My visits are predominantly for their BAR only. Its a very ordinary bar, nothing fancy about it, including range of drinks & pricing as well. Staff are good & cordial and snacks provided are very decent. Food ordered & delivered from their kitchen not so good

First they gave room which was not at all good and after insisting in reception they have changed room . Delay in service and need to remaind 2 to 3 times even for water . in 1800 rs we can get very good hotels . will think once again.

Actually I stayed there for quarantine period quite it was good but due to this Corona they never step into our room for cleaning untill 7 days that was tough.Food they give the taste will be great and good but it will be less in quantity. Ordering food is very costly u cant even imagine such prices water bottle in shop its 20 here its 40.i feel like they are earning more I suppose to say. Every day new login and password for WiFi we should call and ask 😬. In the end of the stay I didnt get Corona so its good because other hotel where some people got Corona positive

Man the room quality not good. There was moisture on the floor and it became sticky to walk around. Service not up to the mark.

We booked a double room. The hotel is undergoing renovation but without any inconvenience to the guests. The room is spacious enough for a couple. They provide breakfast and room service and car hire to airport. Mr Kathiravan at the front desk manager is a friendly man with good customer care. It’s situated walking distance from the shopping mall and good restaurants.

We spent 10 days at Hotel Maurya and these are our thoughts.Rooms were bit small and it was not as good as they market them. But for the price, it was okay. Fully air conditioned, with satellite TV and bathroom with hot water, couldnt complain. But there was a time hot water ran out, but it was quickly resolved.Buffet was really good and there ware plenty of authentic south Indian food items for us to enjoy. While the rest of the staff was nicer to the guests, the reception staff could be bit more nicer to the foreign guests who doesnt speak Tamil.Hotel is located in a really convenient place where we could go out for food, shopping or even for a movie.For the amount you pay, hotel provides a good service.

Decent hotel in a popular area - Opposite to Vadapalani bus terminal.Decent hotel to stay along with family members.Sufficient parking for cars and two wheelers.Room rent is looking little high.Good maintenance.The pup facility is totally isolated from the remaining part with a separate lift facility to the sixth floor.

The rooms here are very neat,clean and hygienic. The staffs here are very respective and responsible for their customers. Very good customer service and customer satisfaction. They have very spacious two wheeler and four wheeler parking areaIts easily visible from a high traffic area.

Very small room. looks very old made and bathroom is really small. they have some good modern rooms at 6th floor which is good by any standards. renovation work is also going on which also created a lot of disturbance.

I dont know why people are reviewing very badly about this hotel but for me it was pleasant stay hotel staff were very cooperative & kind enough.About property it is very old but still they have maintained really well with neat & clean.The water is salty & smelly plz avoid sea water usage.About breakfast its moderate range one can like & have it.In this area compared to other hotels this is better with cost wise as I had taken AC deluxe room for single occupancy.

Wifi didnt work for the first night, I had to complain about it. My husband bargained for my second night at hotel and the guy said, okay okay then today when I went to make the check out to go to my husband hotels, they wanted to charge me. I tried to explain to the lady but she was negative about my explain, I had to call my husband and once he talked with her she said, okay okay.The first day, my husband came to the hotel to welcome me and we hug, a man directly push us out of the hotel, there is not warning paper that says, no hugs. He si my husband, came on!!!! Here they treat me like a foreign as I am, they treat foreign people like fool, cheating, lying and overcharged, so in my country as I foreign I am, I hug my husband, because love is to beautiful for to hide it. Breakfast quite poor. Dirty sheets, restroom could be better, the best?? AC.Wouldnt recommend if you are a free mind. Never again would come to this hotel.

Parking problem

I have been staying at Maurya International for over six years now. And there are times when if you ask for a room at the last minute, The Maurya doesnt have any left. Its really that good. The property is old, but very well maintained and clean. The service staff are courteous, thoughtful and kind even if you never tip them: a rarity in Chennai. They have WiFi, a pretty decent bar and very, very good food, excellent 24-hour room service and true Madras filter coffee. Easy access to key areas such as Vadapalani, Koyambedu, Anna Nagar, Guindy, Kodambakkam and Nungambakkam doesnt hurt either. It works just as well for families as for business travelers. Probably the only downside is that running hot water is not available 24/7.

This is one of the few Hotels in Chennai where the staff genuinely care. They smile when you check in. They offer help without you having to constantly tip them. The food is genuinely good. The bathrooms are clean. On top of all the basic requirements, they provide free wifi which while it is not super fast, will easily handle your email and mobile browsing requirements. If you visit often, the staff really make you feel welcome every time. Thanks!

