much better than a private hospital.

Great service there is lot of improvement on patients care, my brother in critical care, the doctors are God in GH doing good service, private hospitals are ripoff and thieves, this my experience, please people dont follow the mith of gh. I took my brother to three private hospitals and they are money minded, very stressfull, now my brother in gh recovering well, Thanks to Tamil Nadu Government doing such wonderful job.

GH Hospital in central the doctors and treatment is very good but the nurses,hk ladies and security was very rude to the patient and attender treating like slaves or dog. For each and every services money is must for hk and security.My mom was admitted in ICU but the doctors are not able to tell us the details about the patient situation and to identify itself itself taking 24hours in the meanwhile patient may become serious also and pls the nurses has to be polite and calm to the ICU patients which is not happening even if the patient recovered in 2days but they want them to stay more days just to show of they are very busy.until another emergency patient admission comes the patients has to stay and once they receive new admission then they will inform the current patient that there report are n normal can move to normal ward is this the way ICMU patients will be treated?Very bad service.will never come to this GH Hospital

Good product with WORST CORRUPTION service. They ask minimum ₹20 - maximum ₹500. I have lot of experience with my daddy (heart patient) in 70days.You cant take a wheelchair , because some staff(house keeping) keep that and ask minimum ₹50.Finally i lost my dad and spend ₹20 for scan, ₹300 for cleaning lady , ₹50 for security,₹200 for martuary man, ₹100 for ambulance.லஞ்சம் கொடுத்தால் உங்களுக்கு இலவசசேவை கிடைக்கும்.

Very Worst treatment given to Patients. They dont even clear a Dead body for 1Hr , which was in a Emergency Ward ICU.. Doctors here behave rudely to Attenders and even to Patients also. The treatment is slow like a Tortoise. Nurses dont monitor the Equipments properly. They dont even have the Knowledge of patients in emergency situation. Only you should carry the Blood samples for Testing and getting result. At last no cleanliness provided here . They use the same Ventilator mask from dead patient to another patient without proper cleaning Which is very Shocking . And no ample resting chairs for patient Attenders. We have to Sit down atverandas. No Stretchers and Wheelchairs available for emergency patients . Very worst hospital maintained by Government.

Worst experience at its peak. never ever go for this hospital , no matter youre poor or middle classed person. Ive been admitted for hyperbilirubinemia on 14/10/19 and didnt get any treatment for 3 days still. No medications have been given for the condition still and the staffs and doctors have been lying that theyve been waiting for the test results to move further. They are giving training to the medical students with our beloved one whos is admitted in emergency ward..
