Walked in because of a 30% discount on Dineout. When the bill came to us, we were asked not to use Dineout and were denied our discount. Average food, very poor management and service. Never going back.

The ambience and service provided by people at Kommune make it a great for you to hangout a good drink with friends. The menu has good range of food. Few items have more quantity when compared to other items which I found as a disadvantage. The bar service provided by the place is top notch.

Great food and good ambience! Definitely a must go place with friends. Me and my friends were there on the eve of ICC world cup and enjoyed the match with the delicious food and drinks. Very nice customer service. All the staff were very courteous and welcoming from the start till end. A must go place for foodies.

Kommune, is one of the best in Chennai. This is a social cafe with bar that has a unique theme. The main concept of this place is that, it establishes a connection between 2 groups. That is, the tables are arranged in such a way that people can easily interact with each other. The ambience and design of this place is top notch. A totally new concept in Chennai, that will surely become a hit soon. A bar will be opened soon. The food, including the drinks are on another level. Truly an amazing experience. The best part is, the management including the serving staff are sooo friendly that you get to have your privacy but with a little interaction with people around you.

Food here is a hit and miss:- Veg Thai curry - 5/5- Egg fried rice - 4/5- Crisp Tofu - 4/5- Lemongrass Chicken tikka - 3/5- Naga Chili Pork - 2/5- Avacado fries - 2/5Do NOT sit on the first floor if you can help it - its melting hot, service staff are scarce and distracted, only those sitting on stools stuck to the handrails can watch whatever forgettable nonsense is being projected on wall below as everyone else on this floor will be automatically blocked out (interior design really??), seating is mighty uncomfortable with school like bench seats that offer no back support or tall barstool type chairs that look quite fragile.The limited variety booze is expensive, cocktails taste strictly ok ok.Service is uniformly polite and just about adequate, not warm, not personable, not great, definitely not wow. Music is from the previous century - George Michael, Bob Marley, Backstreet Boys (boing!!!). Come here once, and see if youre pulled back for a repeat. Im not :(

On a Saturday night out with friends, we visited this place. The restobar has two floors and a rooftop bar which didn’t look very appealing. The restobar has unique seating arrangement and lighting which made the ambience great.We ordered the avocado fries, honey chilli mushroom and a couple of non-vegetarian starters. The fries were well made with great sides. The chilli mushroom was light and crispy.Service was prompt and our experience was great until they ushered everyone out at 10PM which is something we have to live with in current times. Overall a nice hangout spot located in T.nagar which is fast becoming home to a lot of nice places. Maybe the management should reconsider the 10% service charge.

The place looks very clean and modern with a very edgy design! They believe in breaking barriers and bringing people closer! This is why you would find the seats to be so close to one another. Something quiet interesting about this arrangement would be how the cutlery is placed - right below your table, for easy access.Coming to food, I loved the Avocado Fries the best! It is indeed a great twist to the classic recipe. It was served warm and felt very fresh and crisp. It tasted delicious with the Tartar Dip that came along! Obviously nothing can go wrong with avocados. Sadly, these fries leave behind a bad after taste! So sip on some beer and move on!The Peppery Prawns also screamed some brilliant flavours in the mouth but the prawns seemed to be a bit overcooked! Perfect level of spices though!The Kafir and Lemongrass Chicken Tikka was pretty flavoursome. I absolutely loved this one. Tasted delicious with the Mint Chutney! A classic combo and a personal favourite.For the Main Course, we opted for Shrimp Khow Suey, a scrumptious Burmese delicacy. I was impressed by what came in. But, I like my noodles, curry and other condiments served separately! Nevertheless, the shrimp was well cooked and delicious. The lemongrass flavour was a bit overpowering though!The Karambu drink was like a mix of emotions for my tastebuds. It was so soothing for the heat though. It is a blend of sugarcane juice, ginger, lime and coriander. Quite interesting actually! This was something very different and would be an acquired tasted for many!For dessert, we chose Chocolate Decadence. This was mind-blowing. I was high on chocolate rather than alcohol! It was a super dense with a rich layer of mousse over a spongy cake base. I loved this one to bits. However, I felt the thickness of the cake layer could be increased to compliment the flavour of the mousse.Overall, it was a great experience! Amazing service by Mohit and team.

@kommunelife opened their doors recently in Tnagar, Chennai. A nicely designed Resto/Lounge Bar, Kommune strives to focus on conversations, a community like feeling with a close seating arrangement with elevated positions. The food offered is extensive and not jus limited to finger foods like other lounge bars.For starters I had their Avocado and Baby Corn fry, main course included Garlic Naan with Daal Makhani, Rice with Thai Veg Curry and for Desserts it was a mini dome of Chocolate Decadence. The avocado was a refreshing change to the Paneers, Alu & Gobi fry we generally seem to get for Starters.The best thing about Kommune is that they dont have any formal dress codes for Weekend nights, allows stags as well without any restrictions.

