Great place for Barathanatiyam Artist

Went to watch Black sheeps navayuga rathakaneer play.its pretty hard to locate the place from the road.Its not an air-conditioned sabha and has old cushion seats.can accomodate around 350 people

Superb auditorium for concerts. Super stage. Good audio system. Seat arrangemnet awesome.

Nice and big hall for function and programs

Concerts(i have attended concerts only)or any other art forms, this place is where you can enjoy the performances quite peacefully with the small but the right crowd. The small auditorium with the good sound settings (i would suggest an improvement in the seats though) is a good choice for music lovers. And the cost were quite cheap as well starting from 250(from the back cost increases as we ho front rows) for the ones i attended. Place is walkable from Tnagar bus station.

I dont like Krishna sweets nowadays because they didnt serve their customers like how they served in earlier days... as a Customer I thought, Sri Krishna sweets moved on a path of money minded business outlet.because the price the snacks and beverages are very high as well as the quantity of the snacks and beverages or very less.... Also they packed many of the items previously and kept in a shelf and not in front of the customer.They have given more importance for packages than the quantity... It may happen if theyre getting only very high end customers and not the middle class.

Very famous auditorium in Chennai for music programs and cultural programs. Situated in very busy place. Approach road is little narrow and traffic is also quite heavy during evenings. Four wheel drive wont be a comfortable one. No parking place in side the premises. Wash rooms not maintained well. Way to toilets is in open area hence during raining season it would be hell of a task. Cane chairs with pillows are provided however they are tied to each other. Very little place is provided between rows so people coming in late would find it difficult to move towards empty seats. Lighting and Audio system is good.

What can i say ..... i love KGS. Best performers. Valet is also available. The admin office is so helpful and sweet. The only humble request i have for the committee members is to use mosquito repellent and killers more generously.

Perfect Ambience for Carnatic music

Excellent ambience and seating facility and air conditioning. One of the rare sabhas where Audio quality is noise free and too good.

A good place for music concerts, dance or other arts. Lacks space for parking vechiles considering the crowd it attracts. Kept clean and some chairs needs repair. Halls should have more natural light.

Small but compact air conditioned auditorium, situated in a very well-connected location. Sitting arrangement is good and spacious. Good management. And the authority is quite co-operative. I dont know about the rate, whether it is costly or not, but it was the best selection of the organizer, who was invited on a Arangetram Ceremony, I think.

The food is bliss to have. And one of the serene place to have your lunch. The food gives you real homemade touch to it. The place has a big tree in its compound, which is really a great thing to watch while having some yummy finger licking food.P.s. The place serves only mini meals in the noon. They dont serve meals at all. And also, there is a concert hall which u can book before n attend some music concerts...

Gana sabha is well maintained.... but the Parking here is big problem... You have park vehicles on road

Nice traditional hall in heart of the city. Car parking is the only problem with the location. Management can try and arrange atleast some nearby location for easy car parking. Otherwise its a good hall.

Superb auditorium. Good lighting pleasant air-conditioning. Same old ethnic seats. Dark background and seating area whilst fully focused on content area where professionals perform. Nice entrance and welcoming arrangements where given prompt spot makes the mood gets washing away the frustration before getting inside. I wish to go again and again. Value for cultural programs.

I visited Kamakoti Hall. Compact but looks very old. Not much decoration. Ideal for a small crowd and entry level performance. Budget hall in terms of money, space and utility value

Premise has no parking, no dining. Lots of rules and regulations. Its easy for them to start yelling at the organizers. Would suit if people arrive in cabs and if there are no lunch or dinner

Lovely, large auditorium, conveniently located in T Nagar , close enough to the main Usman road to be accessible but set into a road that is away from the noise of Usman Road. Very good AC and audio

Seats at the last 6 rows are bad.Otherwise a great venue for some good Music/Play. Sound quality was crisp and clear. Traditional Sabha ambience with bamboo chairs, given the age of the place.

Great acoustics. But just like old days of saving power by switching off fans... They switched off AC and most fans. Sweltering good sanjay concert.

A beautiful auditorium, with great acoustics and captivating traditional decor. The mini hall is a cosy room which can probably seat about 150. A perfect setting for a sabha, but also for a modern performance like poetry reading, theatre or a talk. Cane chairs with arm-rests and cushions. This seems to be a preferred form of seating in Chennai. The design aesthetics of Krishna Gaana Sabha are truly impressive and must be experienced by the sahrdaya (connoisseur) community. A slight note of caution -- the contracted catering provided during the current margazhi season was - in my opinion as an itinerant visitor - below par, and expensive. Sadly, there are no good alternatives nearby either. Bangalore clearly trumps Chennai when it comes to a good swig of coffee at a reasonable price. And one more concern -- the beautiful mini-hall experience was marred by a slight but distinct mal-odour, perhaps coming from adjoining rooms.

