Its really a good place to visit. Its distinct from other churches in that this has many vintage locations like those rock caves which bear the footprints of St. Thomas, an Apostle of Christ, The Holy Shroud of Turin etc.

Wonderful 2000 years old historical place 2 visit. The Cross church with pieces of cross is really energetic to pray. The architecture design and interior work is really excellent. The dead body of christ laid in a cave is realistic. The miraculous spring done by St.Thomas is worthy for eyes. Retired old men are used to guide the tourist and faithful. St. Thomas cave from where he prayed and escaped is miraculous. All Christians,historians,archeologist and tourist should visit in life.

We visited this spot with our guide it was tucked away in busy Chennai. It was where St Thomas hid in the cave. The gardens showed the stations of the cross but they had a very new meditation area with a magnificent modern depiction of Christ which I found very beautiful the light was perfect in there. They also were placing some lovely mosaics into the windows.

Little Mount Shrine is one among the important Holy Sites which has connection with the Apostle St.Thomas.St.Thomas is believed to be stayed and Prayed here. Has spots where you can see the foot and finger prints believed to be of St.Thomas. Has a bleeding cross on the rock believed to be carved out by St.Thomas himself, where the Saint prayed. Has a natural spring which has water across the year, believed to be the source of water during that time.This site also has a Chapel, Meditation room, community hall, etc.

One of the beautiful church,been there for my firnds wedding. More sculpturea and open places for a peaceful walk ..clean environment with ample parking space and to witness St.Thomass hand and foot prints is a blessed experience.

Excellently developed by Father Lawrence Raj. This is the first church I have seen so well taken care off and developed so well. I have visited many churches around the world but this is unique and really miraculous.. So blessed to be here. Really awesome.. Must visit churches in your to do list.

Historical place.  In 1551 AD, Portuguese built a Church over the site where St Thomas is believed to have lived in. Later, in the year 1970, a part of this old Church was demolished and a larger circular Church was built to accommodate more devotees. St.Thomas one of the disciples of Lord Jesus was believed to have here. Once you visit this place to will come to know a lot of history. St. Thomas finger engraving is found there. A miraculous water flow found and many more to discover. A small cave open to public is a welcome sight. Its very near to little mount bus stand. Restroom available there. Great place for pilgrimage and meditation. Its a shrine with a relic of St Thomas, a place where the St Thomas one the Apostles of Jesus Christ lived and preached. There are some foot prints, hand impressions and a spring of water believed to have healing powers. All of this is enshrined in the Our Lady of Health Church premises

Nice looking Shrine and known for very long time; pleasant atmosphere and its on a small hill. You have 2 community halls for functions - St. Thomas hall and St. Joseph hall. A nice place to spend the evening and of course spiritually.

It is also known as little mount. There is a security guard who can explain the history of the place. Its beautiful after beautification... The diocese has done Good work in making it into a place of awe, devotion and place of Prayers. St. Thomas was here hiding and praying while being chased by his persecutors... There is footprints, hand Imprints and miraculous bleeding ( then bleeding) Cross, and miraculous fountain...

A divine place where you can see the small cave where apostle Thomas prayed , and his foot prints. .a miracle water spring- St.thomas prayed for water in Thirst, so God open a spring in the rocks !! where it gives water for more than 2000yrs still you can experience it..

Peaceful church. I am concerned about having a commercial hall inside the church premises. It disturbs the tranquility and peaceful nature of the church. There is a big one at the foot of the church. Why do they have to build one inside the church??

There seems some confusion in the reviews of the place. The place known as little mount is locally called chinnamalai and the church is named as our lady of health. This is located at Saidapet and NOT near the airport. The church or shrine near the airport is st.thomas mount.Little mount is believed to be the place where St. Thomas was in hiding. You can see the cave as an underground place attached to the church. There is a rock with a huge palm impression and it is believed that this palm impression belongs to St.Thomas. There is a spring which again is believed to have been in existence from the time of St.Thomas and many devotees carry this water back along with them. This place therefore has historic and religious importance. Just around the church there is a small garden with the depiction of the stations of the cross.

Once in a month I visit this place.. st Thomas is most powerful Saint.

The shrine of Apostle St. Thomas , and the cave in which he lived and was captured is here. This is an amazing place with a church and the cave. As you go up through the steps you have the bleeding cross and the well , but now it is under renovation. You can still walk and see the places where the stations of cross are there and finally the tomb of Jesus. There is a huge crown of thrones and a beautiful chapel close to it . Those going to the shrine , should never miss this place , its amazingly done up , you have to leave your footwear and ascend the steps its totally a holy place. The serenity of the place is great. As you walk into this chapel, its graceful and you feel at peace. The architecture is great the glass painting on the windows amazing. And as you kneel, the cross and everything inside it is holy and peaceful .

It is said that St.Thomas was thirsty and he had this miraculous spring from the rocks providing water to Doubting Thomas after his prayer. The water level has never reduced at this spring and is always full even after drawing water. Even during drought period the spring provides water...

Wow... this shrine has got a complete makeover during past two years. It is a different type of experience now unlike a past. The new Parish Priest Fr. Lawrence Raj as usual as he did in other Churches in the city like Santhome Cathedral, has transformed this place as one of the attractive and well-developed shrines in Chennai city. In the cave located inside the old shrine, it is said that St. Thomas, the Apostle hid himself and prayed. He ran for his life from here to St. Thomas Mount about 3 kms away where he was martyred. His foot and finger-prints are still visible in the cave. Worth to visit this pilgrimage centre.

A holy shrine for St. Thomas Christians of India. It is the place where Thomas the Apostle of Jesus lived. The Parish consists of a mix of many kinds of people. Masses are in English, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Korean. The Church is beautiful and the atmosphere ambient.

If you are a person who wants solace at the end of the day, I would recommend you this place after 7pm on weekdays. A wonderful place where you can get the stillness and quietness that would help you pray, away from the buzzing city.I would not recommend this place on weekends.