Seating for a group is thoughtfully designed, providing required privacy for conversations. The seats could do with better back support (for long sessions).Food is excellent. We ordered paneer dishes, fries, chicken for starters. Our main course included Thai rice & curry, which well prepared. Surprisingly, they accommodate curd rice types of orders too, which tasted awesome 😃.We ordered standard drinks, but liked the suggestions of our steward for the mixing accompanying beverage 👍.Overall, a good experience.

Kommune is a nice casual place to hangout either after work or a very casual meet up time with friends! They have a decent vegetarian menu as well apart from lot of options for meat eaters! I expect more options for the vegetarians though!

Menus can be better with lot more appetizers/snacks. Especially, a place serving beers, people tend to eat more starters and there are very few options available. Rest, an amazing place for chilled evenings.

Located bang on g.n.chetty road opposite to Accord and next to jcs jewels this new watering hole is just beginning to sprout. Their menu is extensive and we are told that it will be available from couple of weeks down the road. A different type of seating from other places, its food menu though is good . Fried avocados and kafiir chicken were recommended and were really good. Hoping to see more of the menu items available in future.

Kommune is a good resto-pub located very centrally on GN Chetty Road in T.Nagar. The up and down (steps) landscape is not great inside especially when people are intoxicated. The food and drinks are relatively cheap compared to other similar places in the city.Music/DeeJay and ambience is quite good. They have good offers running for the ipl as well. Parking is also quite easy to find if not using the valet.

Had very high expectations from this place, it was very disappointing in the end. We had quite a few appetizers and everything was okay. The drinks were okay except for the mule. The worst part of the entire experience was the service. Everything took a really long time to come and especially the peri-peri fries which took them about 50 mins to get and it didnt taste like peri-peri at all. The place seems really big in photos but it was way smaller with very weird and uncomfortable seating arrangement.

Interiors at its finest, simple yet well curated menu, courteous staff and excellent music. Honestly felt like being back in Bangalore.

The place is designed such that seating is split into multiple steps / levels. Can be tricky to navigate through these steps on the floor during crowded times, one must watch out or they can stumble and fall quite easily. The staff are prompt and courteous.

The place is chill. Great place to watch match. They have this huge live screening. Ambience is pretty with the lights on. Service 10/10 The food couldve been better.Tomato soup was good. Im not an avocado fan so I didnt really like the avocado fries. Paneer pineapple starters were good too. We also tried Roti with dal which was nice. For desert we had chocolate pastry which was normal taste-wise.

I went with my international friends from Japan, Australia, France, Korea and Morocco. We were charged triple the amount and alcohol menu used for invoicing was different from the one shown to you. They were so shocked to see how they were being cheated in India. Please be careful check and recheck before you pay.

5 stars to ambience, hospitality and food

The service was very good. The staff were excellent. But the problem was that the food menu was lacking options and there was almost no options for the non alcoholics in the group. I agree that most of the ppl who go to kommune would do so for the alcoholic beverages but there would be one or two people when you go in a large group who would not prefer to drink on that day and the menu should be friendly to such people also. The portion size was okay but the taste was good. In the end the experience was enjoyable, all thanks to their amazing staff.

A very good place to hangout with ur close ones. Good food & ambience and they also have a live band performing on selected days of the week. Overall pretty good.

Food is decent but the service was really poor. The waiter forgot our orders multiple times and we were in the hotel for 3 hours. Finally we left with 3 of our orders completely forgotten.

Yesterday we went to kommune , and the ambience was not good and the music was too loud. we have to shout even of we have to talk with the person beside me. live music will be better , rather than the loud music. And coming to billing they have added many extra items to bill, which we havent ordered. We have the sent the bill three times back for changes and then we recieved the exact bill. This kind of behaviour is unexpected from your end.

Being a sports bar its important they purchase all channels and play matches like the Ashes which was not being played because they didnt have the sports pack.The interiors of the place is classy for a sports bar. However the management is not friendly besides 2-3 of the stewards.We requested for a certain type of table but were told it was reserved for other guests. Throughout the night no one took them and it was really sad to see that they didnt give us those tables either.The music also was quite average.Food was good.When you enter the place you feel youre gonna have a good night ahead. But by the end of it youre quite disappointed to come here. Hopefully they improve on these facades to overall improve their customer experience.

The place has great vibes- it’s a compact one but not claustrophobic- their food is delicious and the presentation is very earnest. The passion for their craft is evident- try the vegan raw mango salad, a spin on somtum, the tandoor( malai-optional) broccoli and the cilantro baby corn were so delicious oozing with flavours and some magical beet root purée embellishing it!!! For non veg lovers the basil- green prawns and mutton pepper fry , both were nice! Thai dishes that we had were little too indianised- the service was very friendly and they listen to your ideas and preferences in making the cocktails- which was real and sincere !!Would love to go back and explore moreBut you do need a deep wallet- the place is definitely not cheap!!Lovely though to spend time with your friends and enjoy some fine dining!

Awful seating arrangement (literally zero leg room), ok food and very less variety in liquor.

The ambience is great. There will be a love DJ with video songs. Drinks are not bad but can have more variety. Some appetizers were awesome. Try the Naga Pork. Wont be as spicy as they say in the menu, but guaranteed to be great.