I am visiting this music hall for the last 3 decades, from the time of Mr.Yagnaraman, who was instrumental in bringing this auditorium to this present level. Main hall for music and bharathanatyam concerts and mini hall for lecture demo, start up musicians kutchery. Theres Sri Krishna Sweets canteen. Main problem here is parking. Even 2 wheelers to be parked on streets.

A superb hall that accomodates a huge audience and the experience is so good.Car parking is a big challenge.

Wooden flooring, air-conditioned auditorium, old house ambience are alluring. They conduct classes for barathanatyam, mridangam etc. One should be lucky to experience the place. Right opposite to it is the Ramakrishna mission ashram, gurukul, library and meditation hall. Experience this place also. If lucky, you could talk to sanyasi there.

Its one of the most prestigious sabhas in Chennai for the Carnatic music circuit. Although not huge in capacity, its acoustically sound with good facilities, and is located in a nice area.

Auditorium has been upgraded.New sound system is very good, especially for Chennai. AC is working well, to well for some people.A lot of concerts at this venue have always been ticketed (not free). Ticket prices seem to have gone up.

I have never been here and visiting for first time .A classical example of how a simple thing can be complicated to no end. While the hall and arrangements are good , the seating arrangements are awful with some great confusion in numbering which led to endless quarrels ...robbing the charm out of the entire experience. Management may take care of this at the earliest.

A good indoor auditorium. Very good for dance/music shows/auditions. They have a very good sound system in place

Big hall, same old wicker chairs. Not comfortable at all. Some of them have cushions and many of them dont. Good food in the canteen run by Sri Krishna. From position kuzhakattai to dosai, whatever we ordered was tasty.

One of my most favourite Sabhas in the city! Absolutely love the Chettinad/Tanjavur-style architecture and the overall ambience of the place. No season is complete without attending at least one concert here! The seats arent very comfortable, though.

Sri Krishna Gana Sabha is really the sort of place Chennai needs! Its quite diminutive yet theres such an aura of well managed serenity and respectability around it. Went there to hear Vishaka Hari and the hall has got just the right proportions to ensure the performance can be perfectly enjoyed. The acoustical was free of glitches. There was both free and paid entry and there was a TV outside displaying the performance in very good quality. Overall, must visit in the month of Margazhi.

Brilliant auditorium. Sound is just perfect. Seating gives you the feel of first row even from the tenth row. What else do you need?

A spacious art and cultural centre in the middle of busy TNagar. A nice sound system with air conditioning. Its infact a place having ever cherishing memory of Indian art and music.

Good auditorium but no parking inside the venue. Canteen is good. However for ticketed programs you will find people who have bought the less expensive tickets coming and seating themselves later in the front rows which are most expensive. No point therefore buying the expensive tickets. Sometimes people for the next program which may be non ticketed are freely let in while the ticketed programs are in progress. This is an enormous disturbance for the keen rasikas who have paid a high price and are watching with concentration. The audience who walk in for the non ticketed programs have little interest and go on talking and disturbing the entire ambience. Proper access and seating control needs to be in place. Some seats have cushions and some dont...within the same price category. This creates visibility issues if you are in a seat that doesnt have a cushion as the slope towards the stage is very minimal.

Must visit for authentic Tamil Veg Thali, better than any one else in Chennai, ambience is natural

Acoustics are ok. Cant hear all that great sound at the back. The bamboo chairs have nails jutting out. So be careful.

It is very good hall with audio, lightings and broad hall to accommodate more people. But it has few cons that parking is very challenging as we have to park outside in the roads and it is very congested for refreshments, also all seats are wooden and only few have cushion.

Being a Trust i would trust them to take care of the public. YCPA can be even more professional in this regard. By conducting any program in this sabha should not create public nuisance. This is mainly with respect to the vehicles coming to the sabha. Since there are not enough parking space for this sabha and not even a valet parking is arranged, people park on both sides of the roads and creates lots of public nuisance to the general public and to the residence of that road and adjacent roads. Now that government had taken care of the pedestrians and have constructed the platforms, but all the sabha vehicles are parked adjacent to the platforms not allowing pedestrians to walk on it. And vehicles are parked on both sides of the roads creating total chaos. Autos are the other nuisance, where they are parking right infront of the sabha . All these are been the case for long and am not sure if the trust is really taking care of this. Appreciate if the trust could handle this professionally like how they handle the programs in the sabha. Expecting any immediate action on the same, writing this in public interest.
