I was a resident of West Mambalam 15 years before. At that time we used to listen Athipayangaram Annangaracharya Swamigal, Pulavar Keeran and such other greats discourses on Ramayana and Mahabharata. That was an experience.That remained in our mind. My mom used to visit daily for dharshan of Shri Ram. Navarathri nine days was real celebration time for religious activities and music.Its heartening to see that Ramsamaj maintaining Mandapam Spick and clean and conducting all the religious activities well.It is a rarity to see such activities in the city of Chennai , nowadays

We went to participate in the Homam. As for the religious aspects, it was indeed a grand affair. After the function, the organisers informed the gathering that there are plenty of Prasad and all the participants were requested to have prasadan and go. But to our surprise, when we went to the venue, there were almost 100 to 150 people and there was no Prasadam available.Later, when I tried to point it out in the Ayodhya Mandapam office, the in-charge, curtly told me that, Prasadam is available on first cum first served basis.We learnt a lesson on that date, that in Chennai, after any function, we should not wait for the Prasadam.

I went to attend the Pooja performed by Shankaracharya. It was very crowded and the devotees were chanting Jaya Jaya Shankara Hara Hara Shankara. The atmosphere was very much charged with devotion. Spent about 40 minutes and came home

Mambalam means Ram samaj. It is a place for rituals, discourses, divine displays and visited and blessed by great spiritual people, abode for concerts. It is a pride of Chennai too.

Ayodhya Mandapam organizes for devotional musical programs every now and then. They invite big personalities to perform. But they dont care for the noise pollution they create by using loud speakers during such programs / music festivals. They refuse to understand that those who are interested in those programs are already sitting in there. Then whats the need to play loudspeakers for those who want to sit in their homes and listen to something else, like a TV program or radio, or simply want have a quiet time! They force upon us their loud music, due to which people in the neighbourhood are unable to even keep their windows and doors open. This noise continues from evening till night, for days and weeks together. On asking them to reduce the volume, they have refused to do so, and even challenged me to complain about it if I want to. They are so sure of their clout! Down with such music programs that trouble people around.

Situated near West Mambalam ICICI bank a spiritual place always filled with events. The place is famous for religious and cultural events. However, parking is a problem in this over crowded road.
