This is not the best but good cafe inside IIT Madras campus. You will get limited food items only in lunch time (mostly south indian). But you can chill out with your friends or colleagues and discuss some work over a cup of tea.
Decent and well ventilated place to dine in at reasonable rates. Social distance well maintained
சொல்லற அளவுக்கு சிறப்பு இல்லை.. building is owned by IT MADRAS.. caterers will be changing periodically. ... So nothing special food is served.. u can have average taste food at reasonable cost..
Cheap food for iit students and staffs. But food quality is poor, place is unhygienic and sometimes you can find cockroach in food. Staffs are rude.
Evening tiffin at this spacious cafe was a satisfactory experience. The lower level is the go to place for a quick bite on the go, especially if one feels peckish between lectures. All the usual tiffin items are available: mini idli, vadai and bonda and dosai and oothappam to be washed down with hot tea and strong filter coffee. The menu keeps changing daily. Everything is freshly cooked and served hot. And the best thing about the whole thing was the pocket friendly price. The same items would cost 3 times more!! On the upper floor is the food court which was a bit of a disappointment. There is variety of a certain sort: Tibetan, Chinese and both North and South Indian and Italian, but only in name. Although the items sounded foreign the taste was not authentic and most of the items are pre cooked and merely heated up and served. The price was certainly not value for money. So, if you plan on visiting this place stick to the lower level.
Just your usual canteen. Average taste and average variety
Over priced canteen. Can improve in terms of both quality & quantity.
I loved the egg puff and banana cake. It was delicious and price was reasonable.
Average quality but cheap and best one
Good place at iitm for having refreshments
Functional.Bare bones.Gets things done. Student pocket friendly.
Inexpensive and good food.
Hang out your friends there with a coffee... Front of NAC...
Medium cost, good for students.
For those lucky IITians. I wish they include some more options in the menu.
The food is ok for hungry person
Limited stuff. Not many varieties of baby products and high price.
Affordable price. A wide range of menu to choose from. And food items are constantly changed and new menu is implemented, which makes this campus cafe not boring as other campus canteens. Friendly and energetic staff. A lot of room for evening tea gatherings. Worth a try.
In the ground floor, you have the regular mess where you get breakfast items like dosa, poori idli, and rice varieties like fried rice, biryani, thali, sambar rice, etc. but its all vegetarian food (self-service) . You also get tea, coffee. On the first floor, you have different eateries, including wow momos, woss subs, Italian bay etc. Its a good place to hangout with friends.
Good food in covid 19
No competition thats why there confidence..food not upto mark
Such a great place to have a quick bite inside the campus.Opening and closing times are fixed, closes at 6pm .Pricing of edible items is reasonable.Well maintained neat and tidy all the time thanks to the supportive staffs who work tirelessly.
Good food at decent price and fast service. Would recommend for a quick bite.
A variety of snacks and meals are available at a competitive price. Ambience is just a regular big hall canteen. Staff is courteous. But they need to improve on table cleanliness.
Very nice cheap and best& quality nice
Good food at optimal price
Lots of variety to eat.
Literally bad food
Good variety. Cheap, healthy meals. Adequately clean place. The onion samosa is beautifully crisp and worth a try. However, the menu on Sundays does not have a lot to offer. Also, samosas are not available during tea time.
Very economic for institute students, staff and faculty alike.Place is hygienic as well, with quality food being served.Only con being that there is a huge queue most of the times. That deters me from going there. Else, its a really good dining spot.
Average food. Consider it as a place to chill with friends.
Good place for quick bite for IIT Madras Junta. This place have most diversified food counters are available. Ground floor is very cheap. But first floor is very expensive compared to all other campus options. Taste also not great
In Ground Floor There is some Indian Foods available.. And it was quietly tasty 😋.. I found one weight machine in the left corner of the cafe.. I really love it😝..
Cheap and very nice. Taste was awesome felt like home made. Lot of varieties are provided at considerable rate. Better than food for thought.
Its closed during late hours in the evening. No popular food chains. Just local franchisees. Taste is good. Cant complain about the hygiene.
Having moved to newly constructed premises, hygiene surely has improved. Food is affordable and remains the cheapest in the campus. Food quality is good if not great, and both quantity and quality match the price. The place is spacious and there can be a wait, though for not more than a minute or two.Four stars for quality and price.
Nice place to get cheap food. Not recommended during lunch time as there will be a sea of customers there and only limited food. So if you go after 1 pm or so, most of the food (especially papads, vadas and other sides) would have been finished, and youll have to just eat rice only.Other than that, the place is good.We have retail shops in the first floor which serve fast food and Indian food as well, but that is a bit expensive.