This time I was given poor service. my TV remote was not working. in site of telling the reception, they did not send anyone to change it. the wet area if the bathroom is only two feet wide. very in convenient to take a bath. location of the hotel is good. room was clean and good.

Need to be improved

This is A. Sujith and I have stayed here for 3 days. Coming to this hotel, its located in the heart of the city which is quite prime. The behavior of the staff and etiquette as well are supreme and highest to the standards and the culture of 3 star is quite dominant. coming to the foul part, the hotel is getting older but the authorities of the hotel are not upgrading the standards. Yes, the hotel is well built and is equipped with the facilities like cassette acs way back in 1990s which is quite amazing in those days. But as the time is moving forward , they are still in the culture of 1990s coming to accessories in the room, painting, furnishing, bathroom interiors anything to be concerned. The room key of mine is bent and for the last time I used the key it has broken down to pieces. The hotel authorities anyhow dint asked me to pay for that after a small argument between us , as they already know about the key, that it has bent. so, these are on the foul side. Restaurant in the hotel is not at all impressive. You can find the chilled biriyani that too served in a small casserole for Rs. 250. But if you want to have a stay without any in-dine facilities , this is the place.

Excellent stay at the hotel. Rooms are small but ambience is very good. Well maintained. Staff is supportive and room service is quite fast as well. However, only concern is that the food is quite expensive. Even the water bottle is sold at 2-2.5 times of MRP!!

Room was good, complimentary breakfast was descent but it wouldnt be served hot. Toilet pan would stink sometimes, my bathroom had a problem with hot and cold water system. But i was kind of ignorant towards it as my stay was short. However the behavior of one of the receptionist was very bad. He wasnt cooperative at all and couldnt communicate well if not spoken in Tamil. They gave me a key which had a cracked tag attached to it to power up the room. After use, it was obvious that the crack got a bit extended, so when i was handing off the key while checking out he asked me for a fine of Rs 300 saying it is for the tag and if key went missing he would have charged 1500. I had stayed in a hotel once, where the key went missing and they didnt create an issue. and this hotel made a fuss over a minor crack and it went up to bitter argument. I had to pay rs 300 and leave because I had my to catch the train. Apart from this whenever I would need a login password for wifi, they would delay and I had to come down and ping them, another time I askd for a plate in my room, I again had to go and collect it from the restaurant as their staffs were delaying over it

The hotel is located in the heart of the city just opposite to forum mall, vadapalani. It is accessible to all locations as the vadapalani bus depo is very near by. Food is decent, rooms are spacious and clean. Overall it is a pretty decent hotel within the middle class budget for family.

Best place to live in city. Shoping mall and hospitals are located just around the corner. Easy access to metro. Rooms are clean and tidy. I would highly recommend.

Good facility with height of negligence in msintenance part. My wife just escaped from a major injury due to a fall by slipping while climbing over 20 inches to the bath tub. We requested for a step to climb over which fell on deaf ears. No rescue will be there if it happened to a single occupant. We couldnt get time to go to consumer court as to leave on the next day, Sunday. Our room was 201.

I have been visiting this hotel for a few years for now. it is a great hotel and in a great location. except for one or two instances the staff are helpful and the front desk people are very polite and helpful.

Just opposite forum mall. Had a decent restaurant and bar. Service is decent, food is average nothing mind blowing.

We had booked for 3 nights. We reached around 10 PM, and the person at the reception have us the most horrible room possible..606. We realized this the moment we checked in, with unpainted dirty walls, floors, plug points that wouldnt work. Im 6 tall and when using the WC,my knees would brush against the wall. Since it was relatively late in the night, we didnt ask for a change. Thankfully the next day the lady at the reception agreed to move us to 502, which was slightly better. The water used in the flush seems to be from STP, and the whole toilet smells at any point in time. The bed sheets in 502 had stains and were torn to pieces (pics attached) and again had to call to get them replaced. Overall it was a disaster and wouldnt recommend this hotel to anyone. They have a doorman in a fancy dress who greets you every single time - instead of such nonsense from 1980s, they should focus on whats required for a budget Traveller in 2018.

The TV remotes are without cover and wont work at times. One may have to fight with the cover and battery to turn on the TV. Falls roof is very flimsy and the gaps are very visible. I got the room next to the elevator (lift) so I could hear the sound through out the night, sound proof of the room need little improvisation. Not availed this facility but could provide bed time coffee or tea.

I was told Ladies NOT ALLOWED at the bar of a hotel that calls itself international. Such a shame that the management is allowed to do so in a Metropolitan city of India. Asking lady guest to leave and tell me we are NOT ALLOWED!
