A padal Petra sthalam in its full splendour. Owing to pandemic related guidelines only the main sanctum santorum is open and other other sannadhis are closed. Swami and ambal are graceful. Nandhi facing towards the gate and not Shiva is an absolute unique part of the temple. I just wish god gives me the strength to visit temple once again post this pandemic and explore its full glory.

Recent days I do visit this temple everyday. Morning 6am to afternoon till 12pm and evening 4pm to night 8pm. One of the oldest temple which gives immense peace when we visit.

Kodiudai Amman the three form of God in that one is here in thirumullaivoyal along with massilamaneeswar ayya and another thing nandhi mainly in opposite direction if you get their you can know about history regarding it in front of the side of adjacent to out entry side they will be listed out in Tamil go and get the blessings of ayya and Amma peace forever love all.

Its a famous Shiva temple with renowned history. In this temple Lord Nandhi will not be facing Lord Shiva and instead will face temple outside. It means Lord Nandi is ready to go out to help others.

Nice temple, Sundharar sung hymn here. This is one of the temples in Chennai has hymn (Paadal Petra Sthalam). Arunagirinathar sung Thiruppugazh here towards Murugan. Temple is so big like Mylapore temple. Temple tank is also so big. Peace and blessings here. Come with your family and kids to have a nice dharshan.

Sri Masilamaneeswarar Temple at Thirumullaivoyil is big and more than 2000 year old temple. One of 276 தேவார பாடல் பெற்ற Lord Shivan temple. The consort is kodiyidai Nayaki also called Kiriya Shakthi. The temple is built with two ancient wooden pillars வெள்எருக்கு தூண். Nandhi is facing east on the order of Lord Shivan to go battle field to help the king Thondaman to defeat the two asuras Vanan and Oonan. The garbagragha is in the shape of Gajabristham. This temple finds a place in every other Visu film, has a great history and houses Kodi idai Amman. Seeing Kodi idai Amman, Vadivudai Amman and Thiruvudai Amman on same day is considered good. Very peaceful temple. One of the thrishakthis reside in this temple - Kodiyidai Nayaki. The main deity of the temple is masilamaneeswarar who is huge and is seen ointed with sandal paste throughout the year except 2 days. Once you pray the main deity and come out you will be able to see kodiyidai nayagi who has a very calm composed features and welcomes you with all her love.. when you circumbulate around the temple you will find that the nandikeswarar, the vehicle of masilamaneeswarar is seen facing outward due to historical reason as lord Shiva sent his vehicle to fight a war in this temple. The temple is currently under renovation and I believe there would be kumbabishekam very soon.. there are sannidhis of veerabadhra, Surya, bhairava, muruga with his consorts. The sacred shrub of the temple is mullaivanam. And the temple pond can be located outside the temple compound - it is huge and has ancient mandapam.

Special prayers are to offered to this Devi by offering green saree & bananas for neivaedhiyam.The Lord is Maasilaamaneeswarar.The temple is located in Thirumullaivaayil (a place full of Mullai flowers - jasmine & hence the name), near Ambattur, Aavadi. Sthala PuraanamWhen Thondaiman was the ruler of Thondai Mandalam, people were tortured by unruly gangsters. The king set out to destroy them. But they were very powerful having gained the support of negative forces, by means of mantrams & tantrams. On his way back, the kings elephant caught its leg in a Mullai creeper. The king tried to cut the creepers with his sword. Blood started sprouting from the spot. The king cleared the spot & found a Svayambu Siva Lingam. The king was so upset that he had hurt the Lord that he raised his sword to cut off his own head. Lord Siva appeared along with Uma Devi, Nandi Devar & his ganas and blessed the king. He sent Nandi Deva along with the king to destroy the gangsters. The grateful king constructed a temple for the Lord. Since the Lingam was cut, a medcinal herbal sandal paste is appled to the Lingam (sandana Kaappu). The Devi sannadhi is seen to the right of the Lords sannadhi. The Nandi idol instead of facing the Lord, is seen facing the entrance of the temple. It is believed that he is on the alert looking to vanquish the bad elements. There is a sannadhi for Thondaiman. In the outer prakaaram, there are the sannadhis of Vinayagar, Suryan, Virabadrar, Nagar, Lord Muruga with Valli & Deivayanai, Colzhapureeswarar & Kusalapureeswarar.
