The Integral Coach Factory is one of the earliest production units of independent India. It was inaugurated by the first Prime Minister of India Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru on 2nd October, 1955. Later the Furnishing Division was inaugurated on 2nd October, 1962 and the production of fully furnished coaches steadily increased over the years .

I never forget this place in my entire life. I visited here as an intern. I mesmerized after entering to this factory. Always this factory will be busy. All workers work hard . Train 18 is made in this Icf. I realized how engineering is important to our day to day life. Every Mechanical engineering studnet should visit here in his/her lifetime.

ICF set a new record produce 2503 coaches in the fiscal year 2017-2018, aiming to produce 3,000 coaches in fiscal year 2018-2019.

The main factory of the Indian Railway was established in 1955 with the development of the Integral Coach Factory or ICF (ICF) Passenger Boxes. This factory, created after the Indian independence in Perambur in Chennai, is made of lightweight, complete and steel and coarse luggage passenger boxes. Railway connectivity factory is a primary manufacturing unit in the manufacture of railway passenger trains of Indian Railways.Established railway station factory year .... 1952Export boxes are often exported to Indian Railways, but exports are also exported to countries such as Thailand, Burma, Taiwan, Zambia, Philippines, Tanzania, Uganda, Vietnam, Nigeria, Mozambique and Bangladesh.The factory was set up in 1955 with the Swiss Confederation. It is a lightweight, all-piece factory made up of steel, which is produced by steel. It has produced 170 types of boxes. It was started by then Prime Minister Nehru Nehru on 02 October 1955.Initially, 350 broadband was capable of producing only nests of third class boxes. The internal container of the box was made of railway workstations. From October 2, 1962, an indoor culvert design workshop was established. By the end of 1974 gradually the production capacity of 750 bottles was achieved. Today, 170 types of boxes are manufactured. Six boxes are prepared for a day in this factory, where 13,000 workers work. A total of 43,551 boxes have been made here since July 2011. In 2010, IFFF made 1503 sets of records
