A good place for relaxation , fun and adventure. If you come to this place ask the auto driver to accept RS100/- only. Do visit both the Snake and Childrens Park. Just beware of the snakes as they have found a way to escape the cage and are roaming in the park with their newly found freedom . We found one just above a wall running a marathon with us ! You can enjoy the egg toast in the canteen. Enjoy.

I love this Snake Park since my childhood. I visited this place many times in 90s with my parents and friends. Now, after 20-25 years, this time I had taken my kids and family to cheerish my old memories. Thanks to the Trust and Association for their well maintainence. Nice picnic point where you spend easily 4-5hrs, best time would be from noon to 6PM. You can find 2 Kids open play area and food court. Entry Ticket cost and vehicle parking fare is cheap.

I really enjoyed a lot. You definitely like it. There are many species of snakes .You can also see snakes that you will never see . At first Python appear in big size which is up to 20 ft long ....wow.. amazing . You can see crocodiles , Chameleons, different types of lizards and frogs which are placed in separate bottles they are not alive. You can enjoy the day with this trip...... THANK YOU

Highlights of snake park is the reptile park. Theyre giving food (carrots, beetroot, cucumber and leaves)to us to feed the tortoise, chameleon and birds! My kids loved It!

Chennai snake park has an intriguing experience. For those interested in the study of snakes it is a wonderful place. Though creepy and scary at times, it is a place worth the visit. Well maintained and scientific explanations to learn about snakes.The snake park is located near Guindy right next to the IIT Madras. It houses a large number of snakes such as Vipers, Cobras, Rock pythons, etc. It should be noted that the Madras Crcodile bank on ECR road is equally good with loads of crocodile species and some snakes too. Combine both of them for a truly fascinating reptile experience.

I visited this location with my family. We really enjoyed a lot. This place has many species of snakes and with many varieties also. We got to see many snakes which we could not see in other location.Very attractive place within reach form Chennai city. If you have few hours of time in hand then you should visit this park, I am sure you will enjoy the place. It is a kind of small forest, so you will enjoy a Safari kind of travel. I at least enjoyed that place very much.

Lovely experience of infra but 1 staff was negligent today. python cage was left open without attender for at least one whole minute. Negligence. So many children and adults around as visitors. What safety protocol is this?

Good tourist spot to visit who comes from outside and good spot to spend time with kids for the chennai ppls. Entry ticket fee will be 20 Rs for adults and 5rs for kids who is above 5 years and free for less than 5 year kids. And additionally we have to pay for camera mobile each 20 Rs. They have good food court outside the entrance and play area inside . There r more than 10 slides and may play areas. There are few Animals like monkey, deer, peacock etc... it closes by around 6 to 6 30. Good place to spend time with kids on weekends

Same old good place for better time pass in Chennai for a family outing. I would not call well maintained but definitely maintained. The bad odour in open places should be considered natural however few places it stinks. The fat or meat served for crocodiles cause a lot of attention to flies and bad odour. The snake show that shows us to extract venom will be thrilling to see. Overall a good place to visit with family.

Neatly maintained Park.Within city limits.Near to Guindy and Adayar.Recently they have updated all the species enclosures with separate placards.Big area,kids will.enjoy.have snakes,turtles,crocs,Iguana,deer varieties,monkeys,fox, peacock (white ones r beautiful),pelicans,flamingos , ducks,porcupine,live birds,parrots,butterflies,eagle,vulture, museum .Shady enough and have places to sit and relax.fees r nominal.

Its good, if we have more animals it will be very exciting to kids..

Enough car parking space available.Restrooms inside the park are adequate & clean. Can spend the whole day with children playing. Lots of birds & animals maintained well. Nearby Snake park too has brilliant collection of Snakes.

It was good enough for small park but, animals and birds needs special care and attention because of the tropical climate and vegetation otherwise they would have reduced lifespan. Kindly take care of them i saw many disturbed and unhealthy. They also do need to enjoy their life in cages 😢 we will also have the same experience & feelings for them when we visit. Lot of snakes and crocodile where you can find inside the city itself. And nearby you have childrens park.My suggestion is first visit Snake park spend some time until noon and then visit childrens park have your home cooked lunch inside the park and visit the animals and have some fun time

Chennai Snake Park Guindy. Its in the middle of the city and you wont feel like that at all.This park is very nice and well maintained you will get a good natures exposure. To enter this park you have to buy tickets and it costs 20 rupees for adults and 10 rupees for children...It has all kinds of snakes, Crocodiles, Tortoise etc..A great place to spend your time and experience nature right in the heart of the city

If you are new to chennai you can visit this place. Not so exciting and only few snakes were there with lack of energy. You can visit on your leisure time just once.

