ஆங்கிலத்தில் எழுதுவதற்கு மன்னிக்கவும்.Sitting at home all the time during covid 19 was very stressful, so we decided to travel.Yesterday (24–4–2021) was pradhosham, so we decided we will visit a temple. We made up our mind to travel to this temple, since we wanted to visit this temple for quiet some time. We took the ORR route, and my god, the traffic was so heavy, especially lorries. Probably they wanted to avoid this lockdown on Sunday.Drove steady and with lot of patience since the traffic was very chaotic on ORR and the approach road from the temple to ORR was also kind of jammed with so many lorries carrying rubbish, finally we managed to reach the temple. As we neared the temple, was kind of confused, since parking is a problem near this temple, finally found the parking place near the eastern entrance of the temple. As we parked and entered, the pooja had already started. Glad to see a decent crowd in the temple, some with masks on, some without. Most importantly glad to see children running here and there. Was so happy to learn so many new things from this temple visit. They are :Temple is called Pancha Bhaskara kshetram. “Pancha” means five, and this is one of the five temples where sun god prayed here for relief from the curse he got from lord brahma. ( See photo to get the names of other 4 temples )Since sun god prays the Lord here, the temple does not have the navagraha statues.Since the sun god prayed here for relief, the village got its name Gnayiru. This village Gnayiru is the birth place of sangili naachiyaar one of the two wives of sundaramurthy swamigal. Those with eye related problems or issues can visit this temple to pray and get relief.Coming back, was so happy to witness the pradhosam pooja, it was done very nicely and neatly and differently also. The conch blowing was very new. The way they did the abhishekam for the urchava moorthy was kind of different. We recited our thevaram and thiruvasagam songs.Temple faces east, Lord Pushparatheswar faces east. Ambal soundaryanayaki faces east and she is present on the right side of the Lord, away from the main sanctum sanctorum. One can enter the sanctum sanctorum from the south and from the east too. Rajagopuram present but on the southern side of the temple. Kodimaram present. Temple pond present but on the northern side of the temple. One thing i couldnt understand, was why there are crocodile statues / figures on the roof of the mandapam. Normally you see the nandhi statues or Bhootha ganam but here in addition to nandhi sitting on the four corners, saw crocodile statues.Parking is an issue. Normal days i think it wont be a problem, but on auspicious days it definitely create problems.Temple not that big in size, but definitely with lot of history behind it. Felt so happy that we were able to visit this temple which we planned on visiting for quiet sometime. Worth a visit if you are in this area.

This is one of the very few temples in Tamilnadu dedicated to the sun god (Surya Bhagawan)! ..it is in a small village in the outskirts of chennai. The village is called Gnayiru which means the Sun!...google maps is accurate! ...there is free roadside parking...as well as in a ground nearby. The main diety is lord Shiva...the Sun god is also in the same premises near lord Shiva! There is Kala Bhairava too!Opening times are 6am-12 noon and 4-8 pm on sundays...other days apparently it opens at 8 am. There is a majestic Nagalinga tree...and a big pond whose waters supposedly have curative properties. There is also a Rama temple with chackra Narasimha very next to this temple. There is a nice little shop outside which serves tasty coffee&snacks...they also sell health foods like amla thokku, pirandai thokku, thoothuvelai thokku etc.

Small temple in a village. Dedicated shrine to Surya Bhagawan facing Shiva. Ambal is on the left side of Shiva and both face same direction. This is called Kalyaana Kolam so it becomes a thirumana parikara sthalam by default. Worshipping Shiva and ambal eases the process of marriage.

The temple is really neat and clean. its very divine. Those who visit suriyan must see the ramar temple just adjacent to suriyanar temple there is a reason that the only god who had hidden lord suriyan is in this ramar temple (i forgot the exact name). so if we see him he will cure all our problems made by suryan.Dont get any archana items for any lord. For suriyan they are giving one red cloth, kothumai along with archana things its cost is 120 rs. to sell this the sellers outside will say they are doing archana inside. but no please dont buy even the flowers also they are not putting it for god. Please dont waste money. just visit our lords that enough he will give enough blessings. once covid-19 issues gets over we can spend as much as we can

Excellent temple. Neatly maintained. Little bit crowded on Sundays. Temple pond is neat. You can see thiruvodu tree inside temple premises. They provide annadhanam for 25 people daily. You can contribute as per your wish. From the main road, you need to travel almost 10 km with lots of curves and bends and speed breakers to reach this temple.