Reasonable price. Good place to hangout with friends for longer time. The improved version of campus cafe deserves 5 stars for sure.
My Commute Lunch
Nice food is good
This place is inside IIT Madras campus. It is not really a cafe as the name implies. It is just a college canteen. The quality of food available here is average.
Food quantity is very poor.
Only good thing is that you will get some spicy ready made food like pizza, Momos. Fruit. Juice centre z worst ever i experienced.
First floor, very good shops available for food. CC is nice for tea and snacks.
THE BEST and CHEAPEST eatery at IIT Madras. One can get many varieties of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food of best taste for the best prices here. Do give a visit when at IITM.
Good quality food at affordable price. Best tea at eight rupee price tag.
As a cafe with closed shops most of the time, not bad. Quite a lot of saving.
Affordable place to have food in IIT Madras. They offer cheap and good quality food especially the coffee for 8 bucks which is definitely a worth to try and Rava dosai for 25 bucks.Cons: Should be made available all time. Majority of products are not available all time
Food is very ordinary. People come for mostly tea and snacks. South Indian meals is very economical for the quality.
If u too hungry that Food make u feel good....taste wise also ok
Amazing food but its heavily crowded even on weekends since IIT students jump in for their lunch.
Tasty food menu with reasonable price and Worthy place for students and visitors in IIT..
Great place for having food. On the ground floor quite cheap options are also available. Place becomes very crowdy at peak times.
Good dining spot in IIT Madras campus. Price is reasonable (subsidised i guess). Only difficulty that i feel is it has recently brought many non veg. items (esp. like fish fry which can smells). Being a vegetarian, i find it hard to dine there for lunch. Breakfast and dinner, its good to have.
Campus cafe has two floors with a food court in the first floor, which has a variety of shops to pick from including wow moms, krishnavilas, woss to name a few. Its a popular eatery inside the iitm campus
Cheapest food in the campus
Best staffs and admin. High level maintained canteen, with available of required Food items.
Good
Healthy food, rich variety of South Indian menu, very affordable at Rs. 100 for two people. 4 star is for dining table cleaning. Cleaning staff alone has kept this place a little low.
Great food and tea abd coffee! This was good start for day for us for limited time when we were here!
Its is for IIT people. Here we can buy food. And its economical too
Good good quality...but some dishes are not freshly made nd jst heated up and given!!!
Pretty decent place - good food quality and great energy due to the crowd
Good Service, Healthy & Hygenic Food. Good for all. Heart of the IIT Madras campus. So hygenic for family and kids at lowest price.
Neat and good. Good food at a nominal rate.
Food is available at a low cost. Cleanliness can be maintained more
Its okay
Cheap. Reliable. Spacious. But quality of goods and services over the years, although investments are improving.
Okay food at low rates for students. Extra 1🌟 for the affordability.
This is at IIT MADRAS, reasonable price and quality is good, best place for students, only veg is available
Nice one... to have good food..and neet
This place is good. Foods are very healthy and hygiene. Everybody can afford the price for the food.
Great initiative to put chaat, juice, fast food, veg restaurant, cake shop under one roof. Service can be faster. Tables could be cleaner. But overall one of my fav
One word to describe about Cafe is its awesome. Nice variety of South indian dishes on very reasonable rates. Nice seating arrangement too.
Good food but they dont have enough space to accommodate everyone coming there at a peak time
A good place to have quality food. Not a great ambience for discussions. Workers are always in a hurry and service is sub par.
Campus cafe consists of two floors.Ground floor: there is only one vendor we can get tea/coffee, South Indian Veg food at reasonable rates.First floor: here, there are shops for shake, juices, Momos, salad, south indian food, burger, sandwitch etc. It is a bit costly
You get very good food for a very low price, for eg, for breakfast, pongal is only ₹15, vada ₹8, tea, coffee ₹8.
Great south indian food.....cheaper price..... healthy ambience.... absolutely loved it..
Its really Spacious. But the food menu is very limited. The prices are very reasonable for the quality and taste. Self service - and they do accept PayTm.
All the universities have a square where people sit around and spend time. Iit Madras untill recently was missing that square. With the addition of campus Cafe and the new academic building, it has over come that problem. The campus Cafe is the most economical option for quick bites from mrng till evening 7pm. The variety of choice is huge and the items are of good quality. The only thing that can be improved is cleaning.
Budget meals. Taste is normal
Value for money, super basic best for students. But reminded me of my campus days!!
Staff canteen of IIT Madras..... Good and affordable place but have network issues. It open from monday to saturdays from 9 am to 7 or 8 of night.
