Hoppipola is THE place to go for a good hang out session with your friends. The happy hours will not empty your pockets and the drinks and food variety is absolutely amazing. You get this totally chill vibe once you enter and it’s sure to leave you awestruck. I would definitely recommend catching up with your friends here.

This place is pretty chill. It lacks crowd and its kind of crampy but still, its chill. Apart form the usual bar overpricing, this place lacked variety when I was visiting. But still, if you are going with a group of friends, this place would suit you well. Theres a DJ as well so the music never stops, which personally I like.

The restaurant and bar is located in the basement making it quite a dark place. There isnt proper lighting in the restaurant. The washroom is horrible. The service was very slow. We had ordered 2 dishes and waited more than 40 minutes for the second dish to arrive. The quantity of food is generous and worth paying. However, the overall experience was not satisfactory.

A good place to hangout in Chennai. We didnt wear shoes when we visited, but the bouncer had the courtesy to let us in. The music and ambience is decent. We ordered some chicken and baby corn which was delicious. The 99₹ menu is amazing. It has a good amount of variety. They say its 99₹ menu but there will be +29, +69 in many items plus service tax. Overall a very good experience and the price is also reasonable.

Amazing place to go with you friends

Personally felt like the ambience seemed a bit off putting, especially the way it was lit. The place seemed more like a dimly lit Cafe than a resto bar. Food was sub par, we ordered the grilled sausages and chilli cheese fries, the fries were relatively good. Drinks are reasonably priced but after two drinks we ended up leaving elsewhere.

It is ideal to hangout with friends or groups. Not to forget the board games and the huge Jenga they had, that had to be given credit for. The place had both gender crowds, women can comfortably go here without undergoing any uncomfortable situation. They had disco lights, which was a added point to the ambience. The music was a bit too loud, it was made sure there was no conversations happening in the place!

If youre going in the noon time, make sure youve got plenty of time on your hands because they are gonna take a long time to serve you food. Dont know if it was just my order that took so long, we waited for more than an hour before we were served our pizza and sizzler. I would also add that the sizzler needs to worked on, honestly speaking, theyve got the wrong recipe for a sizzler. The pizza was the only thing that Im giving the three stars for. Everything else was below satisfactory.

One of the few places in Chennai with good ambience were Stags are allowed. Do the miss to the regular drinks and try out the cocktails.

Having been to the Hoppipola - Churchstreet, Bangalore, this place seemed to be a downer as the place seemed quite cramped up in a basement. The food was ok and the ambience was meh. They kept changing the music genres and I didnt like that part one bit. The service was not that great as the menu and the bill had some uncertainties and when I brought it up they couldnt help me. Anyways it could have been a one time miss. Try this and find out for yourself if they have improved upon their service.

Its a nice place to visit with friends. The food is decent, though the drinks menu is a boy limited. However, they are very reasonably priced, making it a good place if youre not in a mood to spend too much. They also gave happy hours for further discounts. Their mocktails are also good. They also have some board games which you can pick up and play. Overall, lively ambience.

The Place is dead. I went there on a Friday Night and only a couple of tables were occupied that was the overall mood till I left the place around 11. Although the food and drinks were nice but the overall ambience killed the night.

Hoppipola has lost its sheen from what it was a few years ago. It is no longer as upbeat, the food is average, the beer is usually warm, and the ambiance though bright and cheery, reminds you of a cheap shack rather than a supposedly upmarket pub.The staff could do with better training as well.

Nice place to hangout. Happy hours are there. Fridays are the most crowded days. Dress code is sleeved shirt or t shirt, full length trouser with shoes. Bouncers are there. Cannot smoke inside, have to go out and do it or u will get soaked in water. Service is good. Varieties are many like bulb, blood pipe etc. Happy hour ends before 8pm. DJ is also good. At 12AM they close it.

Has the right location, and wrong marketing. Even if it is empty, you need to make it presentable. It is like nobody inside has any motivation for anything if the crowd is less.

It is located underground below a hotel. The place is nicely decorated and has a good ambience. Very cheap alcohol is available during happy hours which are till 8 oclock in the evening priced at 69 and 99 plus GST. The tables are like blackboard and one can draw with chalks on these tables. So its quite fun ! Must try the cocktail called Cosmopolitan ! Its heavenly. There is no smoking zone inside. You need to go outside the place and smoke. Sometimes they have karaoke nights as well. Altogether, good experience.

It is a good economic place for hanging out with friends all over the week. They have less variety of cocktails. But the most I like is LIT(long island iced tea). Easily commutable. Good to visit along with family , friends or colleagues

Even though the food menu is less compared to the drinks menu, liked the appetizers, chicken starters and the chilled premium 6% alcohol, beer they provide. Nice retro themed ambiance with the wall paintings and the colored chairs. Unfortunately it was empty when we went there, so didnt know how the crowd is.Biggest plus is it is not that expensive and biggest minus is a board outside stating no stags allowed.

This was the only bar we found in our short stay in Chennai. We anticipated a good bar as they have the same bar in Bangalore. But this was horrid! Its located in the basement of a hotel, dingy, poorly done. The entire looks absolutely sketchy! This place really needs a revamp. We ordered a few drinks which was pocket friendly. Also, ordered a pepperoni pizza which we didnt consume. We could tell the ingredients used were stale. I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone. Unless youre in desperate need for a cheap place to drink.

I went with my two other friends on a fine evening. They boozed, I didnt. The count was 7 beers. But they charged for 8. We couldnt prove at that point as they kept clearing the bottles,. we were arguing that it was only 7, all of a sudden 2 bouncers jumped in without even knowing whats happening n told not to bring in any sort of attention. 58% tax on imported beer! All I had was corona, they didnt have anything else other than Kingfisher, even though they boast a wide range in their menu. Customers should be warned about the tax on imported beer beforehand.

But if you want to talk,to dance and party I would say a big no. It is a bar with music. The music sound felt noisy and annoying which prevented us to talk to each other even within the table. Placing order too was made difficult due to noisy music.I tried Bloody Mary and Mojito. I liked it.We had Thai spiced grilled fish which was excellent, hoppi fried chicken which tasted like that of KFC fry, chiselled prawns which I loved and triple schezwan bowl with chicken.It costed altogether around Rs1800 per person to us. We really enjoyed the place. The place resembles that of Oly pub in Kolkata but with music.Anyways it has its own charm and we loved it and liked it.

Have been here a million times and they make sure the experience is as good as the first time.
