Kalaivanar Arangam is an auditorium situated at Wallajah Road in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. Named after N. S. Krishnan, The completely air-conditioned auditorium has seats for 1,100 persons on the first and second floors and about 1,300 persons on the third floor.Originally built as an assembly building in 1952, the legislature functioned from here. In 1974, the then Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi inaugurated the renovated auditorium. The auditorium was later demolished and built again with state-of-the-art facilities. Chief Minister Jayalalithaa inaugurated the present auditorium in February 2016

Very big auditorium for grand events and meetings for govt and private peoples or Organisations. Good maintenance looks clean more parking place. I like the chairs and the sound system and lights inside. The Auditorium architecture is Super.

Awesome place. Very neatly maintained and fully air conditioned. Great place to organise big events , parties , etc. The parking place is also vast. It is located in the main place. From Central station its very near and also beach is nearby. Overall its an awesome place.

A newly built exhibition cum auditorium on Wallajah Road, Chennai. We visited the handloom show going on here and it was worth the visit. The show featured stalls from different states and offered higher discounts than one can get from the showrooms. The auditorium is named after the popular comedian of yesteryear, NS Krishnan, also known as Kalaivanar (trans. lover of arts). The auditorium is 3-stories high with large seating capacities in each floor. It’s well worth a visit and to catch an event happening here!

Location is good just behind the Government Omanthurar estate medical College at wallajah road. Spacious car parking. It has 3floors of halls for public functions.First floor has a huge auditorium that can accommodate around a thousand people. Escalator facility available. Restrooms are well maintained. Very good place to conduct conferences. It will be nice if they maintain the building properly.

Worst experience I was asked to sit down when the place is allotted to me. However the goons present there made me to sit down for the sake of down. Horrible experience. Will not come if I were invited to this place for any occasion.

A government run massive hall in the heart of the city. First and foremost its got an impressive facade and imposing elevation. Approach is excellent and huge car park is available within the campus. The hall is huge with three columns of seating in gallery style. The entry at the stage side is in lower level and the rear rows are accessible from first floor.The Air-conditioned hall could be better with more cooling but overall its good hall.Booking is difficult as government function take precedence.

This Kalaivanar Arangam is Recently built Auditorium by Government of Tamil Nadu.Basically for Hosting Government Functions and other Private Events.Its so spacy and has Theatrical seating with over more than 1500 seats and a large stage.Its fully air-conditioned and has got 2 Floors and aample of Parking areas for four wheeler and Two wheeler.

State owned auditorium. Large. Recently demolished and rebuilt. Lifts for convenience. Excellent sound. Comfortable seats. Good view from all areas

One of the best places to conduct big meetings. Extremely comfortable seating, very spacious, and large car parking. The AC is excellent and very effective. Very well maintained auditorium.

Superb hall , parking speaks louder, the stage and seating also very nice, wonderful place for meetings. The cost little high (2.5 L) even though its worth. Seating capacity 1025. awesome arrangements , the stage is visible from the last seat of the hall, sufficient doors and waypath for the seats. We can give 5out of 5 for this Arangam near to beach.

Visited this place after many years. Years ago this used to be a run down building, like the ones in horror movies, really bad.Now, what a difference. The place is bright with plenty of sunlight, looks vast, clean restrooms, generally maintained better.Who know how long this one lasts, at present a good one..

Crown Amplifiers & digital equalizer are used.There are Projector room, Editing room , Green room etc.,

Wasnt well maintained, we can find papers lying all over, the doors were left half fixed, is a pity such places arent maintained properly. Located conveniently near the beach, accessible from all over, ample free parking spaces for bikes and cars, with all these facilities i hope this place goes a notch up with its maintaince.

Its a wonderful theatre, the cultural events of Chennai deserve. The inauguration of 15th CIFF was conducted here. The sound system and seating is amazing. With proper maintenance, Kalaivanar Arangam could be a cultural hub. Being in the center of the city helps its cause

This is a govt building in Chennai. The building is constructed well and showcases events , film and political broadcast too. Triplicane Electricity Junction boxes are not safe or secure. My only worry is the Tamil Nadu electricity board needs to sort it out. Whenever there is a function the whole building is lit up and there are power failures on the other side of the road and especially when it rains.