It is one of the great place in chennai. The Snake Park is next door to the Childrens Park but run by a different organisation that looks after its animals. Snakes are serious stuff here with a million snake bites and maybe 20,000 deaths a year. On a weekday morning there were lots of school groups. The exhibits are mostly well designed so you can see the animals clearly. My favourite is the chameleon at the end of the trail, which was catching insects.there are lot of enjoyments also available to take it.

A great place to be if you want to watch the snakes and alligators . The zoo area is comparatively cleaner and well maintained than the other zoos in the other states.The entry fees is very nominal but only cash is accepted here.

Snake park is really good. There are varieties of snacks to surf through. If visit by mid day, may get chance to see snake feeding. Crocodile varieties are good too.Inside snake part they have dedicated garden walk cost 10rs. Totally worth! You could experience freely roaming iguana and star turtle. You could touch them without harming. My kid loved it! Caution: if you are touching or letting your kid touch iguana, dont piss it off. It can and has hit with its tail when feel threatened.

It has got most of the snakes found in India. There was a very large reticulated python. Its had other creepers also like crocodiles, alligators, tortoise and my favourite chameleon. It has got a small museum also and if youre lucky then you can witness the snake show.

A good place to see the reptile kingdom so near. The park features different varieties of snakes, turtles, iguanas, crocodiles and chameleons. Kids can enjoy the view of different reptiles. The park provides some basic knowledge of the reptile kingdom. The marsh crocodiles which are longer than 15 feet attract the crowd. Pythons and king cobras are some other attractions. Overall this is a good place to visit and provides lot of stuff for reptile lovers.. The entry fee is 20/- for adults.

One of my favorite places in Chennai. Also one of the few places in Chennai which has lots of green. This is called as lungs of Chennai. Been visiting this place since I was a kid with the recent visit being in Sep 2019. The place hasnt changed much in terms of the look and feel but many species inside have changed. It has two parks inside the Snake Park and the Childrens Park. The Snake Park as the name suggests focuses on Snakes and the Childrens park has other animals. Snake Park around 90s used to be at different level with a put at the center containing hundreds of snakes and shows every hour or two. The pit doesnt exist any more. There are some good number of Crocodiles with one huge massive crocodile. The Childrens park used to have Elephants, Panthers, Bears etc but now you can see only Deers, Monkeys, Peacock and some birds. Childrens park has two children play areas. But it can get very crowded. But visiting animals should not be the only reason to visit this place. Once you are inside you will be transported to a different world with canopy of trees and shrubs. I just wish this place exists forever fighting the urbanization.

A small park but has a good collection of snake species, venomous and non-venomous, mostly belonging to the subcontinent and southern Asian regions. Add some other reptiles to the list as well like crocodiles, iguanas, etc.What I observed is that all these creatures are very dull, inactive and mostly motionless.Anyways, children can spend a good one hour here.

But still went to see them, do we found every creature in that park in their respective cages...... Some small snakes are there in glass on the trees and coil themselves it was totally difficult.......... Fun is all you can have there.......

Very good place. It is very informational and you wont get bored seeing the snakes. There are a lot of activities like feeding of crocodiles and all but in specific timings. Neatness is perfect.

One of the must visit places in Chennai to learn about reptiles and snakes. A local weekend trip would make it a different experience. The facts and explanations at displays are interesting. The park could be maintained better but I hope the funding is a problem. The green iguanas from Amazon is the latest arrival. The types of crocodiles are also one of the attractions here.

Its like an oasis since situated in an isolated place viz.Guindy National Park not too far away from the busy but dry city of Chennai.The National park and snake park attract a good number o tourists and students visiting Chennai. Almost all types of reptiles are well maintained and protected here. All varieties of venomous and non venomous snakes are grown and exhibited here.Some of them includes King cobra, vypers, common Krait, python, ratsnakes,tree snakes etc.Other species mention worthy are crocodiles, star tortoise etc.

Has two sections,childrens park&snake park,tickets are seprate for both the sections.it houses a small aquarium with rare fishes,tortoise.good collection of gecko,snakes& big fresh&salt water crocodiles&some wild animals i.e fox,monkeys&birds i.e emu,ducks, etc.theres good parking area but very bad toilets,theres a women collecting money for using thoses hell like toilets.theres not so good food court which charges too much for the little food items it offers.also note while leaving a man standing a small distance before the main entry gate will charge you inr 10(without any receipt) if you are in a four wheeler.Before visiting kindly check timings.
